Күн бұрынRecently, Manchester City unveiled a statue of Sergio Aguero to celebrate that famous title-winning goal he scored in 2012 against QPR. Well, we still have our issues with that statue, because let's face it, it looks more like Toni Kroos than Sergio Aguero. But that's not what we're here to talk about today.
Today we'll be talking about that game, specifically the injury time towards the end of it. Because it was in those final minutes that Manchester City scored two goals to turn the game on its head and snatch the league title from the grasp of their rivals Manchester United. Thereby winning their first ever league title in pretty dramatic fashion.
Well, perhaps too dramatic for some people. And so questions have been raised about that game.

Absolute nonsense. City's third goal was deflected in off Shaun Derry there's no way you can arrange that. Unless you believe that when Agüero blasted a shot from about four yards away from Derry, he thought "I'll stick my leg out just enough to divert the ball away from the 'keeper, but not enough to block the shot." Maybe QPR took their foot off the pedal when they realised they weren't going to be relegated but that's about it.

@@wayneking9997 It was described as their "first ever league title". It wasn't . I watched them in the sixties- they became top dogs in Manchester and yes, they won the league. Hardly any money spent- not enough to cover a week's wages for Phil Jones. Might interest you to know that they were the dominant club in Manchester pre-war and that only changed when Busby took charge at OT in '45.

Strong teams waste time by holding onto the ball. Weak teams time waste by hoofing the ball. It's as simple as that. The players at that point knew they were safe by the cheers from the QPR crowd and didn't care about winning anymore. They weren't helping Man city, but were 'soft playing' because they didn't care anymore.

United fan, I don't think it was fixed. Still more angry at the big home defeat as that had the final say on the goal difference loss. Without that it would have been even closer and a more realistic target for United to try and win on goal difference on the last day. United needed City to drop points on the last day so a 1-0 win was engough. United lost the league with that as the biggest contributing factor but not the only one. If the home loss had been 1-2 not 1-6 GD would have been equal and so would goals F and A, so one extra United goal scored anywhere would be the league that year provided they only lost at OT by 1 goal. However, ifs and buts don't count so City won it based on their results cant say fairer than that.

Yes - warnock was still furious that Man Utd put a weakened team out against West Ham when sheff utd went down. Paddy kenny was also in that squad and he had a shocker in goal. Joey Barton got sent off for no reason other than money - he has since been done for betting breaches. Some others may have been bought but not the whole team

What I believe....the QPR game was fixed right there inside the stadium... The Man City - Aston Villa game was fixed before the match itself...and it wasn't just that game, Both the Liverpool - Wolves game as well were all fixed....to make it look more dramatic...and give fans something to talk about. How is that Wolverhampton and Aston Villa both scored first in the respective games, for Man City and Liverpool to do a come back...looks like what happens in hollywood. It was just all to look dramatic and exciting as drama is one of the selling points of the EPL.

I hate United and I`m glad they lost the title in such fashion(Fergie time type). But Rooney has good points. A lot of people can´t admit that, because they are also glad for United misery, but the fact is that QPR just gave the win to City. They still could concede last goal, but to shoot the ball in the other teams field after the center kick, is just stupid and I haven´t seen a losing/drawing team to do such shit ever. So for sure they let City win in the end. But to talk like match fixing is too much. They could easily let 3:0 defeat and not wait till the dying minutes of the game, if it was really fixed. But I personally believe that in the end QPR let City win the title.

Peru and Colombia came together to eliminate Chile. Chiles game ended first and Colombia needed to win or tie against Peru. They all passed the word to one another after Peru scored a free kick. They tied n Peru had to win another game to go to Russia. Look it up. We basically took Chile out. Soccer baby soccer

Their champion league game against real Madrid was rigged too ,two handball and two one on one with the keeper vinicious was fouled twice by walker the same way , he was suppose to get a red card. ,the ref didnt even bother to check var.
