I was in the car with my mom one day not long ago and a mumble rap song came on the radio I sat there and listened to it for a minute and the first thing out of my mouth was (Is there something wrong with my hearing or can I not understand a damn thing they’re saying??) The independent artists are smarter IMO. They KNOW they have to bring something with meaning to the table to grab attention. The beat and flow are extras.
