in 2/24, i started looking for a dump trailer and my research began. ive looked at all the offerings in my area, the upper midwest, where pretty much all manufactures are represented. i got to see all these in person and i crawled all over them looking at everything. diamond c had some of the worst welds along with big tex. a smaller big tex dump trailer wasnt even completely painted on the inside of the dump box!!! after a couple months of driving thru trailer lots, looking over the trailers, asking questions and reading/watching things online, i bought a southland sl714-16k dump trailer. $11.5k off the lot and then more for title, tax and licensing. main reason i went with southland is because theyre built different which seems to be a better design. do your own research and make up your own minds. dont know about long term issues if any but right now, im pretty satisfied where my money went to.

I bought both my diamond c trailers in 2020 and in 21. I feel/ have hears the quality has been hit or miss. Luckily, I've been happy with both my trailers. We recently purchased a side by side and didn't want to use the dump or the 32 ft to pull around a 14 ft clvehicle. I have a well built equipment from the mid 90s, but 9 month of the yr it is loaded with hay. We went with a 20 ft sure-trac tupe landscape trailer and I have to say I'm very impressed with the quality.

I’m on my 3rd Diamond C dump trailer. It’s a 2024. Welds really shitty on the fenders. It trails so nice though with the new Lippert suspension. I would still buy another. I buy at PineView.

Hope you the best on the new trailer. Hard to get good products these days. I have a good friend that is going to let me have full use of his 25 foot deckover gooseneck when ever i need it. Ill just share maintenence cost, tires. Ect. Great deal for me and good to keep those oil bath bearings rolling sinc it sits alot right now. I need to pick it uo now and fix a wire harness that got ripped of when he loaned it out a while back.

That's a great deal you have worked out. 25 is very nice size trailer, large enough to get most jobs done but still not a pain to maneuver. I hope we made the right choice on size.

I bought a Diamond C fmax 36' gooseneck and i have nothing but good luck. It has the hydraulic dovetail. Only thing i would add is a solar panel for charging. First thing went bad was my battery. Nothing major. I am planning on buying a dump trailer in the near future. Hope you have good luck with your new trailer!

I have a FMAX212 it has been a great trailer HOWEVER I had the hydraulic box fall off the side going down the freeway because it was only welded with 9 spot welds. I had axles not aligned and had it back to the dealer twice. I’ve burned up 3 sets of magnets on the brakes. I blew 6 of the 8 tires with only 15000 on them within 2 days of each other. Now with that said I do continue to have brake issues but I love the trailer. I have over 100,000 miles on it now and it’s still in great shape. I’ve only owned it for a year and a quarter. Feel free to reach out to me. I’m looking to buy a bigger trailer also and now am concerned.

People tend to whine on-line which makes it bad for those who have a legitimate complaint. The things that you said about not getting calls back would concern me. There is no excuse for not calling a customer back for an issue. Full watch and a thumbs up Robert.

I live 10 miles from their factory in Mount Pleasant. Big Tex is here also. In the dump trailer segment, Diamond c is better. I don't know if now is the ideal time to buy with the supply chain issues. I think I'm going over there just to see how high the prices are increasing. I have a diamond c trailer I've had since 2000 I've had good luck with (single axle lawnmower ramp trailer). I've had good luck with mine. Looking to add a dump trailer around the farm perhaps when the market improves.

Has the new trailer come in yet? I saw your videos on your Diamond c and decided to purchase two for myself last March from a dealer in Dallas, TX (I live 1,000 miles away in NC). One is a 16’ GN Dump that I have had numerous problems with and can’t get answers from my dealer on. The other is a 40’ FMAX hotshot trailer with the upgraded hydraulic brakes THAT DON’T WORK! I’m curious to see what happens going forward, and would love to hear your experience on your second trailer.

@PheasantLaneFarm Жыл бұрын
I have a buddy who had one. They are built well, known to be on the heavy side. He didn't have any complaints besides the rust. I think it had 2 7k axles in a gooseneck model and he used it hard. Held up find. Just not many dealers around me for them. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if the weight ofnthe trailer isn't an issue
@TandD1w2 жыл бұрын
I saw the poor weld quality first hand. The structural welds looked great. The guys welding the box had very ropey welds. Not a big thing, more cosmetic than anything else. I also saw another weld that was full of porosity. It was bad enough that the welder had to see it though his helmet. It wasn't a structural weld, but it was in a spot that would be frequently seen. I also saw a bunch of welds with excess mig wire that didn't get burned. To me, it would appear there were two different skill sets of welders; those making structural welds to the frame and everyone else. It would appear that production volume was of a higher priority and there was no QC to step in and say "that's not acceptable". Kinda bummed because I was shopping when I looked at that trailer.
@PheasantLaneFarm2 жыл бұрын
I've been happy with the quality of this trailer. We did receive our new fmax flatbed and I must day I can't find one bad weld on that whole trailer. Even climbed under it multiple times. I guess it comes down to who's working that day.
@All-Miles-Matter2 жыл бұрын
I also saw it first hand. I was at my local trailer dealer and i saw a 40 footer with the works. It looked like SHIT. Weld splatter..they painted right over it! The whole trailer sucked. I was shocked. Then i found a used 2019 40 footer and the welds were IMMACULATE so i bought that one. Air ride with lift, disc brakes, chain and binder rack, winch mounting gear, DEXTER axles and brakes (not lippert) Mint condition. Moral of the story? Buy pre-covid...period. when DC went to lippert is when i shyed away from that product. Buy pre-lippert/pre-covid.
