I am afraid that you didn't understand the purpose of killing kashif's character in "Raqeeb se". what I deduced from kashif's death is that this was a comparison between two stories one that happened 20 years back and one that happened the day kashif was shot. Kashif's character was parallel of Mansoor ahmed. But the thing is, Ameera didnt blame herself for his death as sakina did. I saw a parallel drawn between Hajra and Insha, Both got divorced, one spent life in guilty whereas other moved on. Similarly, Sakina and Ameera were parallel roles, Sakina blamed herself and married Rafeeq ali. whereas Ameera didn't blame herself nor she will marry anwar. This shows that the same situation can be dealt in two ways. One incident of mansoor ahmed's death caused damaged for sakina because she allowed it to. But this time the young girls took it in another way that shows the importance of empowerment.

Yesssssss.. I was disappointed when Amna talked about the whole Kashif Ameera dynamic as the "negative" of last episode. Yes, it was heartbreaking but man, look at how the story came to a full circle. It brought Ameera right to the point where Sakina was 20 years ago. Throughout the drama we kept hearing the account of how Mansoor Ahmed died, Kashif's death brought the same story playing in front of our eyes. How Ameera in the previous episode said, "me Sakina hoon, mujhe sab Sakina bulaya krain" and now she actually is Sakina (with a different mindset and choices of course). I was blown away by the parallels, the subtleties, the ironies. This drama is something I can do a thesis on.

I think Raqeeb Se's ending couldn't have been better. Obviously stories like these can't have a fairytale happy ending. For a moment I wanted ameera and Kashif to get married n be happy together n I was shocked to see him get shot.. But eventually, I realized it was important for ameera to be independent. Yeah she is sad but look at her when she comes back alone to the village n decides to take care of her father. That's one form of empowerment. Hajra realized that her life should not revolve around Maqsood Saab only.. That she should have a life of her own.. N still they showed their relationship was starting to be intimate. Insha proved that you don't need a man in ur life to be happy and sakeena realized her self worth as well.. So all in all, hats off to Bee Gul. U can't ask for a better ending than all the four ladies getting empowered in their own ways.

true this is what i have concluded for Ameera's character, and it was not only she has come and take care of her father she has continued and completed her studies she knows about her rights and says wth so much confidence like I don't want to marry the person I don't like. it was all necessary for a girl to be a mature empowered woman.

I agree completely. Not everyone gets a fairytale ending. And Ameera is still young, she will fall in love again and move on in her life. Kashif ki death was not so much for Ameera's story, but more for his parents. They got their dues. Both his parents were so arrogant based on their power, wealth and having a son. They lost everything with Kashif. It reminded me a little of Stand By Me, I don't know why ....

Honestly I also never wanted Kashif and Insha to be together. They had a very beautiful friendship and romance was not at all necessary. Kashif's death, though sad, was also a wake-up call for Ameera that she cannot keep waiting for a prince charming to fix her life. She needed to take responsibility of herself and those who care for her, and she did!!

From the very first episode when Sakinah sneaks into Maqsood Sahib’s and our lives, we along with the characters of Raqeeb Se embark on a deceptively simple journey of self discovery. As characters gradually reveal their truths, all of us meander through lost loves, unfulfilled dreams, incapacitating fears, tumbling expectations and occasional promising mirages. Only to end at a destination where we see the characters and ourselves, a new. Characters aren’t who they seemed in the beginning, we aren’t who we were in the beginning. This is the magic of great story telling. It transforms the audience along with the characters. Team Raqeeb Se, take a bow.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Raqeeb Se had the perfect conclusion for all the characters, Insha and Sakeena got the destiny to live as strong and independent women, living with dignity and serving society, no longer pining for a man's attention. Hajra and Maqsood finally find each other and heal each other instead of constantly reminding each other of their sad pasts. Maqsood acknowledges Insha as his daughter and not just his responsibility. The sad yet somewhat comforting end was for Ameera and Rafiq Ali. He got the care from Ameera, what he always craved for from Sakeena. And Ameera finally gives up being selfish and bratty and decides to take care of him. The way Rafiq Ali looks at Ameera when she scolds him is so adorable, felt something he had been waiting for all his life, someone to shut him up, stop his bad habits and get him in line. He waited for Sakeena to do this all his life, but finally found solace when Ameera began doing it for him.

Beautiful ending of Raqeeb say and nice discussion from you two. I was waiting for you to shed light on the fact that Maqsood sahab and Sakina were not tied in the bond of eternal love as the writer cleverly deceived us throughout the drama but they were connected through the burden of guilt of Mansoor Ahmed’s death . They talked about it first time in the train and both had a semi closure at that time but as soon as Sakina says badla pora hua after Ameera’s suicide attempt and Maqsood sahab admits to Insha that he wasted his whole life repenting over one incident , both of them were freed completely from that guilt. It was beautiful to see two souls who finally took a deep breath and started living their lives and relationships. You are right Hassan, this is a drama I would rewatch whenever there is nothing good to watch on TV. I wish BeeGul would write more often and give her scripts only to Kashif Nisar 😊

His thirst for education against all odds, his line of work, his compassion, personality, manners , the way he speaks with Sumbal. Sadly, the hero of the majority of our youngsters is Farhad of KAM3, a nakama aashiq who chooses not to study , follows , stares , and harasses a girl, destroying her and his life for his one sided obsession. People don’t like to watch the soul searching story of DNUTN, they love poisonous content, sugar coated with glamour. Big channels didn’t even want it. What a beautiful and such heartbreaking drama as a whole it was. The type and variations of all women shown in this drama is revolutionary and praise-worthy and the amount of development and independence each got simply beautiful. For Insha, she transformed from a insecure and broken girl who yearned for love that she never got from her parents to a self-fulfilled and independent woman. For Hajra, a self-sacrificing and subservient woman to a self-accepting and got the love she considered herself unworthy of. For Ameera, an immature and silly girl who got fed with a timeless love story ended up realising what love is and what it teaches one and for her it taught her sacrifice and loss. For Sakina, a guilt-ridden woman who endured violence and considered herself worthless ended up realising her self-worth and stood for herself and got taught by her own daughter. Just simply beautiful and lovely. And lastly, Maqsood Sahab, a man who turned bitter and quite , who was caught up in his regrets and selfishness, who couldn’t let go off his past ended up finding love again in the form of his wife whom he neglected due to many reasons and couldn’t see how wonderful she was. For every character, history repeated itself yet the younger characters decided to not repeat the mistakes their parents and loved ones had. Insha and Hajra both were divorcees but Insha stood her ground while Hajra delved into self-pity. Ameera stood where Sakina had 20 years ago with the same cause: death of loved one yet Ameera didn’t blame herself and moved on but kept his love in her heart while Sakina endured domestic violence because she thought herself responsible of the death. Maqsood Sahab and Abdul both were ambitious to the point of being selfish but Maqsood Sahab changed after Mansoor Ahmed’s death while Abdul got the best of his unchecked ambitions. Ameera and Maqsood Sahab changed after experiencing a death and saw the world as it was and not how it could be for them and the reason why Ameera had to experience death is for her to realise that she can’t become her mother, her studies will give her wings and stand her ground while still having him in his heart. It did to her what Sakina couldn’t understand and wouldn’t let go off. Coming to last episode, it was like a symphony that came to its end yet its effect lasted and left you with a feeling to listen to it again and sad that it has ended. This is what this drama made me feel. After Alif and Kashf, this js the ending that was long-lasting and endearing. The character I got annoyed the most from became the character that made me shed a tear because how commendable Iqra acted and how her character evolved and transformed. It was like a butterfly coming out off its cocoon. From an immature girl finding love to someone who lost her love in one episode and still standing is character development gold. How both fell in love and one died in just one episode; in one episode we felt something that a whole drama could be based on and still not be convinced but in this episode we got convinced so much so that the bullet scene, train scene and the last scene was so tragic and heartbreaking that your heart melts. When she was crying silently while hiding in her dupatta was painful with the soulful music, I cried and still thinking back at it makes me sad. That train and last scene belonged to Iqra Aziz as well as being the queen of the last episode, the anguish and grief she portrayed while being strong on the outside. A classic by all means and will be missed because the act of peeling each layer off it reminded me of reading Madame Bovary and when it has ended a void has been created. PS. Pleace give all awards to Kashif Nisar, Bee Gul and the five leads especially Sania Saeed, Noman Ejaz, Hadiqa Kiani and Iqra Aziz. Sorry it is long but had to say what I wanted to.

Raqeeb se was poetic and piece of literature a masterpiece!!! I think not everyone noticed this detail, but the end was all about women empowerment and history repeating itself. The new generation made wiser decisions for themselves by learning from their past. Sakina & Ameera both lost their loved ones. Their stories involved murders. Kashif in Ameera's case and Mansoor Ahmed in Sakina's case. Sakina gave up on life and lived it according to the wishes of other people while Ameera chose to continue her studies, make her own rules and not marry the guy her father chose for her. Insha and Hajra both were divorcees. Hajra felt helpless because of her daughter and thought herself trash after her divorcee label, ended up marrying Maqsood Sahib while Insha kept following her dream without the divorcee label affecting her life. There was a comparison between Maqsood sahib and Abdul as well. Both were ambitious men, one chose his responsibilities and the other one ran from them for his career. I was really upset and sad about the murder of Kashif, but it had to be done to show the history repeating itself track. One thing that this drama has highlighted and that sooo many ppl have failed to recognize - most of us are Hajra or Maqsood sahib in one way or another! We might not have the same story as theirs, but so many of us are still slaves to our past traumas! Let's learn a lesson from this drama. Our past DOES NOT define us!!! What defines us is what we want to be today!! So let's start living our present and let's let go off our past!!

Raqeeb se : Dear Amna, suicide is a painful act done with a deep sense of victimhood and helplessness, albeit with a disturbed mind. Kashif instead stepped up and fought injustice displaying bravery which is NOT an act of suicide :) Ameera need not spend the next 20 years wallowing in pain just the way Sakina did. Rather throughout the series, Ameera defines herself completely different from Sakeena. This incident ( Kashif being shot) is not only climactic in terms of story telling, but extremely impactful towards a lot of characters' development. Yes, it is painful, but as Rumi said " The wound is the place where the light enters you " :)

Raqeeb Se ❤️❤️❤️my top 3 favorite parts from the last episode: 1. Insha reading the letter from her father. The letter itself was so poignant (the part about Kashif's parents). And Maqsood sahab's love and affection for his DAUGHTER was so apparent, which really is all Insha ever wanted. The way she held that letter tenderly to her chest ❤️ 2. The changing dynamic between Maqsood and Hajra. No explanation needed. Sakeena aur Maqsood ki kahaani toh boht pehle khatam ho gayi thi. Finally, finally Hajra aur Maqsood ki kahaani shuru hui. 3. Kashif and Ameera. Not saying I'm happy about what happened, because it's tragic, but I greatly enjoyed the way it was done. A rollercoaster of emotions. So I actually thought the scene of Ameera in the train crying was mistakenly put in... Then the whole car scene, and then the gunshot, and then back to Ameera in the train... The dawning realisation and horror.. I literally took out my earphones and walked away. Goosebumps. Bonus: Sakeena and Hajra laughing about the song "Bhala hai bura hai jaisa bhi hai, mera pati mera devta hai". It's just so ironic, hilarious and goes so well with their character arc. PS: 😋 okay but the last scene with Hajra and Maqsood Sahab... Did anyone else think that maybe Insha will finally get a little sibling? No? Just me? I'll see myself out.

Some points about Raqeeb Se: Maqsood Sahib: where we thought these women were the planets around the star that was Masqsood sahib, it turns out he was the moon orbiting around these strong women. He was the one being inspired by them and their strength. Hajra and Sakeena: perfect end! They broke the patterns, they reinvented themselves, they evolved and what else could we have asked for them?! Insha: she too broke old patterns and evolved. The fact Sakeena is now watching over someone , as opposed to be the one who was watched, was beautiful. Ameera: her end was perfect. She can finally feel the pain Sakeena went through. The loss of someone who would have helped her out of her world. Now she will break patterns by not ending up like her mother. Beautiful story!!

Raqeeb se: It was a satisfying, realistic ending, except for Kashif. He didn’t deserve to die. All four women, realising their worth and finding a purpose in life, empowering themselves. Was specially happy to see Hajra, MS roles reversed, MS now waiting and showering attention on the busy Hajra. 😊 Loved the scene where Sakina Hajra were laughing aloud, finally getting over MS. Thank you B Gul for such beautiful portrayal of women and their emotions. ❤️Congratulations to Saqib Nisar and all the actors for brilliant performance. Raqeeb se, indeed was a treat to watch.👏👏👏 Would love to watch a SEQUEL on the professional and emotional journeys of Insha and Ameera.😊

Hassan please pardon my OCD but please stop keeping your phone on the hand rest of the sofa 😅 I am paranoid that some day it's gonna fall... As far as Ameera is concerned why do we seek only happy endings when it comes to emancipation? A lot of times grief leads to liberation... I think it was extremely evolved writing. 🇮🇳
@jayatidave28643 жыл бұрын
@@rajasafdar1683 exactly right? We all grieve in our lives for something or someone. I think what beegul wanted to convey is that everyone's journey us different... And the way they handle setbacks and evolve over time is. She successfully established that Ameera isn't going to destroy herself in this grief.. she isn't her mother.💖

In Raqeeb se.. the letter did. I did not cry for Ameera. I am glad she did not make it like 'crying whole life for love' she is studying and she is moving on. Her trauma was watching Kashif die, like she said 'k khoon dekh k mein darr gayi thi' when she cut herself.

Let us understand that each of the 3 women found solace within one thing or the other. Ameera however, was never a woman. While Hajra, Sakeena and Insha were to find how to deal with what womanhood had given them, Ameera was to find womanhood itself. Had Ameera and Kashif ended up together, yet again Ameera’s emancipation would have been tied to a male. To discover her individuality, she had to be in a situation where she’d understand the fragility of life. When she took her own life, it was a moment of authority over life. To witness another’s death, you see the reality of being human. As for the pacing, let us consider how the drama NEVER gave us information dumps and always subtle, vague hints ultimately bringing the whole picture to light. Thus, each conclusion in the last episode was soft and precise, the classic Raqeeb se style.

Pardees is really close to my heart. My father used to live in abroad. My uncle was same as goher's character. He used to send money on his wife in same way and my aunts had their own demands. I still remember those times when my mother used to do household work and my uncle and his wife would roam and go to restaurants. But finally my mother took stand and told my father to take us with him as she was with these people. Today we are in good place. My mother says that it was past. But as a child at that time i still remember those bitter families. Respect your parents. They really endure many hardships.

I have to say, at the risk of repeating myself, that no doubt the script Bee Gul sahiba has written, was an amazing piece of art, but the inputs by each actor made it bloom. Such finesse, such nuances, so subtle. And by no means far behind was the brilliant direction and awesome use of music. It was all mesmerising. Team Raqueeb se, you just outdid yourself and set the bar soo high. I will end up recommending this to EVERYONE. And will also see it many times over. Much love and heartfelt admiration from India. Our dramas can learn so much from you !

The shooting scene was so beautifully and artistically done. Ameera jerking awake remembering the sound of the gun and touching her face where it got covered with his blood, Insha reading the letter confirming the death. So effective and beautiful. This is how art should be done. As I lay in bed last night to sleep, I felt a tug on my heart, a heaviness. I imagined how the death would have played out, ameeras reaction at her fiance getting shot, probably splattered with his blood, tayi’s reaction, the scene at the funeral. Those are things best left to the imagination. Much like when you read a novel. Compare it to Yeh Dil Mera with its in your face shooting scene that was badly executed and left little to the imagination

Raqeeb Se had such an impactful ending, we were smiling along with teary eyes, and I think that's the beauty of Raqeeb Se, Bee gul makes sure that every character of her stories has an important role to play,, 🙌 Kashif's death was a tragedy just like mansoor ahmad's death, both were innocents and their deaths shackle the lives of their loved ones so badly, at the end ameera was standing at same point as sakeena was 20 years back, blood stained and losing the love forover, but ameera was empowered, had vision and knew how to take stand for herself unlike sakeena, Huge shout out to all the team of Raqeeb se, indeed a masterpiece and a classic that will be remembered for long time 👌🙌

Guys i was just waiting for this review for Raqeeb se and thanks for spending the time on it! Amna I do think Kashifs death after his love interest in Ameerah had a greater significance. Ameera is a daughter who always considered her mom wrong, so she learned how a reciprocated love leaves a greater impact on ones life. Also it showed us the flip side of the same story. Sakina who spent 20 years mourning her lost love, and Ameera who gets up on her feet and takes responsibility, refuses to marry anyone else and stands her ground! It was all just so beautiful! Almost magically realistic!

Ms. Amna's comment about Sakina removing her dupatta/hijab as being representation of her liberation is a trope used over and over in Pakistani dramas. If anything, this comment in itself is so beyond problematic, and is denounced again and again when western media portrays hijab removal as a form of liberation. Raqeeb Se used the dupatta-removal trope as a symbol of liberation, so did Humsafar, and countless other Pakistani dramas. As a hijabi, I take personal offense to this and there is no way that one can justify using this trope as artistic-- it's not artistic, it's in bad taste; a slap in the face of all hijabi/dupatta-wearing women who have to prove over and over to Western and Eastern societies that when we cover our hair, we aren't covering our brains, we aren't in need of liberation, and that we won't run to remove our hijabs the moment we gain that liberation!

I almost don’t want to watch this because I don’t think I’d be able to hear the review on raqeeb se. I just- it was so incredibly beautiful that I only want to live it once and not have to relive it. Isn’t it so incredibly ironic? The way history repeated itself? Multiple times in multiple facets. You could c a young sakina in the form of Ameera as the last scene was shot. How she’d hold Kashif’s love over her heart her entire life. You can just feel it having defined and change her life. What a contrast to Insha, who chose not a single moment define her life. I just- like please. I am very heart broken.
@MiraasbyMariyamDawood3 жыл бұрын
I feel Ameera chose a seperate path. She didn't give in. Yes she is in pain but she will not hold on to it like Sakina. The contrast being - she refused to marry Anwar confidently. Ameera is not Sakina, same way Insha wad not Hajra. Insha accepted divorce unlike Hajra who called it a daag. Similarly Ameera accepted loss of Kashif as fate she will move on
@yousufrahman36303 жыл бұрын
Guys I think you missed the point. The whole Amira track is a call back to Sakina’s story. Just like Sakina had blood on her clothes Amira now has it too. Just like Sakina’s love story was brought brutally to an en Amira’s is too. The difference is that here Amira is now empowered. She will not accept the circumstances she does not leave her studies she learns what it takes to stay strong and move on. The entire story makes all the more sense with this ending as it brings us back full circle but highlight the difference that there are in each charge goes lives. All of these stories are parables of each other. Abdul being ambitious like Maqsood Insha being a divorcee like Hajra but empowered Amira having her love story end brutally but empowered. I think it was important to end this way.

This is a master stroke...from a literary point of view. And I love the train shot..and then flash back..i loved the editing. Sorry my humble opinion. We are so attached to the character thats why we want to see more. Some very great art works are slightly incomplete. This is literary great work. Bee Gul is ahead of her time. With Raqeeb Se my take was that the story was not about how they impacted others(even though they did) but how other people impacted their journey towards self realization. Maqsood Saab acted as the nucleus that brought them together and how their feelings towards him helped them change. I disagree with Amna about Kashif’s death being a suicide. He died upholding his true principles so it was an honorable death. Do you really think he would have been allowed to marry Ameerah? Kashif’s death also brought to mind his conversation with Ameerah about valuing her life and not try to end it for silly reasons. He showed by example that if you want to put your life in peril, it should be for a good reason. Ameerah also realized that despite being a sorry figure, her mom was stronger than her Dad and she also got over her insecurity that he didn’t love her. In the end, she became independent and mature enough to go back and take responsibility for the parent who truly needed her.

I believe Pardes is absolutely worth watching. Main reason is performances are excellent!! Its an emotional watch and can become a little hard to watch - but im hooked because its such a realistic and heart warming story. But a request to both of you, keep watching as the drama will skip a generation, Dure e Fishan (Sanam’s sister from Dil Ruba) & Affan Waheed will enter the drama who will play Zubi’s daughter & son-in-law and it will show history repeating itself but the daughter (when she grows up) won’t allow it. Pardes is relatable to many people in Punjab (India) as well ,I know many people who went to foreign country illegally and could not come back almost 20 to 30 years.Their brothers ,sisters took full advantage of the money earned , but on the other hand their wives and children suffered everyday. Zaheed Ahmed's Drama Dalaal was based on similar story line, but with some relief in form of wife's strong and supportive family and Zaheed's brother.

Something Haute, Thank you for proper long DNUTN and Raqeeb Se review. You guys ensured mentioning all points and details of each :)) I just want to add one point: Wahaj's acting in the scene with Yumna outside shelter home + at home, was amazing as he wanted to console her but couldn't come close to her, comfort her by placing hand, etc. So his expression of wondering how to console was also on point. And to all the producers/directors: if story like RaqeebSe that had several layers can be explained so well in 24 episodes, you all can easily too. Please limit teh number of episodes and don't drag the shows.

Read this comment on the episode of raqeeb se beautifully explained kashif's death. Every one is confused here about why kashif got killed? The history was repeating itself. Abdul Rahman was ambitious as Maksood saab. They both were left alone, but Maksood saab had a guilt of being the reason his brother died, he was never over it. Letting go of his past made him see how wonderful of a person Hajra was and that gave them a closure. Insha and Hajra both were independent and divorcée. Insha took a stand for herself whereas Hajra accepted everything and never raised a voice for herself. She was satisfied with whatever she got. After Insha divorced Abdul, Hajra knew it wasn't Insha's fault then she realised it wasn't her fault as well and she started her career again with her love for Maksood saab. Now Ameera and Sakina both suffered the trauma of murder of their loved one/family. While Sakina thought she deserved it and suffered through out years, Ameera never left her studies and broke her engagement with her cousin. She knew it wasn't her fault. Past had repeated itself and older generation learned it through newer ones that choices can change the story. It was the choices Insha, Ameera and Kashif took that separated their story. It was a story of women empowerment, about how they learned through their past and never repeated their mistakes. Kashif murder was a mirror image of tragedies for Ameera and Sakina so it was important. Hope it makes sense.

Nicely put together summary of closing of raqeeb se, missed few episodes, can someone explain what happened exactly why Maqsood sahib went to jail and instead his brother Masood got killed?
@statesman013 жыл бұрын
Kashif's death was necessary so the comparison and contrast can be made between Sakina and Ameera's life. The story of Raqeeb Se comes full circle - from how Mansoor Ali's death destroyed 20 years of Sakina's life to how Kashif's death may affect but won't destroy Ameera's life and from how a divorce makes Hajra completely grateful for Maqsood Sahab's support to how a divorce changes but won't destroy Insha's life. Yes, Ameera is affected by Kashif's death but she is not going to let her father force her into a marriage like Saqina was. And Insha chooses self-respect over love in her relationship, choosing to divorce a man she cannot respect. Kashif had to die to make the point that a man is not necessary to complete a modern woman's life. Yes, Ameera is sad but it doesn't seem based on her personality that she is going to suffer guilt like Sakina did over Mansoor Ali's death. She cries but there will be no references from Ameera about Kashif's blood on her clothes unlike the frequent mention of Mansoor Ali's blood on Sakina's clothes.

your intros are so refreshing and entertaining! Raqeeb se: Excellent wrap up!!! Kashif and Ameera's track was very sad and took a while to sink in but it was realistic. Pardes: It is such a relatable story, every other household in pakistan experiences it to some extent. Yes it might become difficult to bear but the concept needs appreciation. The struggle of an average pakistani who is working abroad under such nasty conditions. I mean look at the room ahsan lives in. there a handful of other people in the same room as well. there is barely any space to walk between their mattresses. how many pakistani's are living and working in the gulf like that. And pain the wife and the kids bear due to the husband/father being so far away. Its sad but its relatable and realistic.
