Since Scream 2 is my favourite sequel, i was happy to see all the similarities and call backs! It was a blast!

i really liked the motive for 6. i like it better than scream 2s even tho mickey is my favorite killer, his motive wasn’t expanded on enough and he wasn’t the focus, which is unfortunate cuz there’s a lot more mickey to dive into

Personally wouldn't say that. I felt Bailey's grief was more believable than Mrs. Loomis's largely because she seemed more upset about how people perceived her as a parent rather than the fact her son was killed. That, and the other difference is that Mindy does not get the ax as Randy did. And of course, there are more than one or two Ghostfaces. But I could expect the seventh film to take some inspiration from Scream 3.

Im gonna start off by saying it was similar to scream 2 but with its own twist in a way. The part where they were in the park was the same scene essentially from scream 2 when randy got killed, the college setting theme was also nod to scream 2. Even Chad looked liked Cotton Weary in the ending with the hoodie and jeans but there were different things I really enjoyed such as the three killers, the opening kills, ghostface using A shot gun ect the setting in the city to me it did enough to revisit the past movies but do its own thing as well

What was cool about the Wes Craven/Kevin Williamson films (1, 2, and 4) is that the killers each had a separate motive, so that way if people didn’t dig one, there was another to fall back on. 3 and the Radio Silence films have relied on one, so if the motive doesn’t work for some people, there’s not another one to fall back on. For example, 6 is just revenge, whereas 2 is revenge and blaming the movies since that was such a topical issue at the time.

6 actually felt like a mix of 2&3. It actually felt more like 3 except for the parent as ghostface part. The New York part was even similar as how 3 was in Hollywood, just the ghostface takes on a big city thing.

The answer is no! It’s not exactly the same movie, even I made a video explaining the reasons why it’s not, Scream 6 has a way different opening scene, compared to Scream 2, and possibly the most shocking opening in the franchise, with Scream 6, also 6 is only on college for a little bit of the movie, and is mainly In the New York setting, while Scream 2 is mainly just at college, Scream 6 Ghostface uses a shotgun, kills somebody off a ladder, and is overall more brutal in Scream 6 compared to 2, in Scream 2 I guess the cop with the pole in his head is brutal, but that’s really it for me, also Ghostface has a old aged worn out mask, and we also got our first Detective killer in this franchise, and a family of killers, and 3 killers, also I feel like Detective Bailey specifically, got good screen time, and was set up better then Mrs Loomis, who was bearly in the film, detective Bailey, set up his plan, and while of course the motive is the same as Scream 2, I still think Scream 6 executed it better, I like seeing how Detective Bailey is explaining how he might be at some fault, as a parent for pushing the stab films onto Richie, and he even gives a little bit more backstory onto Richie, while Mrs Loomis didn’t really do those things, so idk Scream 6 did the revenge motive thing better imo, and overall Scream 6 is just a way different film compared to Scream 2, so fans can point out the motive, and of course the college setting, but Scream 6 like I said wasn’t just on the college campus the whole movie.

It was a mixture of Scream 2, 3 and some elements of 4. Not the same but heavily inspired by Scream 2

I love Scream 2, love how some things were similar but in a very different way. I absolutely love and enjoy Scream 6 and would definitely go watch it again and again. Oh, and Kirby! Love her and so happy to have her back. Great video!

People aren't understanding what a "requel" is. They are remaking Scream 1, 2, 3 but also being a sequel at the same time. Thats why Scream 2022 ended at the Macher house, Scream 6 they were in college and also ended the movie on a theater stage with the lasts killers parent being Ghostface. Scream 2022 - Ritchie = Billy Scream 6 Ritchies father = Mrs Loomis. Dont be surprised if in Scream 7 they are on a movie set. It's a *RE*QUEL

i still love scream 6 but the one thing about what you just said is that Mindy should talk about more movies about requel and i thought her getting stabbed on the subway was pretty scared and horrified and Ethan detective Bailey I like them as a killer and Bailey people comparing him to mrs. loomis he’s not really mrs. loomis his motive was way different than mrs loomis that’s why I love his character scream six is waiting different than scream 2

grief past a certain degree looks goofy. Steve-O in SLC punk for example calls Heroin Bob a posuer for dying, which is obviously silly but griefing people often lose those checks on being taken seriously. I like the performance we get for Ms. Loomis in Scream 2, but I am not as hot on the performance during the reveal scene in 6.

Mindy was very surprising for me bc well it looked like ghost face stabbed the living heck out of her but ig it was all a lie. And I always wanted to know who killed who bc well when ghost face was attacking Sidney in her apartment ghost face was weak and biologically males re usually stronger than females but then again we see ghost face get shot and He or she says “maybe I have a bullet proof vest on” so it’s kinda hard depicting on who killed who. also I feel like Sam isn’t really a good character. Ik some of y’all liked her but really she is the reason why a bunch of people died.

Between scream 2 and scream 6, scream 2 i highly consider as my favorite and yes in my honest opinion Billy’s mother was intimidating, her motive was just like she said to Sidney it was good old fashioned revenge and speaking of sequels just like Mickey told Randy during the film class scene, many sequels have surpassed their original.

I love you and your videos, but I don’t get your hard on for Scream 6. It’s a mess on screen and off. I was done with this video when you were talking about being an Ohio native and spotting one thing in Scream 2 that doesn’t fit and then going on to say that the backdrop of Scream 6 is “absolutely and not even with an argument New York City.” Have you ever been to NYC? lol They filmed this movie in Canada in the summer and their version of NYC feels NOTHING like New York. It’s laughably bad. It’s late October and all the girls have their bellies showing, walking around in nighties, Chad is shirtless, etc.. This is not something you do in October in NYC. Also, you refer to the dialogue in S2 as cheesy but say that S6 commits to its darkness. I gotta wonder if we watched the same movie. Because the S6 I saw had Mindy making a joke every time she was stabbed, acting extremely indifferent to her girlfriend’s death right after it happened; it had Chad making joke after joke while he was being chased and attacked - beheadings! - and Sam and Tara literally have a heart to heart immediately - literally immediately - after being stabbed so many times AND while Kirby is bleeding out on the floor in front of them. Also, how did Kirby get a TV that’s ridiculously heavy - the whole point of the Stu can’t be alive debate - to somehow lift up off the stand it was on which was a good two to three feet lower than Ethan’s height and kill him? It’s so stupid. Scream 6 has killer moments, but as a whole, it’s trash. I don’t understand your love for it or your hatred for Mrs. Loomis. Just a reminder that Mrs. Loomis was fat and her husband cheated on her. She was probably driven crazy way before Billy killed anyone. Billy was probably the only one who was nice to her and she felt extreme guilt for abandoning him. Her motive to kill Sidney makes WAY more sense than what the Kirsch family did. So Bailey sent prosthetics to a morgue when Quinn “died??????” Um, yeah. lol It’s so serious.

Accusing Scream of copying itself is kind of silly. That said, it's definitely its blueprint. Sadly, Scream 2 is superior in every way.

Yeah, it was quite similar, but I'd say the same thing about Scream 5 in comparison to Scream 1. However, when it comes to motive (the most obvious similarity), I actually feel the hurt coming from the Kirsches (or whatever their last name is 😭); they actually seemed genuinely upset, they were all on the verge of crying, whereas Nancy Loomis (to me) just seemed angry and crazed. I don't get a feeling that she's actually hurt by losing her son, though the fact that she abandoned him surely has something to do with that; but it's mostly just the way she acted (or didn't act). She didn't seem sad about Billy's death at all.
