For real. And a lot of time when life hits you it hits you hard and more than once. Love your youth and live it up, but don't take it for granted. It'll be gone before you know it. I was told that countless times as a kid... wish I'd of listened.

Shit I’m 23 and a recovering addict. I might be young but I’ve lived more life than a lot of people twice my age and probably lost more people too, I wish I didn’t relate with this song so much but I do. This kid was obviously raised right with the mom having full intentions of keeping him away from what she’s experienced and that’s a good thing.

It's not just addiction. I find this song to relate to act of the escapes we find. How many know they need to find ambition and discipline but instead put it off till tomorrow to play a video game or go shopping. They need to forgive and heal sounds but just don't have time for it today. They need to fix themselves but spend their time trying to fix everyone else so they don't have to look that deep in the mirror. It is easy to avoid the important challenges, but we will only find that we've wasted years in misery and are still just as broken. Yeah, it often takes years to relate, but this song is probably something that almost anyone can relate to.

Mom goes somewhere for a sec. Like she said-once you’ve lived you feel each of those lyrics, they’re relevant to a time and a place and a feeling. His blissful ignorance is something to remember of our own youth. We were all so shallowly looking at life, skimming the surface.

Watching their faces perfectly animated the different responses juxtaposing the innocence of youth versus the effects of time and existential human experience. He is appreciating technique and style and discovering a new side to music he’s never even considered. Mom is reliving moments in time of feeling broken, irreparable, and lost. For him it’s new and for her it’s a memory evoked from somewhere deep. Makes me appreciate and pity that innocence right alongside the experience.

I can’t sing or listen to this song and not cry. It’s impossible. When you’ve experienced the worst life can offer, it just hits you different because it’s the voice in your head. This is how I’ve felt most of my life. I’m glad this young man doesn’t yet understand the level of pain this song carries. Keep enjoying life and keep seeing the beauty it shows you everywhere. And ALWAYS, respect your mama. She won’t always be here, and sometimes our parents leave us sooner than we’d like. Y’all are great ♥️

And your mom is so right about the message in this song cuz I've experienced this kind of pain before.. over and over again, finding myself in hotel rooms either alone looking into the mirror at myself and wanting to give up on life or with a total stranger cuz he had drugs and I had no money 😥 thank God that part of my life is over BUT there is always a new struggle around the corner... ANYWAY your mom is so pretty looking like Diana Ross ❤

Jelly is amazing. I always make the joke that Jellyroll is my spirit animal. He can rap and sing. Has done everything from trap music to rock and country and no matter what the genre his lyrics have a way of hitting home and being real. A quality that is in desperate need of a comeback in the music industry across the board. Man's been grinding for over a decade dropped something like 40 albums and just now finally gettin the respect and recognition he deserved all along.

Another great song by Jelly but what hit me harder is seeing this young man sitting with his Mom to watch the video together and share their thoughts. Someday, they will look back and cherish these moments, they are truly blessed to have each other. To everyone who still have their Mom, give her a hug, let her know you love and respect her while you can. I miss my Mom so much and I pray that one day I will reunite with her in heaven. God bless this Mom and son, I'm thankful for the example they are setting for others.

The moment when her mouth tightens and she gets that smirk of familiar pain around 6:15 you can see her traveling back. It makes you treasure and pity the blissful ignorance that the son gets to feel listening to the same song. You both hope he has the experiences that dig deep enough to leave their mark but also that he avoids the pain that so often accompanies the good in life.

YASSS MOM! If I heard this 10 years ago, I'd think little more than "this guy has a good voice." After going through 7 years of kidney failure, and going through the rollercoaster of getting a new kidney so I could stop dialysis, but having to give up the career and industry I had worked in for 15 years because of the medication regiment I had to maintain, and needing to get a new degree to get a job that provides the stability and paycheck I need to pay for medical issues now and in the future, I can barely keep it together when that line "life has shattered my hopes and my dreams" gets played. Once you've lived these types of things, its hard to hold back those emotions when you hear someone so talented singing what could be your personal anthem.

It's something you can never know/understand until you do. I love this song, I was married for 15 years to tha love of my life. She had 2 small children I raised when she got on Drugs, both are grown now and they have given 4 beautiful grand baby's. I'm 65 now and I have never given up on her and have never been with anyone else in 26 years and had never wanted to be. We do talk several times a month I have never blamed her for what life handed her. Her relationship with her kids has been restored and her grandkids love her very much. The lady that I still love really never had a chance at a happy child hood, her father was a Heron addic and her mother was a stripper. I saw the sadness in her life and it broke my heart and I fell in love with her. She asked why I loved her so much, I simply told her because she needed a love that would be forever and I was ready to give her that for the rest of her life and that's what she still has to this day. I will never give up on her ever. I said all of that to say this. Jelly Roll got in the gang life and spent time in prison now hehas found his love and I hope it is a lifetime love. We all need that it makes us a better person. God Bless Jelly Roll may he be happy with the love of his life for ever. Save Me is one of the best songs I've ever heard. Thanks for this video.
