Why couldn't SQ321's pilots detect turbulence ahead? Multiple analysts believe the Singapore Airlines flight was hit by clear-air turbulence (CAT), which is virtually undetectable with current technology. Here's what we know about CAT and how it may have affected SQ321.

Neither is Qatar then going by your logic. Better not leave home either. More car accidents and traffic accidents on the ground. A friend just died. Car accident. Pregnant w her baby. Both died. So… stay home.

Pilots recognise that SQ pilots are some of the best in the business. Was speaking to friends in the industry. The other pilots always wait to see if SQ pilots can clear challenging conditions before they try it too.

@@chucky6187 Don’t think I was blaming anyone or anything specifically but you can be sure that if one is related to the poor Grandfather who died due to this, he’d be blaming the entire line of people or companies for this, not just Boeing.

*It doesnt make sense at all cos the plane has the most advance radar sensory that should be able to detect whats ahead just like the night vision sensor otherwise it defeats the purpose*

Radar can only detect disturbance which causes radar signals to bounce off. Clear air won't do that.

@@navinkumarpk86 If its deem clear air then turbulence doesnt occur otherwise the term clear is baseless also the radar should be able to pick up the sound of the turbulence from a distance if it cannot see it right ?

@@bobafett5757 Radar can pick up cloud. No cloud=clear in the eyes of the radar. It does not pick up sounds.

The narrator in her self-conscious diction, sounds like she is making light of this traumatic accident. What about the electromagnetic field above the irrawaddy basin, incidentally bordered by China, India and Myanmar, abovemilitary bases around the area? Shying away from crux of matter?

Highly unlikely they encountered CAT. They went between two massive cells according to flightaware data.

This was an orchestrated attack by taking remote control of aircraft - disabling of the auto pilot and concurrent intense real time manipulation of weather.

autopilot takes combined FMGC position data called a GPIRS from the GPS and IRS. tampering with GPS position is easily detectable and the FMGC will just switch to take data from the IRS, which is a closed unit. attack by remote control is simply not possible.

This has and never will be implemented. This will require a separate flight computer for fault tolerance that costs $$$ and weight. The ADIRU alone that feeds position information of the aircraft is the 2nd most expensive part of the aircraft, only behind by the cost of the 2 engines themselves. I have flown the 777 for 8 years and never have I seen this mentioned on the FCOM. Typically conspiracy BS.
