Was nice to see the emotion of this get taken seriously. All this talk of ghost writers, actors, stuff like that, art is art and subjective but an artist expressing experience should matter but experienced or not the association with feeling matters. You don't have to give to charity because you've been there but because you can empathise and care for people. Frankly I don't believe Norman is an oscar worthy actor. I believe he has felt pain and this is an expression of that and personally I feel it. Kudos to you for giving this respect and treating it with the care it deserved. Much love you you and all my fellow human beings out there, no matter the cause of your pain.

sonnet- a poem of fourteen lines using any of a number of formal rhyme schemes, in English typically having ten syllables per line. i didnt know exactly what it was so i looked it up and figured id share because its much more specific than i thought

FYI, it's not technically a sonnet. Those are little puzzle poems with a 14 line limit and strict formal rhyme schemes. I'd love it if rappers started spitting formal verse forms.

Great job Sir! This video really tells a story about Normans life. He's def been through some shit. Thankfully, he got on Pete & Bas's radar one way or another. H deserves the recognition/success. He's got BARS , and not talking about the jail kind :)

true that. I can relate. Spent a night in jail...but almost did 2-5...did 2 years in drug court. that was my ultimatum . it was clean up or go to jail. thankfully i got my shit together now. Been on the positive road since my last almost jail scare. "all the courtooms"...I can relate to that big...I've seen enough of that life..All up from here on in. I can tell Norman is struggling with addictions currently. Sometimes, you have to go back. I get it. Norman "pain."...i'm getting knee surgery april 18th this month...i know pain. I've played too many shows with many bands..and have blown out my knees. Norman is my favorite rapper currently. Love the guy. May he get all the success that he deserves in his senior years, as his past is 100% rough. But he will survive, and so will I. thank you for reviewing this sir. much love -- Jim Levinthal (current drummer of touring band, The Big Sauce Trio out of Buffalo NY) PS: another relation i have with norman, is that we are both just struggling to survive. Nice work diving into it. It sounds like he killed a guy and his wife. Did 18 years. came back out, his parents are dead. his kids and woman are gone. I have no idea how much is true but am curious to find out. Gotta just keep listening and seeing what pieces he drops next.

Norman was describing using an electric razor in the bathroom with the mains cord plugged into the electric socket. While absolutely fine to do in the U.S, our voltage is much higher and therefore it's illegal and dangerous to have an electric mains item in our bathrooms and we don't have electric sockets (outlets, to you). An easy way to end one's life here is to get into a bath full of water after carrying in something electrical that you've plugged in outside the bathroom (often a radio or a toaster) and then get in the bath and drop the appliance in. Bang, you're gone (a bit like watching somebody over there in 'Old Sparky'. That's what he was saying. Nothing about a sock with anything in it as a weapon. His next line was about a man 'in the boot, and one in the bonnet'. Of a car. You call the boot the trunk. Hope that helps.

To me, sounds like his describing his entire life in one song. "Sold my car, bloke in the boot, blood on the bonnet. " he probably did time for that, "Eighteen yеars in the can, that’s time, I won’t get back. His parents are dead, his wife and kids left him and now is battling drug and alcohol addiction. " Pint of the bitter, I might start itching and turning again to addiction", also said "sleight of the wrist and the mind's in prison" "Something's wrong, this pain won’t leave" he is aware of what is happening "Drag my soul into the ground and take my heart and paint it black"

there's definitely at least some truth to this, at his age well... his parents aren't gonna be around and just from his tone and how he describes it i believe him, i think a lot of people get skeptical about him, pete and bas etc just because they're old and seen as a soft old kind grandparent type figure, but having worked with the elderly in a care home for a bit you'd be surprised how wild most of them were when they were younger, everyone grows up, even criminals, murderers, soldiers and rockstars and people who've been in prison. personally my own dad who's pretty "boring" sensible and was a tax man... but also used to be in a beatles style band smoking the green putting records out, i have a few of em, my mom who's this little old lady who knits blankets for her grandkids used to ride round on the back of motorcycles and has done substances even i haven't and never want to like one that rhymes with rack. old people have a lot of past, weird that people trust young rappers talking big game more than people who've had way more time to do stuff and lived their young crazy days and have receipts, shows you're never too old to change or to follow your dreams. i respect you wondering which parts are real and taking him seriously instead of just cracking old jokes, i'll check out more of your videos man, much love.

@@RetroQuinReacts He was sent to prison for 18yrs for a hit and run car crash where he killed a husband and wife and stupidly panicked and tried to cover it up. When he got out he discovered all his family were dead and his wife had taken his kids and no-one knew where she was. He spent a long time homeless and an addict but as with our boy Ren, adversity breeds artistry and talent "Shall I compare thee to a piece of shit" is a take on Shakespeare's Sonnet Shall I compare thee to a summer's day
