I don't see why you go to Miles, just to HOPE to smash on SWAC bands? Why not go to a SWAC school so you can smash on SWAC bands? I will say, however, Miles has a pretty pleasant assortment of Majors and Minors, almost (if not better than) Alcorn. I'd prolly argue BETTER THAN Grambling.

Band is a way to pay for education, and since metro B'ham has a population over 1,000,000 people then a lot of the kids are from there with some from other places. So it's about the education. Professor Snipes (Miles) does a lot of recruiting for the band, but it's a win-win for those kids since they get an education in the process.

There were 6 bands in attendance. Miles, Southern, JSU, AAMU, Talladega, and Bama State. They each did a field show, as well as a paired off for a floor battle.

@@jCo1 floor battle. Like come out the stands, and sit in these floor seats across from each other, while we let the DJ spin and the announcer ask "who we got in the house, tonight?" The idea sounds great, but y'all sat for 3 changes of them seats to decipher what you could've deciphered from them playing in the stands?
