Bengals really can only afford to keep either Chase or Higgins. Obviously you choose Chase, but regardless of what Higgins wants, they're not trading him, and they shouldn't. I wouldn't let him go for anything less than a 1st personally

Joe Mixon wasn’t the 3rd down back at Cincinnati. He is the first, second down guy and his pass protection isn’t good. But he is a decent, strong RB who can give you good yards. It was the right decision for both teams.

as a bengals fan, I don't feel like getting rid of mixon was a good move. I understand signing zach moss but they were signing him as a replacement for mixon which isn't a smart idea. the bengals are basically going from a pro bowl caliber RB (who be turning only 28 years old next season) to a solid RB2 (who is 26 years old) just so they can save 2 million in cap space. mixon wasn't the problem in the run game, it was the o-line. that's why mixon's YPC wasn't as good as could be. The only somewhat good reason that the bengals did this was to make Chase Brown the RB1 but if you are going to do that, then just give mixon less carries. doesn't mean they should get rid of him entirely. I think the bengals will be fine without him, but mixon being on the team definitely makes them better. downgrading that much at the running back position just to save 2 million in cap space wasn't worth it, especially since the bengals have one of the best cap space in the nfl.

The only teams who'll want Higgins will most likely be picking late anyway, this draft is stacked with WR talent all across the 1st round. Why would you want to pay Higgins 22-24 mill longterm when you can save hella bank on a guy with a 5th year option and have enough cap room to sign an additional good WR. The deep WR class is strongly going to affect his trade value especially for a 1st rounder. Most likely they'll get something like a 2nd and 4th

Houston has to find a replacement for Greenard to draw attention away from Anderson. Reuniting Al-Shaair with Demeco is also another big move

I don't think it was a smart move, maybe if they had before Free Agency started, by the time they shipped Mixon the RB sweepstakes had already started. Unless a guy looks like an elite talent as a rusher or skill guy like Bijan or Gibbs you can get very good solid backs in rounds 2 and 3 more and more these days. Weird to see a team plan to release a guy and not replace this tells me the Bengals have their eye on a RB this draft. My guess is they draft a guy to replace Higgins, potentially at 18. They passed on Sewell to get Chase so it wouldn't surprise me if they did something similar round 1.

Mixon is not really an efficient back. That's why they traded him. They gave him plenty of opportunities to have high volume and succeed, but he could never be an efficient back. More often than not he's running 20 times for 50 yards.

Tee Higgins wants a trade which idk if JJ wants out why wouldn’t the vikings take a first and Tee Higgins for him. They have all the pieces in place to acquire Justin Jefferson and pay Jamarr next year. Jefferson also just declined the vikings offer just food for thought
