This game is my GOAT wrestling game. It wasn't as polished as No Mercy, but the little stuff WCW had at that time made it special. There's a mod called WCW Feel The Bang that you might wanna check out. It's an updated WCW using No Mercy as a base. It has character unlocking modes that would be fire to do for videos

Revenge was the final wcw based game for n64. THQ had a multi-million partnership deal with WWE (then WWF) for their games afterwards up to WWE 13

Yoooooo I got this game and a N64 both for Christmas in 1998, I remember like it was yesterday. I was in 5th grade. My 64 was the two controller bundle that came with 1 gray controller and 1 atomic transparent purple controller. I played this game ALL day that day, and pretty much every day afterwards until WWF Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy dropped.

This game was the reason I saved up to buy a Nintendo 64 in Christmas 98.

The amount of homework I didn't get done because I was playing this.

Revenge had better near falls. The cruiserweight matches were great because of it

Amazing game! No mercy is better but in my opinion because it had the benefit of coming out 2 years later knowing what to improve on. Imagine revenge with authentic themes, more arenas, and branching single player story

I'd say play the John Cena showcase in 2k23 that's how you unlock all versions of him in the game. Also, there's alternate scenes in some of those matches if you lose. But if you win all you face Super Cena. which is the high overall lnvisible Cena he not tough to beat though.

No Mercy is Dark Side of The Moon but Revenge is like Sgt Peppers.

The only reason why I would pick No Mercy over the other ones is the simple fact that this is the only version of the game that you can do running grapple moves ie Austin’s Thess Press, Rock DDT, Huracanrana, etc (actually this game and VPW2) & grapple moves from the ring to the floor outside. Having another set of moves just adds to the gameplay. This feature continued on to the Def Jam games. Not available in the current AEW game which is surprising.

Man I'll never forget friends and I gathering around the TV in the barracks every Monday watching Nitro only to fire up this game immediately afterwards. Good times.

Who ever modded this version did a great job with the AI. The matches were actually fun to watch you just need to know the controls you'd love this game

This was the best wrestling game when it came out… however no mercy was a better version of this engine. The story mode was more in depth. They had CAW. More match types. Backstage brawls. Running grapples. Able to drop, pick up and throw weapons. Actual music entrance.

I enjoyed this game as a WCW Fan compare Wcw World tour I believe it was called that one was okay but I liked this game better enjoyed doing the championship and doing the battle Royal that was challenging cause sometimes I win the whole thing but sometimes I lose cause I played it on the hardest level of the game

I played this game with my uncle ,cousin ,and uncles 2 friends so many ppl on that nintendo controller around us at the time , uncle used to allways beat my asss i used to try to run but didnt work sometimes 🤣🤣🤣, but seeing games i used to play wit my cousins back then makes me wanna cry sometimes , only kuz those were the best times N times we cant get back smh😢

Only reason it’s not right there with No Mercy is because there isn’t a create a superstar, no running grapple moves, no backstage and the weapons disappear when dropped 😂 other than that, this mf was tough

You can cheese in this game by playing as a guy who has a submission "finisher" because they didn't need a finisher to use it. If you play as Benoit or Jericho the walls of Jericho and crossface could be used over and over again until the other guy tapped. Pissed me off when my friends would spam those moves with submission-style wrestlers.

Wrestlemania 2000 was the best for me. Most guys at school played it, and had it. After school I could go to several houses and it was definitely the most I've played multi-player on n64 besides goldeneye. No mercy was the better game, but the whole scene was gone and moved to other things by the time it came out. Never even played it outside of single player experience.

Best wrestling game for me. No Mercy is better as a game, but Revenge just came out at the perfect time. Me and my nephew and friends were watching WCW big time when this came out so it was amazing. No Mercy came out at a good time too because after finger poke of doom I got pissed off at WCW and was watching WWF at the time.

Revenge has such an awesome roster, but even then it is missing some key guys. Mongo, Arn Anderson, and of course Flair (damn lawsuit).... Plus they could have made the managers playable, Dusty and Rude... Plus they had a lot of well-known undercard guys like Bobby Eaton.

WCW vs NWO Revenge Had The NWO. WWE No Mercy 2000 Had The McMahon/Helmsley Faction. WCW In 1998 Had Over 30 Built Heavyweights. The WWE In 2000 Had 12 Built Heavyweights.

I mean, No Mercy had better features. Like create a Wrestler and Career Mode. But the Revenge Roster was WAY better. I have been saying for Years that if Revenge had a Create a Wrestler mode, it would have easily been the best.

Most of the people that love Revenge over No Mercy are bias to the WCW banner. I can hear it the responses. They are speaking with the hearts. Realistically speaking No Mercy is better than Revenge in terms of everything. I hated Revenge's character models but the roster was amazing. I couldn't get over height the depiction. The other Aki games had better character models. Hollywood Hogan character model is perfect example of what I am talking about. This is why I love the modding community they gave us our WCW nostalgia by creating mods like FTB and Starrcade using No Mercy as the base.
