Wash and Zoe- Meteor Shower

I know that all of my recent videos have been Firefly, but when I don't have any new inspiration, I always seem to find some there. I've been wanting to make a Wash and Zoe video for so long, but I could never think of a song to fit them (I'm not entirely sure if I think this song is right, but I had to make it anyway). They're just such a hard couple to fit a song, they're so unique. I don't know how Zoe and Wash got together, but it worked out well. One of the reasons I love Wash and Zoe is because their relationship isn't about drama; they love each other, are married, sometimes fight but work it through, and they have a stable relationship. It seems like most tv shows just care how much they can hurt the people in the relationship or add drama to it, but Wash and Zoe are such a refreshing couple. I hope I was able to capture what a wonderful couple these two are.
I don't think I really like the beginning of this, but school started when I was working on the first 30 seconds. Of course once school is involved I'm just glad to finish. So, sorry about the beginning and any additional glitches. I always watch the video full screen before uploading it and notice all of the problems, but I'm always too lazy to fix them. I appreciate all comments, and I hope y'all enjoy it!

IMHO what makes their love so compelling is the lack of drama; lack of question. The way they are written you KNOW that no matter what the script throws at them, they WILL be in each other's arms at the end of the day; figuratively or literally, until death. They are the rock around which the rest of the characters ebb and flow. Their love isn't the confused passion of Mal and Inara, or the nearly painful longing of Kaylee for her Doctor. It's that solidity, that steadfastness that made Wash's death such a kick in the chest. That Zoe wasn't permitted to mourn in any way was, for me, a lapse. I'm sure it was meant to show how strong she was, but, it didn't ring true to the oneness of Zoe and Hoban Washburne. The spear that went through his heart also went through hers. Her "business as usual" attitude after the fact was macho posturing for the fan boys. Another example of the "emotion is weakness" philosophy that boys are trained to adhere to. This time applied to a woman warrior.

What a pleasure to read your comment. Their relationship was definitely a rock. I wish tv writers understood that relational drama isn’t what makes a relationship compelling. These two are definitely a beautiful example and 100% what you said. It’s been ages since I’ve actually seen the movie, but I totally get what you’re saying. I think I interpreted her macho attitude during the reaver attack as more self protective in light of her initial reaction. The moment he died, all her soldier training and instincts were replaced by her instincts to go to him. Her begging him to get up cause they had to go felt very vulnerable, so her “he ain’t coming” later when Kaylee asks felt more like a compartmentalization. Like she couldn’t say more without falling apart, and she knew she couldn’t do that if they wanted to make it out. But who knows, I could feel differently now. The macho attitude is definitely a problematic trope in general. And I do wish we’d seen a little more during the funeral. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts
