This is a 1958 Superior-Cadillac Beau Monde Hearse with almost 27,000 miles. It spent most of its life in service until the late '80s, when it was sold off to a private owner, sold again a few years later, and then parked until today. We rescued it from a yard where it sat for about 16 years under the dry Sonoran desert sun. It's a little bit rough on the edges, but mostly in one piece. In this video, we take a dive into thick dirt and mud to make it shine again and hit the road! with expected old car shenanigans, of course. Thank you for watching!

I lived in a 58 Superior Hearse for a while in 1973. Air mattress and sleeping bag, curtains up at night. We used the car to move music band equipment. It attracted police like a magnet! It had a 4 speed automatic transmission, got about six miles per gallon of gasoline. The clock kept perfect time! The AM radio got Chicago from Michigan, Wolf Man Jack! That car was a real Cadillac, not like the crap built these days!

@@abimelecarellano2029 I have always loved the font on their logo emblems for the font that they used for this year, '59 and '60, especially the font that they use on the emblems for the doors! I also love the chromed "pie" windows that the 59 and 60 model years have! I don't know if your gonna be one of these pro car owners that despise Ghostbusters, but honestly I prefer a 59 superior Ecto over the traditional MMs for those windows! I had a ‘64 Superior Combination Ambulance-Hearse Cadillac. I had it restored from one that looked similar to yours (it was mechanically very sound) to fully cosmetically restored condition. I had red velvet curtains made for it. I added a sound system with rear casket compartment speakers. It was so much fun owning it! I’m sure you will love owning yours too. I imagine you have already discovered… that they use A LOT of Premium gas to operate as well, so unless you are well-off, it reduces the amount of times you can go joy riding. But I know you will likely love that big beast!

Hey there! first of all, my apologies for the inconsistency, life has been a bit busy these last year or so. The Hearse is doing great however! It's been a slow but steady build- All this time we've been working on it. It now has an LQ9 and transmission from an Escalade, larger throttle body, Holley Terminator EFI, Ford 9 3/4 limited slip rear end, disc brake conversion, floor and chassis reinforcement. We're still finishing up some stuff such as painting the bay, suspension parts, etc and then its off to get completely re-wired and we should be able to fire it up and drive the hell out of it. I have been recording the process and will do a full showcase of it once its finished!
