Washing and Cleaning a Vespa

Cleaning your Vespa, motorcycle, or scooter is considered as optional by others. But, take this as an important maintenance because cleaning it prevents from stains and rust, which is the most common problem for scooters like Vespa.

WARNING! Never ever apply tyre/tire shine products on the wearable part of the tyre! You will loose grip and die or get injured!! Either don't use tyre shine at all, or apply very little to the side walls only, then buff off the excess carefully so that none of it can creep out to the wearable part and prevent grip. Apart from that, this is quite well done. Also, don't hesitate to clean a cool engine; use degreaser & soapy water, then rinse and dry. Ideally follow up with an engine dressing for the hoses and plastic parts. It wont get damaged if you avoid high pressure water. This completes the job, and encourages you to find and hence fix issues such as the cracked/leaking/loose hoses (for air, fuel or coolant) which appear with time.

Bro I have same vespa sxl 150,i have problem issue in the front tyre one side wear, this is second tyre wearing one sided, do u have a same problem? Tyre is maxxis tyre

Is that a Matte finish? Do you not use a protective product at the end, with say PTFE? I recently got a matte and want to make sure I do it right.

Nicely done. A very thorough & detailed instructional video. I used to just wash my motorcycles at high pressure car wash bays taking care not to flood the electrics & air intake. It seems a little more care & attention is in order to properly clean & maintain a Vespa scooter but well worth it in the long run. Cheers from Canada. *Edit: Do you ever wax the body panels & painted surfaces? Also, I'm sure you know but don't get that tire blackener/shine on the treads of the tires. Very slippery & dangerous until it wears off & off course don't use any product on the seat to clean or condition it that makes it slippery; again dangerous as you will slide off while cornering or stopping.

Thanks a lot man! Well, we haven't done that to this Vespa. We just maintained it clean all the time. But if you're gonna ask me about waxing, it is not a bad idea. With a good wax product, it will make it shiny and protected from stains. Sorry about that tire shine. Yeah, it was my mistake to overlap that application to the threads. Thank you for that advice. I agree with that. The leather conditioner that I've used didn't have a slippery finish. A bit smooth but the seat is still grippy as it could. Vespa needs more attention especially inside since the chassis tends to rust sometimes when not taken care. But overall, this thing is definitely great. Thank you very much!! Waxing is a good idea specially if your vespa is the typical glossy finished paint. I wax mine and treat it like a car. Makes my vespa always looks like a dealership display

Hindi naman po sir as long as natakpan naman po ang mga electronic sensors, air intake box, mechanisms, at nakadiskonekta ang baterya, ok lang po linisan. Kung sa labas po ng motor ang tinutukoy niyo po, ayos lang naman po mabasa basta low pressure po at hindi po itututok papaloob ng makina po.
