Two novice riders having adventure of year by exploring Washington Backcountry Discovery Route (WABDR) in September 12 - 18, 2016.
Adventure begins from Vancouver, BC and we start of first day with 450mi/700km ride to Stevenson, WA where real adventure begins. In next 5 days we took on all the challenges available by WABDR and choose not to take any bypasses.
Despite the fact that it was my first full summer on motorcycle and my friend has been off-pavement once, we manage to stay in one piece. Yes, we dropped bikes at least couple times each, but it was all good fun!
Bikes: 2013 Kawasaki KLR 650 & 2003 BMW F650GS Dakar

Take a look at some of those views, the mountains, valleys and canyons, stretching on for what looks like forever, and it is easy to see what a small part of this world we really are. Excellent looking trip and video work.

Looks like a great trip! My friend and I are planning on doing that trip this September...can't wait! But that bear...ohhh, that bear!! Awesome you caught that on camera!

with a 800gsa you could do easy, there are stretches you can choose to go an easier way.

According to WABDR web June-Sept is the best time, some parts go quite high in altitude and wouldn't be possible in Winter or early-spring for sure. It's not a year round route :)

oh, what about tracked atv? if it is not closed by gates it would be a great atv spot

If you use Facebook, I would check with guys in "Pacific Dual-Sport Riders" group, they might have a better idea on conditions. I just have it done in summer and live quite far away from actual trail/terrain.
