Native Washingtonian here and a Philadelphia Eagles fan. Although I’m not that big of a hockey fan, I’m happy the home team caps won a championship for the first time in their history and the first DC championship in about 22 years. I was at the watch party here in dc and it was absolutely LIT! Great to be around all caps fans to celebrate!

As a Pens fan sucks to see Fluery lose but still glad to see the Caps take this one. They have been the top of our division for 3 years now I think and totally deserved it this year. Good to see Ovechkin finally get one. Now hopefully the team gets complacent and stops giving the Pens such a hard battle for next year's playoffs lol. Congrats Caps and your fans!!

rockvilleraven well after watching the onslaught of shots and trick shots the pens put on Holtby and he was just a brick wall. And watching TJ Oshie battle with the puck and be super physical to set up plays... they looked great but after these wins sometimes teams get picked apart (which is what I'm hoping for lol ) bit if the players that are able to leave decide to stay and make another run and no key players get traded. You have another solid chance.

i haven’t followed NHL for a LONG LONG time since back when Ed Belfour was playing goalie for the Dallas Stars.. i’m a Dc kat, so i’d always pay attention to em.. happy to say congratulations to the Caps.. it’s been a LONG TIME coming, & a very LONG uphill grind versus the Pens for YEARS back to Mario Limueix (or however u spell it) very happy for the caps.. STILL in shock that vegas has a hockey team.. like WTF??!!

Ovi getting his first cup by beating the Pens, Lightning(with lots of former Rangers), Vegas with his old nemesis Fleury is really beautiful and poetic.
