Жыл бұрынWASP played House of Blues Las Vegas on October 28th 2022 and had their second encore with ANIMAL and I WANNA BE SOMEBODY.
The show was amazing, I recommend that if you go do not choose the middle like I did, go to a side or a balcony so you can see around the ridiculous mic stand.
Everyone in the band IS SINGING, there are no "tracks", the other guys are singing when he is not singing and they are backing him up and he is also using a lot of vocal effects, reverb, chorus, etc.
As for the stage show, certain venues will limit what can be on stage.
He had a vintage "circus theme" for the back drops but also video projectors.
This tour celebrates their 40 years of music and that is reflected.
I think that when Blackie sings "ANIMAL" he is NOT singing the part of the song that says
"I Fuck Like a Beast" and letting the other guys sing that part, because, as he has said, being a born again Christian, he struggled with some of his old lyrics, so he feels like if he simply does say those parts he excuses himself of the responsibility.
I think it's a cop out, but in the end, it was amazing to see and hear it in person and the show was absolutely amazing and I would see it again 100%
The show was sold out and GA tickets were cheap, maybe $40?
I am not complaining. I had the time of my life.

@@videobobtv to be honest, I haven’t paid attention to WASP in a long time. I really enjoyed their early records and am only commenting on what I’ve heard in the press. I’m a look wats rooting for a band to kick it out of the park but…I do hope the succeeds and brings the catalog to attention of new fans.

If you look up videos of the complete show, you can see Blackie and the band running around the stage, making contanct with the audience, climb on the top of the mic stand etc. Very much a decent show even if some classic songs were missing. Lucky to see them play after two years!

Gents and ladies: WTF with all the criticism? The man is obviously delivering the absolute best shows he can! Why would he not? He's 66 and still bringing it. If you look up the press conferences and fan Q and A he explains the backing tracks. He also sincerely thanked his fans for coming together on the socials and shouting to the promoters to do the U.S. shows.! One of the greatest metal vocalists and songwriters ever! Don't diss - even if you think you could get up there yourself and deliver a better show! OUT.

@@RedArtistx If you see it from another angle, it looks cool and he is above it, but if you are 10' below him looking up it blocks his face. He may not realize it, or care. If they just removed the skull or lowered it, it would still look as cool but you would be able to see him.

Like if you want to see the mic stand go! In what way is it a good idea to have a mic so big that it obscures views of the lead singer?? And not just any lead singer - one of the founding members, and the only original member from the 80s that is still left. People have paid good money to see the this person, not to the mic stand and him swinging around on it. Has no one taken the time to walk around the auditorium to see how it's viewed by the audience?

If you look closely in some instances, vocals keep going when his face moves away from the mic. He's not singing live. I knew this was happening as soon as the video started and his face was obscured, pretty obvious.

@@piratestyleadventures7185 First of all. It isn’t my concern because I love it LIVE and if they can’t do it anymore then they should know when to retire. You didn’t see Dio or Bruce Dickinson lip syncing because they’re real singers who respect the idea of a LIVE show. I will always love the records but i’m not a blind spoonfed sheep. Second, most of the bands I love play 100% LIVE like AC/DC, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Rush not to mention Metallica is 100% LIVE. They’re known for their fuckups and you know that. So don’t assume i’m not a fan just because I don’t like a fake show. I’m honest and I know i’m in the minority. I know people nowadays don’t care whether its LIVE or not or whoever is in the band and embrace the FAKE. If you like it, more power to you.

Saw them in Boston and it was a great show. I don’t believe there were backing tracks but he sang most of the time and bass player and guitarist did an amazing job on vocals The guitarist can sound almost just like Blacky

I'm glad to see these videos - now I know that I'm not going to see W.A.S.P. on this tour. I hate when bands/artists overhype their shows. This is as far from what Blackie promised as it can get. The staging is cheap as hell (Any low budget band can do this). Backing tracks, 12 song setlist (including medley), and that God damn Mic stand... I'll spend the money on a band/artist that actually cares....

We're all just spoiled. If you came up in the 80s and 90s like l did. You're used to seeing these bands like wasp putting on great visual shows. Now it's just so expensive to tour. They seem to just take the cheap and easy way out with screens. And real fire in small clubs is pretty much forbidden these days. That mic stand was cool but certainly could smaller so we could see the only original member left. But none of that seems to bother me as much as the partial songs and the short set list. That's very disappointing. Especially for a band that hasn't done an official tour in the US for a while

There management botched this tour. Waay too small venues, wrong setlist. There coming back to play Dallas. They over booked by almost 2000 people. They'll be back through America next year. Revamped. Bigger venues. Better stage props, everything. They didn't think they'd be this big still here. Some people were pissed they sold out so fast everywhere nobody even knew they were playing.

I keep seeing comments about Blackie "Lip Syncing", the other guys in the band are singing with him. He has talked about how he is born again as a Christian, he has been pressured into doing "Animal" and you will notice he doesn't sing certain lines, he does this to avoid actually saying them, in his mind, he doesn't say them so he hasn't personally committed the sin. So he turns away from the mic on "Steal your love" and "Fuck like a beast" and other lines, the other guys and the audience fill this in. I am just happy they did the song because it was my favorite.

Blackie is not lip syncing. He is singing with a guide track. On the first verse he messes up and sings "Sheets" when it should be "heat". He also messes up the lyrics when he adjusts the mic right before that.

Did I miss the entire point of this video? It is great footage of a damn fun band from the eighties. Somehow the commentary has turned into a malignment of what is or is not happening on stage. I just saw them and they were excellent, with nobody faking it. All you naysayers are gonna get old some day too, good luck to ya!! I have seen more post 2000 bands mailing it in, using teleprompters, backing tracks and whatever else makes their jobs easier etc to last a lifetime.

Vocals sound great. Blackie didn’t really alter his look for this your which is what I was expecting. Personally, I prefer Blackie on Bass and it’s always going to be a letdown. Having said all that, I think the screens look cool. It’s expensive to tour these days and the band has a lot to prove to promoters. If the promoters lose money, this WILL be the last time the band play in the US. Appreciate the band for they are and enjoy the tunes.

He is. He refused to play this song for years. It was a big thing for him to do it and is only doing it because of the circumstances as a thank you to the fans. He also would only perform it if the context behind why the song was written and released was at the forefront. The context against what is currently happening was an awesome way to do this.

For what it's worth. I was front row right between Blackie and the guitar player. I think he was lip syncing. I was watching him sing. He has his mouth so close to the mic as if he is trying to hide his lips. One easy way to tell is time the length of his songs from show to show. (not the extended outro, but when the song is actually being played) KISS amazingly does Detroit Rock City the exact length every night on tour. I thought WASP killed it! Fun show, I would go again if they came around.

There are lots of videos from this and other shows showing him singing. He is NOT singing certain lyrics, that go against his religion, so to cope with it he has other people singing those lines. I think it's a cop out, but that's what he is doing.

They were never big and never played really big places on their own. They are playing House of Blues, that's not a big theater. It isn't a stadium. Shit, my cover band has played on HoB stages!!! He put up some decorations, had some projectors, a cool mic stand stage prop, he's in his late 60's and played for an hour and a half. The ticket was fucking $35. I am more than happy with the show. Guys like you don't deserve to be witness this greatness. Keep your bitch ass at home and play video games.

Charlie-Hi buddy, Like many bands from the 80s their quality faded after the 4-5th album. I consider Headless Children their masterpiece then the first album,Inside the Electric Circus and about Last Command too many teenagers filler songs. I really like The Nein Gods's but again both albums sound like 6 different songs only. Then after that there is always a song or two thats ok. Worst? Kill f d Helldorado About you man?

The band sounds fantastic. Hopefully he isnt lip synching like he was on the last tour. I do wish blackie would have kept his integrity by not playing this song, but that's out of my control. Thankfully it's an encore, so I'll head out before they play it in Milwaukee.

Half the songs on the first three albums are about sex. Wild Child is about an affair. Blind In Texas is about drinking yourself stupid. I don’t understand his aversion for so long to playing Animal. It’s no less “Christian” than half the other songs he’s always played. Only difference is the bad word is in the title…
