Love your ideas! I stopped putting my jewelry on my bedside table after my dog ate my diamond stud earrings. I got them back but it took a couple of days. I had to equip my kids with tongue depressors and offer a hefty finder’s fee to the lucky winner. Ah, life!

came to visit your vids after watching you on Nick Lewis talking about paint for 2023. I've been happy watching a lot of your vids this week and love them. You know your stuff and are completely yourself - fab you. I live in Perth WA in a social housing studio apartment for low income older people. I've had such a great time making it my home and looking around my space I see so many things that you liked and mentioned in this vid and the one about British design. I have wallpaper and mad hallway hooks and layers of colour and texture - lots have been thrifted. My brother calls my style maximalist; mae west; chinoiserie . Keep creating and enjoying your life xxxx Liz

Ugh Paige you have the best taste. Truly obsessed with you and your channel. A possible video suggestion: As a college student who's not *entirely* broke and would like to buy some art for her walls but can't afford super expensive original paintings, I think it'd be super cool if you made a video suggesting websites, instagrams, artists, etc that sell affordable-ish art. You always emphasize the impact that colorful, unique art can have on spaces but it's so difficult to find truly original art that isn't thousands of dollars.

I've found some outstanding original art at Goodwill, St. Vincent De Paul and thrift stores for next to nothing (under $10). It takes some hunting, but you never know when you're going to get lucky. I just found a framed autumn landscape-so beautiful-for $3!

I found a beautiful vase for $5 today. It’s stamped and my research is leading me to believe it’s collectable somewhere early 1900’s to mid century. I picked it up turned it over saw England as a part of the stamp. I was just there in London and came home empty handed. Long story but I recommend hole in the wall thrift stores because someone at Goodwill would have scooped it up.

Not gonna lie, I almost ALWAYS put on my makeup in my car. Like drive to work, park, put on on makeup. Obviously my "routine" doesn't consist of a whole lot (I put on moisturizer before I leave the house).The light inside the car (aka sunlight) is excellent for tweezing hairs and the mirror is inches from your face. It's ideal.

Re the jewelry bowl: recently I put my guest room together (after almost 2 years of living here). There is very little space next to the bed and on the wall across from the bed. I had thrifted some of those ledges that are plastic, look like crown molding, you know. I painted one the same color as the wall and mounted it under a wall mirror (there's no furniture against that wall). Also on one side of the bed I put two small identical ledges, one above the other. I thought they'd be good for eyeglasses, jewelry, or a drink if someone's lying in bed. Actually, I remember something. MANY years ago I saw a house in House Beautiful mag that had an idea I loved: over the sofa was a big painting, and flanking each side of the painting were small ledges--they were those gilded, Italian kind (wall-mounted console brackets). On each ledge was a large glass hurricane (just a plain cylinder) with a big white candle inside. It was so simple, but so cool. I copied that in my apt at the time...this was circa 1996.

Yes to swivel chairs! I’ve always liked them. Interesting to use for dining space. And I laughed on the utensils thing. Great video and ideas. From college to my current home I moved 18 times for work and family. I made sure to get comfortable in each space which made the moves sort of fun. You seem to be on a similar journey. Floor candle holders: gave my set to a friend who had admired them 20 years ago. She was thrilled. Medicine cabinet: purchased the large Pottery Barn MC and had the carpenter RECESS it into the sink wall of a new 2nd bath. It nearly matches the original. Ashtrays: surplus junk before legal MJ now they are cool collectibles and used! Loved your sponsorship...

I’m a new follower of your Chanel. I saw you on Nick’s the other day and I think I found the designer I resonate with the most. I will often doubt my design style which I think is very eclectic with a contemporary thrown in there. I grew up in a very traditional home with British flare and also during the mid-century modern time (I’m showing my age) We bought a lake house in summer 2020 so that is when I discovered designers on KZfaq. We had some major renovations done in our bathrooms and converting a screened in deck into a four season sunroom (I live in Canada, we get four distinct seasons.) The problem I am having is pulling in all my previous decor & furniture and buy new. I have a miss mash of things from my mine & my husband’ mom & grandma. Listening to this video and another I listen to yesterday I am feeling more confident with mixing in the old with the new. Plus I am obsessed with picking up drift wood from the shore. I need to do me and not try and copy all the latest treads.

I was at a friends house and her kid had a new toy. It was a chair that spun around I was jealous. Soon enough I came across an old office chair that height adjusts and spins, I love it but it takes up so much space, I need a cooler version. as sooon as I find one of those club spinners, I am all over that. I love using my candle sconces, one disco party we ended up with a wall of purple wax. Worth it. "Burnin' down the house" Forever I had this cool set of three black iron candle holders of varying height, loved them, it was like an instant mood. My accordian mirror was a gift from clients and now I couldn't live without it. Looking forward to your new place. Thanks

The first pieces of furniture in my very first apartment in the 80s were two antique single-drawer drum tables my grandmother brought over from New York. They are what informed my space then and still do. They are the same size but one sits on casters has a leather top with a gold leaf border and the other has brass paw feet. They make excellent end tables.

I have a tall teak bar cabinet that I had custom made a few years ago. It holds a ton and looks like it came from the set of Mad Men. I also like a large round table used as a beside table. It’s perfect if you really only need a table on one side. You can put a table lamp on it, a stack of books, a plant or vase of flowers….very English country home.

Yes to medicine cabinets! I was browsing the sale section at West Elm the other day (I know, I know) and happened up two rather nice looking medicine cabinets and said to husband out loud, "whatever happened to medicine cabinets?" and immediately proceeded to buy one. We've installed in our tiny bathroom and have absolutely no regrets.

Honestly you've opened my mind to so many cozy interior tips that I hadn't even thought to think about! Thank you! Could you suggest what to do with a living, dining, office room wall that has a desk with two monitors on it? The dining table is right beside the desk and we already have 4 honeycomb shelves over it. I don't know if adding one long shelf (for books, plants and a painting) over the desk would be too many shelves. The only separator between the dining table and the desk will be some kind of an indoor tree.

in terms of beauty advice, i love your natural look, it really suits you, your personality and (assuming) practical lifestyle. you do give off a 1970's/90's vibe, id say the only thing is adding a little color to your lips like a natural pinkish color. that's advice i always give, no one can go wrong w a bit of lip color!!! i love using the "neutrogena revitalizing lip balm" it comes in various tints and its a sunscreen for your lips with an spf 20 :) i find it practical for me and dont really consider it makeup since its purpose is sunscreen :D

Completely off topic but still: Love the colour of this blouse on you! Brings out your beautiful eyes nicely. ☆ (I also love dark green on you (sth. like the colour of (dusty) malachite or dark sage..)) Great video! Please keep on doing those. ♡ Love my dark/cherry red mid century entrance wall hooks. (Like those black ones in your vid.) And I think about using them in an other area, bc. I don't see them with all the coats & jackets on..😐 Ideas? ..Kitchen maybe.. Yes, I will get me one or two iron chairs for the patio. Love them but never had one. They are beautiful. Only thing I can't agree on is the floor ash tray or -candle holder. I try to get as much off the floor as I can. And even more that is an esp. annoying think to knock over!! 😁 Edit: 14:04 killed me!! 😂 (And to maybe answer your question: You don't need much. Honestly. And if you feel like doing make up, emphasis your amazing eyes! A tiny bit of dark, dusty blue or green kajal eyeliner* along your lashline (fade/soften it out a bit) and black mascara. And a bit under eye conceiler if you like, as you already do. (*Maybe check out one of those: *Astor* EyeArtistKajal, 093 GreensShimmer; *Manhattan* Eyemazing Khol kajal eyeliner, Go Green 87Z; *Catrice* Khol kajal 270 Welcome to the Jungle & Longlasting Eyepencil 060 Moss Undercover; *Alverde* Kajal Eyeliner 09 Smaragd & 12 Saphir. L'Oreal Voluminous (×3 or ×4) Mascara black. ..There are people who say you can't do blue or green on blue or green eyes. But trust me, that's not true, *I SWEAR!!* )

I'm so with you on putting on make-up in natural lighting. When I do it in a bathroom with a ton of that bright, fake lighting I think my make up looks good, and then I realize after seeing myself in natural lighting that I look like a scary clown. Totally agree on a foyer table not just being for that one space (although I love them there, too). My grandmother put hers in a corner between 2 chairs, and not only was it practical but the way she decorated it was incredible. She should've been a designer. Shout out on the, um, different reasons you might want to get a floor ash tray. Hmmm, wonder what that could be for lol. Count me in! Oh and a big yes to hanging artwork over a window. As long as it doesn't block any incoming light and is the right scale, I think that's a fantastic idea and adds character. Looking forward to seeing your parents' apartment, just by their fireplace mantle and bookshelves I have a feeling I'm going to love it.

If I were you I would get a good tinted moisturizer or tinted spf (not a necessity though bc you have good skin!), under eye concealer, brow gel, mascara, and a cream blush that you can also use on your lips. An extra thing would be cream bronzer- I don’t like spending a lot of time on my makeup and bronzer doubles as eyeshadow. It’s not too dark but adds a little something. Lmk if you want specific product recommendations! I’ve been waiting for the Emma Chamberlain video! Lol AD just released one today with Rita Ora and her house that was built in the 1800’s. I don’t love all the decor but the actual house is pretty amazing. And you’ll be obsessed with her garden!

A bold lip and some mascara would really up your makeup game with very little work! I'm super makeup lazy, but people always think I'm dressed up because I wear bold lipstick and a little mascara. I use the ilia tinted lip balm, because it's very moisturizing like a lip balm but bold in color and has the staying power of a lipstick. I put some on my cheeks and my lips and call it a day. Then I just put the tiniest bit of mascara on the ends of my top lashes. Super easy. Low maintenance. Donezo!

I have a midcentury teak diningtable - it really brings a lot of warmth to the room. I have also been looking at wall candle sconces lately. What really surprised med was that you have to register before you can vote ?! That must be one of the reasons why you have such low voting turnout rates in the US. In Denmark you just get the voting paper in the mail when there's an election, with the location already assigned to you based on your address..
@naomania3619
@naomania3619 Жыл бұрын
How do they know the person is eligible to vote? Or can anyone vote in Denmark? Even foreign nationals? If I was staying in Denmark for work would I automatically be sent a voting paper? Here in the UK people need to be registered on the voters roll. Once registered a voting card arrives ahead of the election with a unique number and the location of the voting booth. Regular forms are sent out to addresses to enable voters to update who lives at that address that is eligible for voting. It's certainly not automatic. What happens when you move house in Denmark? Or is the voting based on the address rather than the occupants?

How would one install artwork on a window? Dying to know bc I have floor to ceiling windows that look out onto a beige abyss. LOVE your videos Paige and I really want to show you my newly thrifted floor candle holder I think you’d be very proud.

I had an iron floor candle holder for a pillar candle in the 90s. I was much more thrifty and maximalist back then. Paige you would probable have like my style then. Very much a minimalist now with a love of Art Deco and mid century modern.

I’m so happy this is your most recent video. I just moved to LA and am taking my sweet time to decorate my place. Part because I’m being picky and part because apparently there’s a furniture shortage or it’s all a scam.

I ahead so much iron in the 90s not sure I can go back. Chrome so 70s. Reminds me that you give some great Ali McGraw vibes.

“if you’re not really a maximalist but admire that style” that’s me! I’d love to hear if you have any tips for how to make a space ~appear~ maximalist :)

You might want to watch Lisa Eldridge for Makeup tips. She is a Make up artist from England and thus much more into natural looking makeup compared to all the heavy makeup seen on American makeup accounts here on KZfaq.
