For over 40 years, Waste Management of the Inland Empire has kept Riverside County clean. This video features the largest of the three hauling facilities WM operates in the Inland Empire, WM of Moreno Valley. With an impressive fleet of about 170 trucks, it’s no surprise that there are some rare birds that cannot be found elsewhere in Southern California. Currently, MoVal services the cities of Moreno Valley, Menifee, Sun City, Murrieta, Wildomar, Banning, Beaumont, and many small unincorporated cities within Riverside County.
On site is a hauling company, transfer station, materials recovery facility, and a state of the art maintenance facility. It really is awesome to see all aspects of the waste industry right here on one lot. This yard has developed so much over the past years and now, even has a public CNG fueling station.
(0:00) - First up, we start with a quick walkthrough of the yard and maintenance garage. In 2011, Waste Management received a LEED Certified Medal at the Gold level, so it’s a very high tech and advanced shop. Just looking inside it is amazing. It’s well-lit and temperature controlled so it’s always at 65 degrees.
(3:20) - Next, we start approaching the Moreno Valley Transfer Station. You get an inside look at the tipping and sorting floor at (5:27). This smaller facility has improved so much over the years. They now have a commercial sort line installed and the diversion rates are quickly going up. Crazy stories we heard about the sort line - multiple guns have been recovered in the line, along with an 18-foot snake that clogged up the entire conveyer belt (yeah it was that long…), and a live RPG that shut down the whole facility when it was recovered. Amazing what people throw away. Either way, a round of applause goes to Diesel and the rest of the Recycle America team for their hard efforts!
(12:45) - After leaving the transfer station, we decided to hang out in front of the transfer station and we were able to see a good amount of trucks dump their loads right in front of us. Sorry about cutting some shots short; a few drivers came up to talk at times. We got to see Ismael and Dave again, two drivers we met on our first trip to the area back in November.
Last thing I want to discuss is my favorite part about this yard - their fleet. Obviously, they have tons and tons of “Think Clean, Think Clean” garbage trucks that they have received over the past few years. Here’s a breakdown of what they have:
-Peterbilt 320 Amrep HX-450 ASLs (2010-2015s, including one former Orange County truck that serviced La Habra)
-Autocar WX Amrep HX-450 ASLs (2009s)
-Volvo and Autocar WXLL Amrep Hardox FELs (ex-H&C Sharp out of Hawthorne, California)
-Autocar WX Heil Pythons
-Autocar ACX Amrep HX-450 ASL (only one in their entire fleet & is also a former Orange County truck)
-Autocar WXLL Amrep HX-450 FELs
-Freightliner Condor McNeilus AFEs (CNG converted)
-Autocar WXLL Leach FELs
-Volvo WXLL Wittke FELs
-Freightliner Condor Leach & Wittke FELs
-Autocar ACX Heil Freedom FELs
-Autocar ACX Amrep HX-450 FEL (only one)
-Peterbilt 320 Amrep Roll Offs
-Peterbilt 365 Amrep Roll Offs
-Freightliner M2 Roll Offs
This yard seems to be the demo site for Southern California. You’ll notice that they have a little bit of everything and even trucks you can’t find anywhere else. There’s so much more to talk about their fleet, but I’m probably one of the few who really cares, so if you want to find out more, leave a comment below.
Huge thanks to Miriam Cardenas for setting up this tour for Kevin and me, as well as Diesel for touring and explain the operations to us! It was very informative and I learned so much on this tour.
Comments and likes are always appreciated! Lots of time went into editing this, so I hope it was well worth it. Thanks for watching!
Tour date: January 22, 2016

Great video! Looks like you guys had a blast. My favorite was seeing the trucks unload, always enjoy watching the trucks dump! Impressive to see that practically everything is on one location. Crazy to hear that a snake was found on the line, really wonder how it got in someone's recycling lol. Wow that maintenance shop looks so high tech lol. Enjoyed everything in the video! Excellent job putting this together.

Great video Aaron, That was such a great day! Lets see, we started out by getting up and close to Burrtecs Amrep mini, we saw some great WM trucks in Baldwin Park. Went to Prince and saw some oldies. We found the Superlight that we were talking about non-stop since November. Found a ex NEWCO route with carts and dumpsters that were still blue with a NEWCO logo. We found a Heil Python (not the conveyer belt python) and saw Dave again. And then of course all the awesome trucks in the video! Those are some good clips inside the MRF. And that is so cool how the Wittke/Leach at 4:05 has both side and roof mounted cng. Both Diesel and Miriam were great tour guides that had some great information and stories about the yard. That is sure one nice state of the art maintenance facility too, that yard sure has grown over the years.

Another Awesome video Aaron! These yard tour videos are some of my favorite videos your channel has to offer haha! Love that WMX logo on the fence at the beginning and that Python looks good. Their shop is so clean and looks so nice and organized! Agreed, they certainly do have a cool fleet, those condors look sweet! Especially the ones with the side mount CNG tank. Never have I seen so many WM 320s either haha because most yards have a mix of different trucks haha, definitely some good looking 320s too. Especially the older 320s with the grille cutout. Their FL fleet is cool too, lots of WXLL there haha. Loved seeing the trucks unload from the front as well. Highlight for me in the video was seeing the inside of the transfer station and the overhead shots of the trucks unloading! Man those condors sound nice when unloading haha. Also loved the shots of the line of trucks waiting to unload at the end! Great video once again Aaron!

Wow, so my yard does still have more than one Python. I've seen 102880 like 20 times but never any other Python.. thought maybe they'd gotten rid of the rest but I guess not. One of the newer Wxll HX450 FLs does the dumpsters all around me now and the driver of the WXLL "original" Hardox FL is super friendly. worth a stop if you ever see that on route. I still need to get video of that truck some time, just a matter of not being lazy. lol And I love the sound of those Condor Wittkes flooring it. Got to hear that echoing through the otherwise silent valley around me since I moved here. Or I did up until recently since the Amrep comes now. That sound has been engraved in my mind, I could identify those trucks anywhere lol Yet another thing I need to get video of.. Great video Aaron. It was neat to get a better look into this yard. After all, it is the first place I saw WM from as a child lol

+3amrepmike3 Haha yeah I was glad to see MoVal had several Pythons left. Of course the one we saw on route that day just happened to be 102880 lol Glad to hear the Hardox driver is cool! That's something I definitely want to see (both in person and hopefully on KZfaq!) in the near future. Those Condors sound really nice, and I feel like CNG might have even made the sound more unique and memorable. I do wish they had some hooked up to Curottos, that would be pretty fun to watch. Hope to see some video of MoVal's trucks from you soon ;-) Thanks a ton Mike, real glad you enjoyed the video!

Nice video! I enjoyed all of it. Unfortunately this yard is way too far away from me, which lowers my chances of ever following these trucks... but luckily most of their residential fleet is just 320 Amrep HX450s. You had some phenomenal still shots thrown into the mix here, some of which are worth a frame in a WM corporate office in my opinion. Also a considerable difference in the different loads of recycling dumps, although some looked cleaner it still looked like there was a good amount of contamination in there :/. Does that facility sort the trash dumped there too? About the fleet... that Condor/Leach at 2:08 without any side markings was pretty cool. Don't see that too often from WM. And do the Volvo WXLLs hook up with Curottos to do residential? Looks like this was a success. And when you have the chance, it would be neat to see an "updated" tour from the Master of GI's yard with all their newer trucks coming in and all.

+SoCalGarbageTrucks Thank you! Haha that's what I do during Christmas time, I frame up a picture and send it to some of the yards that I keep in touch with. Appreciate the compliment on the pictures, really means a lot :-) Yeah I believe they sort through some of the trash, but not all of it. Too little space here for that lol That naked Leach was actually in a fire recently, hence no logos on the side. I'm quite surprised it hasn't been stickered yet, but I agree, it does look really good like that. Correct, the WXLLs do residential with Curottos, we saw some very fast ones back in November but didn't film any sadly. An updated GI tour is in the works ;-) I have about half the video done from the December visit, so hopefully I'll be able to finish it up within the next few months.

great footage. the mechanics garage looks clean; the converted Leach FLs looked nice especially the top & side mounted, Peterbilt 365 Amreps nice lookin rigs, that side mounted Peterbilt 320 Amrep ASL looks clean on top, what year is it? Peterbilt 320 Amrep ASL #104497 has a sister truck down in SD, Alex got footage of the truck. Also saw they got Peterbilt 320 Amrep ASLs in the #104700s. Does the Baldwin Park & MoVal share the same numbers #103800s? Orange County should of sent the trucks from La Habra to MoVal or other yards in So. Cal instead of selling to CR&R Environmental, its good MoVal got some trucks from OC. Where those green Curotto Cans scrapped? It seems like OC, SD, and MoVal got trucks in the #105100s

+Trashman590 Thanks! I believe the side CNG Pete is a 2011. Oh cool! I wonder if the sister unit has old school mirrors? Almost didn't recognize it as a 2014 lol Yeah, funny thing, I believe MoVal had a whole bunch of 2012 Petes in the 1038s and sent 7 to Baldwin Park, 2 to Corona, and kept the rest. Of course, they just had to send all the ACXs to Baldwin Park lol At least one of the ex-WM trucks that they have in La Habra is actually from MoVal lol They sent the ones with bad chains/arms to Santa Ana, who sold them to CR&R I guess. 103240 is the one I believe. Lmk if you wanna link or something. Yeah sadly it seems like they are moving away from residential FLs :( yup, I believe you guys got the new 1051 stuff, no one in LA has any of that as far as I can remember. Thankfully we waited for the classic mirrors to come back before buying new trucks ;-)

TruckMan 64 - what's with you responding to other people's comments? King Dolla was asking me a question, and I already answered it five months ago. You aren't in charge of running my channel so don't respond to things unless they concern you. I normally don't have a problem with people responding to others but both times you've commented on my videos, they have been rude and do not concern you. Until you learn proper commenting etiquette, please do not respond to others unless you have a question when on my videos.
@WMmaster626
@WMmaster626 7 жыл бұрын
Ever think that king Dolla is new and does not know much about what I post? No one was rude except you. What makes you think the KZfaq community needs YOUR help anyway? You literally started being active like 2 months ago and you're already treating people poorly. All king Dolla did was ask a question and I responded five months ago. End of story, there was no need for you to even get involved. Go ahead and comment on other people's videos for all I care, it's none of my business. I hate getting annoying comments too, and unfortunately, whatever comments you've been leaving on my videos are very annoying. So think about that for a little bit, and if you want to argue more, then go ahead. And good, I think a break is what you need. Hopefully you mature a little bit during the time you're gone.
@WMmaster626
@WMmaster626 7 жыл бұрын
Did I say you were rude to me? NO. You were rude to other people on my videos, so it most definitely concerns me. My channel, my affairs, and if I needed or need help, I ask people. I have no idea why you would feel the need to respond to someone five months after I already answered their question. I already told you, I don't care if you reply...just not on my videos because you haven't said anything constructive or nice. And do you really know all the answers? Maybe I will upload Republic Services videos one day, I don't know what the future holds. Ah the blame game...I'll play along. No, it's not my fault. YOU'RE the one who commented on MY video, and if you would have just minded your own business, then none of this would have happened. Think about that.
@WMmaster626
@WMmaster626 7 жыл бұрын
I don't understand the replying community...and yet I've been on for over five years and you have only been on for a few months? Sounds logical huh. Also, go back to my first reply to your comment and read it again. I said "until you learn proper etiquette". And like I also said in that reply, I'm fine with people commenting and responding to others on my video...but you need to learn what is appropriate to comment. Yeah you might not have meant to be rude, but commenting "never" to king Dolla came across as rude and was unnecessary. And again, in my first comment back to you, I asked you to PLEASE limit what you commented on my channel, and then you told me to "shut up and stop thinking this is all to yourself". So if that's not rude, then I'm very confused.
@TruckMan64
@TruckMan64 7 жыл бұрын
There is no point in minding your own buiseness on KZfaq. This is free to everyone, anyone can make a KZfaq account. We can all make replies to people's comments unless they have the setting where you can't reply to their comments. Just like on famous KZfaqr's channels, pretty much there is a reply to almost every comment. So basically, you don't have to mind your own buiseness on here. And when I said "never" to King Dolla, It was only like a joke. I understand it is unnecessary, but I was mostly playing around. I was never expecting you to get all serious and say that I haven't learned proper commenting. What's wrong with a once in a while joke? I really don't get how I was being rude. And on Daniel's video, you said that I told someone "English comments". How is that rude?! Most of us speak English here, due to the map of how many people from the United States are on KZfaq. You never know if they speak English or not. So don't boss around and say that people can only speak a certain language. I am very confused of all these things that you have been doing a dumb way.
@WMmaster626

You know what dude, I've already spoken my mind about my channel, my rules. So I don't know why you keep coming back to fight. If you don't like the way I work, then don't comment on my videos. Then we won't have any problems. There are plenty of other videos for you to patrol on where the user won't mind so go have fun with those instead.
