Loving this game so far. I have a hard time playing Fallout 1 and 2, due to the perspective, but I find this a lot more playable. I like the pacing a lot more than Wasteland 2 as well. Almost done with the game and I really have to commended InExile for their writing. Normally when I play an RPG I feel compelled to choose the morally good option no matter what because the "evil" and grey options are always too over the top. However once things got a bit grey I ended up supporting a character that I would normally kill on the spot to the determent of another I really liked. And it's also really amazing how used a loose plot thread from the last game to achieve this greyness.

Loving the game after 20 hours. I’m impressed by the balance between depth and accessibility. There’s plenty of choice and consequence and a lot to learn when building your characters, but it also does a great job with tutorials and getting you into the swing of things quickly. As you mentioned, I think it does a better job at this than other recent CRPG’s like Divinity 2 or Pillars of Eternity. It’s just got a brisk pace to it that makes a huge RPG like this feel a little less intimidating. Also, infinite inventory weight! What an amazing change compared to most other western RPG’s.

I do hope they add an option to toggle those, more hardcore elements on, separate from the difficulty setting. I was really bummed out by the shared inventory pool, especially in combat. It just didn't feel right, in fact, it cheapened the experience for me.

This is the first time one of these CRPGs really hit home with me. Mmmm. Not sure if I agree with Ghost_Troupe. Maybe they just play way more games than me and have seen more ‘modern bs’ (not sure what that means). @@Harrison11106 Sadly it almost certainly does. Simply for the fact that PoE2 sold very poorly, something that still completely baffles me since I would put it right up there with BG2 and PS:T as one of the greatest CRPG's of all time. Given the fact Pillars wasn't making money and Outer Worlds did so well, I wouldn't expect to see any more isometric games from them unfortunately. Excellent video! I'm loving this game so far too - only about 20 hours in, but there's literally nothing I don't like about it, other than some of those sporadic technical issues here and there (like one fight against 3 razorbacks somehow dropped my fps to ~20, when I run at a smooth 60 against 7+ Payasos - very weird). I could go on for hours on how much fun I'm having, but suffice it to say, the combat, story, characters, chracter-build systems, and just overall "feel" of this game are top notch - great balance of dark humor, and just...dark scenarios in general. That Randy Gett quest at 3:11 man...I was thoroughly uncomfortable at the end of that one, and I love this game for making me feel that way I also like what you said about the combat - I find myself favoring strictly turn-based CRPG combat these days (e.g. Wasteland 3, Divinity OS 1 and 2) over traditional pause-resume combat (e.g. Pillars of Eternity, Baldur's Gate). I think it's just much easier to really flex that "strategic muscle" without being bogged down by random issues like being in bad position because the AI decided to path strangely, pausing just 1 second too late to re-issue orders, and now one of our characters did something suboptimal that might cost you the fight, etc. In Wasteland 3, if you're out of position, or whiff a move to the point of no return, it's more often than not because you made a poor and/or needlessly risky decision (which I've done on several occasions, costing me entire encounters at times).

I remember the first true gameplay trailer they showed, I believe it was last year?. Was really mixed in terms of reception because people saw it was too humor based and the tone was wrong. Nothing further from the truth, the game has super dark tones and mixed crazyness like Wasteland 2, it is Wasteland. So far it's been great for me. Everything I loved about 2 is here, and they got rid of some of the obscurity when it comes to for instance skills and what those skills do. Like initiative dictating which character will come in which turn and how far could they move, but there was no way of knowing for sure before a battle. Was kind of annoying. It's a fun game, and for anyone like me who never played the original Fallout 1 or 2 and always wanted to have something like that, this is it. As I've said Wasteland 2 was great, this one is the natural evolution.

I'm not really a fan of CRPGs. Or haven't played many. But this is so easy to get into. I've put so many hours into this game so far. And I barely just got to Denver. I love this game so much. I hope that their next game is a 1st person RPG. And they keep it just as complex.

I hope that if they make a first person game it is a different IP or a spin-off. I would play the heck out of it! But I wouldn’t want them to stop making Wasteland as a turn based RPG. We can have both can’t we? :D

One Tip: In Wasteland 3 you can have Custom Avatar Pictures for your Rangers. It works the same as for Wasteland 2. Look for the folder were your savegame Folder is in: ...\Documents\my games\Wasteland3 There create a Folder named: Custom Portraits In it you can post the Images that should become your new Avatars, BUT they not should be bigger then: 256x256 Ingame, go into the Character creation Menu and look for the Avatar Pictures. Normaly there are 3 Points under the Pictures for three Sides. This will expand, so there will be more to see and use. Have Fun creating your own custom Crew ;-) (If you still have your Wasteland2 Custom Avatar Folder, copy / paste it over. It should work just Fine.)

Awesome, thanks!! I knew you could have custom avatars but wasn’t sure if you could use the same ones from W2. Now all we need is a save editor >.>

Can someone explain lucky actions? I thought a lucky action was when you do an action then it doesn’t cost anything because your AP are refunded to you. What I don’t get is why do I get a lucky action at the beginning of combat before I even do anything or any action? Like it’ll say “Combat Started” then all of a sudden I’ll get a lucky action right when it’s my turn and I’ll get 1AP added. It’ll be before I even do anything though, so how am I getting that 1 AP if I didn’t do anything? Lucky action is supposed to refund AP, so how am I getting one refunded to me when I haven’t even done an action?

I've been having quite a fun time playing it, I thought the long loading times were due to my potato (which the game keeps insisting it is below minimum specs, even though I run it at medium/40-ish FPS), the only complain I have is during conversations. You have to constantly click, space bar or enter to move forward, instead of letting it flow naturally, stopping only during choices (as is in every RPG). The conversation boxes seem too clanky, I feel they could be streamlined (I don't know if that was an aesthetic type chosen to be more pleasing on console).

I ordered Wasteland 3 for the PS4 and I also ordered another game Car Mechanic Simulator. I figured with me being a mechanic I would enjoy it. The CMS came in a couple days before wasteland 3 did and I'm now so hooked on Car Mechanic Simulater, it will be a while before I get to Wasteland 3

I actually just did a replay through Wasteland 2 directors cut last month to satisfy my old fallout tactics nostalgia. I never even expected W3 to come out. I'm very happy but will wait a bit to get it I think cause I'm a bit behind and started Batman Archam Knight and Control this week.

I wish the Co-op wasn't absolutely broken, made it 15 hours with a friend on steam and the entire quest line reset, like we still had our gear and our levels, but we went back to ranger HQ and The Patriarch is there with a Dorsey tied up and everything, old radio messages the whole nine yards, def waiting on a patch before we continue.

I'm not very far because I've been mainly running sidequests, and raising the money for my next objective but I'm loving this. Wasteland 1 was my second RPG and while I like most of the Fallout games I've played (Basically everything except for 76 which I have no interest in) I've always felt the Wasteland series deserves more love, and hopefully this game will lead to that coming. What's funny is we went opposite with our Animal Whisperer concept. Yours is a brawler while mine is the team sniper.

I want to love this game but I feel like I’ll have the same issue I had with divinity original sin 2. I can’t get immersed into a top down game, the combat feels so off. If anyone has a good recommendation that would change my mind let me know.

Just picked this up a few days ago and noticed a few bugs that you mentioned still In the game, wall humping, random noise keeps happening like I've uncovered a secret booby trap or dig spot, on xbox the combat system is janky (especially the stealth attacks, party management, sometimes trying to select an enemy to attack doesn't work properly) switching to the map screen causes my tv to flicker purple for 1 second and then it shows the map and modifying a weapon or armour doesn't bring up the menu and you have to reselect the option. It's a shame because I really enjoy this game, never tried wasteland before and I'm glad I decided to play it just wish the devs had patched some of these bugs as they are really annoying.

Glad I got the game recently. The loadscreens are but a few seconds. The "problem" was with the DLCs because I got the GOTY or whatever and started steeltown without knowing it was a DLC. Not that it had any negative effect other than the loot being lower level, but I didnt know that so whatever. Overall a great game I will be playing for a very long time.
