New Peterbilt 520 McNeilus ZR from Republic Services

One of two new ZRs at Republic's Sun Valley yard. This Peterbilt/McNeilus combo has become pretty standard in Republic's fleet nationwide although this is the first one I've seen with the Momentum CNG system. The tank cover looks a little ugly if you ask me but overall a sleek looking truck nonetheless (especially with the capped and polished rims). In the past I was never a fan of the ZR as this arm design had its share of issues back in its Pendpac days, but McNeilus has beefed it up a little bit and smoothed it out making it noticeably better if you ask me. Not bad in terms of speed too. The driver said he likes it but still misses the Rapid Rail he drove prior to this.

Great video! David's definitely one of the better operators out there, he can move pretty dang fast in any truck he drives.

Great video Tony! This guy sure knows how to take care of a truck! Looks great with all chrome bits. Although I’m always sad to see older trucks get pushed out, I’m sure if anyone deserved a new truck it was him! Nice catch with the driving shot around 2:15! I like seeing these new CNG trucks struggle going up hills, lol. Beautiful scenery too! Great Video!

Great video Tony ! Very entertaining truck. Not bad at all just the tank .The arm was very nice and goes fast . This truck looks great with the rims . Great catch Tony !

I wish they’d go back to the old tailgate and take off that tag axle, but it’s still a great truck! That wrap is so cool, reminds me of our fair share of those that we used to have out my way. Excellent video, I love all the cool shots you included too! Keep up the great work!

It seems like a lot of people are going to McNeilus nowadays, It's rumored that the City of San Antonio bought a few ZRs.Great Video

Surprised La Canada hasn't got upset the trucks are now branded AW. Wonder if they will they will add an AW logo on the door like they did for the Republic Vegas truck

Awesome vid! David sure knows how to make a truck look amazing. RR was nicer looks wise but ZR is more fun to watch imo. Always glad to see footage from LCF too, beautiful city and seems like there's some pretty neat carts there. Any idea what they plan to do with his old truck? Saw it sitting by the shop a couple weeks ago, hoping they'll keep it around. Hope to see more video from here! Great job!

it's still sitting at the yard I believe but idk what their plans with it are. Apparently the fact that it's right hand drive only is the main reason they pulled it out of service, so depending how much they enforce that policy nationwide it wouldn't surprise me if they part it out instead of sending it elsewhere. Wow another Republic divison with ZRs. These trucks sure are taking over fast. Glad to see David in anothet video! A henderson driver told me that these trucks are great on trash but not so good on recycle. They like these trucks but still prefer their pythons because they are faster and are used to it of course.

Aw damn it I really wanted to see 2661 again. Have to admit this truck is way faster and looks nicer except the fuel tanks. Pretty cool area to film in to. Got lucky that Republic has the most stops. Other than that great video

Are there any horses in this area? It would be interesting to see one of these on horse crap. The driver is pretty fast too! The CNG tank is bugging me though, have they ever heard of side mount tanks? Lol great video

no horses in La Cañada as far as I'm aware. In order to make room for side mount tanks they'd have to put the hydraulic tank and batteries on the curb side of the truck and they probably don't want those too susceptible to damage with the arm right there. Thanks!
