ネイトさんが、日本の良さとかを話されてましたね。ネイトさんや奥さまに、感謝しました。私は、日本で生まれ育った事を誇りに思いました。日本はこんなに、素晴らしいんやって、あらためて、感じました。寿司🍣が大好き💕で、やっぱり日本食🇯🇵一番やなって、和食が良いなって、そう再確認出来ました。ネイトさんと奥さまは、すてきな夫婦やと思いました。ずっと仲の良い夫婦で居てほしいなって思いました。色んな事を感じたり出来た動画配信でした。ありがとうございました😊

Hi, Nate. This post came up on recommendation, maybe because I’ve been following Mr. Karl Benks, the architect who’s been reviving a dying village in Niigata (yes, the area you stayed in on your 1st visit to JPN). You’re another amazing "gaijin" who’s been contributing so much to the Japanese community. Your multi-talent is jaw dropping. Your Japanese proficiency alone is exceptional, but you also have remarkable gymnastic ability, and you’re a doctor! Your being a vegan surgeon reminds me of the late Dr. Ellsworth Wareham. Yes, I’m also vegan (or rather a VEGANist). I moved from JPN to NZ more than 25 years ago, allured by its natural beauty and slow pace. As years passed, I came to realize “the dark side” of the country : animal cruelty and violence. Since I went vegan, I’ve lost lots of friends and mates, who are all meat lovers. I suddenly found myself to be a “public enemy No.1”. Yes, it’s not easy to be a VEGANist in a meat-munching culture, but I firmly believe I must do what I know is right. I can tell you love vegan sushi made by your beloved wife (Lucky you. Such a natural woman!). I once thought sushi has too many calories, but I learned some time ago that cooked rice loses half its calories when cooled down. [Cooling Some Foods After Cooking Increases Their Resistant Starch] Amazing isn’t it?! Yes, knowledge is power. Thanks again, and keep up your good work.

HI Jim! Thank you for the compliment! NZ is a beautiful place that I definitely want to visit. Thankfully, in recent times it looks like plant based lifestyles are picking up steam and integrating into societies around the world. It seems that not just with eating, but in general people have a great deal of resistance to changing habits, especially long held ones. As you have probably noticed, when you start digging into the study of diet and eating you realize there is a whole new world out there, and much of what was traditionally accepted as fundamental fact goes out the window, haha!

@@natesadventure5315 : Hello again Nate. Thanks for your reply, and sorry about this belated follow-up. _ Do you find JPN easy for plant based lifestyles? I’ve heard that veganism in JPN is falling behind and is not a good tourist destination for vagans. It is ironic that JPN used to be more or less vegetarian until it ended its isolationism. Meat-eating culture came with Westernization. Actually it was synonymous with modernization, and the Meiji Emperor himself showed the public how he enjoyed eating meat to encourage meat-eating culture thereby modernization. Now, the Japanese need to unlearn it. _ Yes, most people live with inertia, unable to be self-critical and change for the better. _ That’s culture and tradition, which can justify even the most horrendous activities and rituals. Humans are products of their environment. That said, humans are fundamentally different from other animals in that we can change our circumstances with intelligence. But alas, too many humans refuse to do it as if they have no or little intelligence. _ Too many people, like Trump, are not just un-scientific but rather anti-scientific. And yet the earth moves - Galileo I said, you reminded me of Dr. Ellsworth Wareham because you’re vegan and a surgeon. Actually, when I saw your looks and physique, I immediately thought you looked like Robben Ford (guitarist). The resemblance is striking, when he was much younger, that is. And, if I remember correctly, he’s also been vegan for a long time now. It may be safe to assume that skinny Americans are more likely to be vegan.🧐 It's well past midnight here in NZ. Oyasuminasai.

久しぶりにこの番組？を観ました。面白い女性に変わっていて、臭いの話で笑っちゃいましたが、このネイトさん、キッカケは小さくて、案外どうでも良い理由でしたが、大変な努力家で、実はスゴイ人。そして歴史的なモノや、生活のヤミというか性というかそういうタブー的なモノにも好奇心が旺盛。努力家であると言うところに奥さんも信頼を置いたのでしょう。そして１度しか無い人生をまっとうさせてあげられる太さ。奥さんも触発されてなのか努力家。良い夫婦です。自分らしい働き方。こういうメンバーシップ型ではなく、ジョブ型の働き方は、日本人を変えるでしょう。どんどんこういった新しい人生への向き合い方、ネイトさんは努力家なので、好きなところに努力をこれからもして行くのでしょうね。５年後10年後は予想していなかった夫妻の姿があるかも知れません。また、ケニアの男性も、そういった面白いドラマがきっとあるのでしょうね。なぜ日本に？

高橋栄子と申します。88歳です。HTLV-1関連脊髄症に9年前になりました。現在は肺気腫にもならなり、背骨が痛く背骨で呼吸するようで苦しくて、起きているのが辛いのです。大学病院で見てもらいましたが、直らないと言われました。整形外科では解らないでしょうか。お伺い致します！

東京駅から小平に行くのに、武蔵野線で行くって...どんな。１時間40分もかからないよ。中央線使うとしても電車だけなら40分。乗り換え入れて1時間みればいけるのになぁ。
