This was great fun, thank you. I would appreciate seeing how the connections are made, the cables and inputs, and to what the amplifier is connected. Basically, it'd be helpful to see how one goes about making this work in every detail of set up and connection.

Yes, Zero DB would be unity gain at full output. Not very large speakers for that power...

Search for used high end / esoteric type electronics being sold for parts or as is, versus Mac equipment being sold for parts or as is. No comparison. Some of this so called high end equipment is only a few years old. Macintosh build quality may be second to none. Maybe not all their products, but most.

You should NEVER ever power a vacuum tube amplifier up without a load attached, that's even more stupid than someone leaving the foam inside, that can easily damage output tubes and at 75 bucks a piece for new jj EL509S tubes, thats pretty expensive, let alone getting them matched in a set, not only that, you can easily damage output transformers due to unbelievably high voltage on the primaries that will build up too, An Amp that expensive should be fully understood before buying... You should always have a load attached to a tube amplifiers output terminals, doesn't matter if it was powered up for only a few minutes like that, especially with an Amp the costs as much as this one does... If you sell equipment, this should be told to every customer. Be careful with your own amps too my man, I'd go into far more detail on the subject, but I doubt you would like a full book on the subject. For solid state amplifiers, this is fine, for tubes, absolutely not.

While not advisable, as long as there's zero signal no harm can really be done. What makes this less safe than it might otherwise be is that for this amp, neither the balanced nor the unbalanced input is grounded when disconnected the way it would be for a guitar amp so it's at least theoretically possible that some EMI might get amplified.

@@datka3 too bulky huge massive. Don't like the Handel's, looks cheap. Prefer 4 or 3 inch slimline with rectangular sharp corners retro oldskool design. You can add 2 Poweramp too justify it.
