Thank you for this helpful tutorial. I have managed to get a 2-minute video to work in its entirety on my DSi with no issue. I also managed to get a full movie to work on it much better than my 3DS for some reason as it only allows me to encode 10 minutes of it at a time before it stops working, whereas with my DSi the full movie can run no problem even though it takes absolute ages to get a single movie encoded onto it.

Bruh so now that I did it again in 2024 everything worked but when trying to launch the 3ds goes “you need to update this software before you can launch it” like how would you even update that exactly????

So i have a theory, whats stopping me from just not using the NDSForwarder to forward the converted ds video file, on to the 3ds hme screen? I have had issues using this one, but i used the dsi method and it worked i can finally watch back to the future parts 2 and 3 on my ds now 🙌🏼

when i try to drag the video into the .bat file, it doesn't show the right terminal that your on. it just say press any key to continue and just closes terminal and does nothing else. could anyone help me with this problem?

I'm trying this, hope they work! Tho I'm having a bit of a filesize issue on the DSi tutorial. I see that your video has a quite low-sized fv file of 8.5 mB from a 118 mB one, while mine actually increases from 203 mB to a whooping 542 mB file, sheesh! Also with an 84 mB file to a 283 one. Is there a step in between to have them lower in size like you have? Thanks in advance!

I tried it with the best quality video and it just didn’t output. I then did it again with 64 and it worked but when I put it on my ds the banner doesn’t appear. Also I get a display error anytime I try to open it

hiii! this was a great video!! Though I did run into some problems with the 3ds. Firstly, I wasn't able to put on my own sound as the program didn't recognize the wav file for whatever reason. Though that could've easy been one of my own errors. And another bigger issue. Once I got the cia file on and installed, when I tried opening and playing the movie, I would just get an error screen instead and I don't know whats causing it. The movie is just over 2 hours long, so maybe that could be it? If so, is there any way to get around it or any other way I can get this working? I'd love some advice!

if you have th issue of video file not found just rename it video and when typing in file name put video.mp4

Well... There is no sound... I created a video channel in Citra emulator, but there is no sound. I haven't tried it on a regular 3DS. Please help me, I want to make sound in Citra emulator.

It's been loading (I assume) for a while I am going to try and just keep my computer on overnight to see if it works then but if not is there like a work around or solution to make this work better?
