Was going to say the same... Les Stroud is a true survivor expert, while Bear Grylls jumps around just to create drama for the people watching at home... Plus all the stories about Grylls spending his nights at hotels... I'm definitely not an expert nor can I even start to compare myself to these guys, but when I watch a survivor show I like to believe that the guy is being realistic and not going around spending his energy just to give the impression of "action" ...

Les goes in alone...no crew...nothing. I’d rather take a practical survivor than a “textbook” one, if we’re talking about credentials.

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Bear himself and I can confirm that he is truly humble and very upfront about his achievements, not boastful or self centred whatsoever. He also has an Iron grip! (Nearly broke my recently fractured hand again...!). Although many people trash talk him for some of his shows it has to be recognised these are only products from multinational companies and he cannot control how they use his name to an extent, and the mans got to make his bread somehow. I would advise reading his autobiography it gives much better insight into his gritty life particularly when he was younger. Thanks for the cool video blackscout

........? I would tend to heavily disagree. As he pointed out you can find direction with an analog watch. Also, time can be a valuable thing to know in certain situations. He even mentioned one pretty good for disinfecting water. Silly comment. Is it absolutely needed, no. But is it a valuable asset...of course.

I looked at this watch along with other models from them, at closer look what there calling corbonx is a fiber reinforced plastic so at just over 800 for that watch I passed on it. Wish they would have chosen a better case material at dam near a grand one would expect they would. I wanted tritium and better case material so I settled on the hazard 4 watch as its titanium case with tritium tubes. Not sure how it will be however I'm going to find out. That being said please do a update in the future of this I am curious how it does if it actual holds up may look at it again.
@jamisgood213 жыл бұрын
I personally really like the supre lightweight case material. But does anyone understand how insane it is that it has a 300m water resistance in a Chronograph?!?!?! That's not really done by anyone. That is an incredible feat. And then the tritium is very expensive as well. 300m is impressive on non chrono watches...

When I think of survivalist I think of Les Stroud. I am not discounting Grylls survival skills or his equipment which is, no doubt, excellent. However, as we all know, much of what Grylls did on Man v Wild was faked, and his crew did a lot of the work. On the other hand, Stroud went out into the wilderness alone, and survived on his own. Big difference. And personally, I prefer the G-Shock, but that's just me.

Bear Grills is great and all, but he openly admits to staging his situations. If your looking for a real "In the moment" survivalist then it's DEFINATLY LES STROUD!
@BlackScoutSurvival4 жыл бұрын
Sorry but you do know I work as a consultant for shows? All is staged. ALL. Les is still a nobody compared to grills. Les couldn’t pass SAS training and he hasn’t been to the top of Everest. Bear did it when he was 16. Don’t believe TV buddy.

@@BlackScoutSurvival Not to be mean but Bear was actually 23 when he hit the of summit Everest! That 16 number is a common Internet mistake --- BUT it's actually 23 ~!!! _. Anyways, I STILL THINK Les Stroud has done more "Outdoor Expeditioning" because the climate is so much harsher here than elsewhere and he goes out more often completely alone. Only Australia is a worse environment where EVERYTHING tries to kill you! Even the lichen and grubs on the ground! _. V
