Unfortunately, I do not ship bunnies at all anymore. Since United Airlines stopped allowing rabbits in their PetSafe program, I haven't been able to ship bunnies...and I actually am glad since it is quite stressful for them (and me!).

I’m going to adopt a holland lop she almost a year old and the reason I’m going to get her is because she is really loving and an attention seeker and I volunteer at the shelter where she’s at so I get to see her. A lot of the volunteers that have seen me and her together say that she loves me and she picked me❤️🥰

Volunteering at a shelter is a wonderful way to get to know whether a certain animal will be happy with you ❤️ Also it's a great way to help animals even when they're a kind of animal we can't adopt (or can't adopt yet).

Same here. I've been asking for one since I was 17, I'm now 21 and they finally said yes in January, I got my baby a week later from a shelter. She is 6 years old, I love her to bits and it took a few months but she now cuddles with me on my bed :) I cant imagine life without a pet ever again. She is so precious. So full of personality and love. As much as I'd like to have a baby from a breeder because I know they were raised used to being held etc I feel proud knowing I saved a bunny's life from a shelter, she lived her whole life in a small cage and cant get enough of running around our house

Same, but my mother doesn’t like animals. So I’m doing my best to explain that I can responsibly take care of them, and I catch her watching bunny videos with me sometimes. And my mother knows I wouldn’t bring a animal into an environment I know they wouldn’t be safe in. When I got my first pet (it was a fish), it was big surprise. I won them, and my mom had to take them. It was one of those fish’s that were meant to live any longer than a few days because they are me at for food. I kept that fish alive for two years, because I put my heart and soul into my taking care if my pets. I have no pets at the time, and I live in an apartment. I’ve found that bunnies are a great animal for me, and my situation.

I don't know what kind I have. He's plain white. I found him in my yard 3 weeks ago during quarantine in Florida. I heard the neighbor girl crying about losing him so I gave him back to her and told her that if she didn't want him she had to give him to me. Three days later she came over and asked if the offer still stood. I went next door with her and picked him up. I got him fixed 2 weeks later as soon as the vet opened up again. I have named him Rona. I think he's a rex. 3 weeks into this I decided to try growing my own romaine. I have spent a months rent on everything. This video is where I will send anyone I hear say "I want a rabbit".

Thank you for adopting him! Sometimes people like your neighbor get a rabbit without knowing the care they'll need. We've rescued several different animals over the years, and it's usually because people bought the animal without doing research first. Love to you and Rona! ❤️

Thank you!! I cringe when I see people put rabbits in the "small pet" category; they live a long time and require so much work!! While rats, hamsters, and other small pets require more care than people expect, even their proper care isn't on the level of what a rabbit needs; my bunnies take more work than my dog. I love my bunnies so so much, they are my babies; but they do their best to destroy everything I own 😅😅

I love the section about not picking bunnies as a hasty easter present! Anytime someone I know talks about getting an easter bunny as a pet, I tell them to look into rabbit ownership first, having had firsthand experience that it can be a challenge to get a bunny without knowing what to expect and planning ahead. The dutch rabbit I had when I was younger was a hasty easter gift a friend of my mom's bought for her sons without thinking that my family ended up with, since the bunny couldn't be returned and the friend had no plan B for what to do with the bunny. She was super cute and I loved her despite the unique demands she presented as our first bunny, but it's sad to imagine what her fate may have been had we not been able to take her in. A few years ago, we had a situation where we found this super pretty solid black domesticated bunny in our yard that clearly one of our neighbors had decided to release (likely another not-thought-out easter present, since we found her around April), not realizing that domestic rabbits are very vulnerable and won't just thrive like a wild rabbit if released into the woods. We spent a good half an hour catching this bunny because I knew if we didn't, she wasn't going to make it, what with all the hawks and foxes around. Luckily, we caught her in a large fishing net and were able to find a home for her with an experienced rabbit owner the same day.

One day, when I'm more financially stable, I'd love to get a Holland Lop for my first bunny and possibly a Netherland Dwarf for a second. I'd like to get already fixed adults as my first bunnies so I don't have to go through the more trying young bunny period as a new owner. I would consider adopting from a shelter. I was hoping to only have one bunny for a few months before I got the second so I'm happy you suggested this! It would give me time to adjust to caring for my bunny, get to know my new pet and also give the new bunny time to adjust as well before throwing another bunny into the mix on top of the move, new routine and owner change. I decided on the Holland Lop as my first bunny as I've read they're generally a little calmer than Netherlands. Not sure if there's any truth to this or how likely a Netherland and Holland would be to bond, based on breed alone. I just love both breeds, it's hard for me to pick between the two.

I'd say that individual temper has more to do with it than breed. One of the most laid-back buns I have owned was a Holland Lop, but his mate (yes, they were a M-M couple!), another Holland Lop was one of the most aggressive. Fiercely territorial, he even once attacked a French Lop I had just taken in. That was scary! The French was even more laid-back than the other Holland. I called him "Lobbes", which roughly translates to "Big Softy" :D

I rescued my rabbit from a shelter exactly a year ago. I am in college and he is my ESA and I can say he has had a big (paw?) in saving my life. He is my best friend and I could not describe how thankful I am that I made that decision. Since he is a rescue, he is very timid and doesn't even like being pet, but we are working on it, but also not forcing it. He will gladly take treats, so positive reinforcement is key. Thank you for such an informative video. I make sure that any friends considering a rabbit understand that it is not the same as a hamster or dog or cat, but also a great addition to your life if you are in the right circumstances!

I have a small veggie patch which she takes great delight in nibbling. And I don’t mind at all, she also seems to love eating marigold leaves, which surprised me and does not have issues. I am a 72 year old widow so she gives me great pleasure. Thanks for your very informative video.

I have two lionhead/holland lop mix rabbits named Willow and Juniper. They are brother and sister from the same litter and I'm happy to say they are best friends! They have free roam of multiple rooms in my apartment but I very rarely see one without the other. As soon as one hops to another room, the other follows. I had them spayed/neutered as soon as the vet recommended (they were 3 months when I got them).

This is so awesome. I have mentioned here that I have been in rabbit rescue for over a decade. I see the consequences of situations of people who DO NOT follow your recommendations. This is so timely with the Easter season approaching. In the rescue world we call this time the "Easter Massacre" because of the hormonal changes ... it is a radical. The rabbit is suddenly abandoned and mistreated. THANK you. Nose bonks! 🐰🐰🐰🐰

I really wanted to bang my head on the table for emphasis when mentioning rabbits as Easter gifts, LOL. A lot of adults are well-meaning with such gifts, but unless it is a well-researched decision, it often ends with an unwanted rabbit. :(

Hi First of all i would like to thank u from the bottom of my heart for such a wonderful video Am planning to buy a bunny for me and was searching on the net for some information on caring the pet. This video gave me a lot more than what i wanted... it was really informative.. I was searching for videos from indians but found only from breeders or pet stores goving tips for bunny breeding business. Very few videos had info in pet bunnies but all of them have their pets outdoor. Am staying in an apartment and wants to get a bunny to stay with us indoors. Wen i asked a fee of my friends they said bunnies eat cabbage leaves, carrot, green grass and all vegetarian food cooked at home including rice. This video cleared all my doubts and gave a real idea of how to take care of my new family member. I have 3 kids and am training and teaching them how to behave and also what will the bunny expect from us. I often see here that kids carry bunnies by their ears and walk around and pet them. Now onlyni realise that bunnies dont like to be carried. Likewise so many myths have been clearly explained.... thanks a lot once again Ps... u have suh cute bunnies... and u r such a lovely pet owner... God bless you and ur bunnies!!!! Keep up the good work!!

I totally agree for kids ages 8 but mostly 7 and below, - ( Mine is my Emotional Support Animal because I have anxiety, panic attacks and OCD but not severe OCD but you can tell it’s definitely there 😂) - But it depends on how mature they are. I have 3 cats a kitten and a rabbit and I’m getting a baby bun lion head today, and I’m only 11. I naturally took care of my rabbit when we found her outside she’s a Holland lop we assume someone dumped her we found her last year on December 22 or 23, and she’s around 2 years old or 2 and a half almost 3 or exactly 3. I change her litter box and remind my mom to buy veggies and parsley we get a pre washed baby spring mix, and I feed her. And I clean the cats litter boxes most of the time, and feed them but me and my mom share the responsibilities. Except for Creamy my rabbit, and the kitten eats with the cats now same food now. So my mom doesn’t do anything really with Creamy my Rabbit. I do everything and I bring her harness and leash when we leave and I hold her and walk her and calm her down by petting her 😊 Sorry this was so long! I hope you read it! Stay safe and healthy everyone! And you and your rabbits and their babies! And their husbands and wives 😂🤣😂

I got my first bunny when I was two years old. She was my best friend, and became extraordinarily tame. When she was running and playing in the garden I could call her, and she would come if I called her by name. She was a very happy bunny. If you think your kid has enough empathy for animals, and teach them to be cautious, its a great pet for smaller children from my experience.

My parents got me a holland lop when I was 10 years old. Not the smartest decision and she was 6 weeks old when we got her so she was too young. However I did the best I could to take care of her and she lived 12 years! They certainly are a big commitment! So many people think they are small animals and therefore do not live very long but that is not the case with rabbits! I remember being 21 and caring for an elderly bunny while in college and it was a huge responsibility that my parents had no idea they were putting on me when they got Flopsy. I miss her but we had 12 amazing years together. Now that I'm older and done with college, I'm hoping to get another rabbit next year and plan on adopting from my local animal shelter.

Hi Diane, I'm a foster bunny mommy for the RSPCA and your videos are awesome. Most bunnies are babies when we take them on and training them to interact, be happy and feel safe in a new home is our aim. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and tips.

This was great! I've been watching bunny care videos for about a week now. I had a lovely lionhead who died recently. I did a ton of research while I had him but he stilled died of GI stasis. After digging deeper I can see the mistakes I made :( . I feel really bad. I miss having a bunny but I'm not sure if I'll get new bunnies or not. Ultimately I just really wanted to learn more about them. Thank you for providing this guide.

My first rescue was a New Zealand REW, my next was an Angora Lionhead, third was rehomed to me, and forth a little Netherland dwarf came from an accidental litter. Then I got into rescuing and rehoming bunnies and now have a 5th Holland lop, because he bonded to my baby girl. He's a baby himself

I live in Arizona and was thinking about getting a Holland Lop. Did a lot of research and was able to find a good farm. She actually is a seasonal breeder so I'm hoping to adopt by August. I'd love to take my rabbit outside in my neighborhood or park to run around and play foraging games. But the heat and prey mentality worries me. Also there are owls and eagles so I'd have to be extra careful. Luckily no coyotes in my area that I know of.

Our family became friends with a teacher from school who went and got two chinchillas for their kids on a whim, but had no clue how to take care of them. Eventually the teacher had to move and gave us the chinchillas for free. She had them in a small plastic cage and it was just terrible. The eldest chinchilla passed away recently, and my two pet rats are reaching their first year(rats live 1-2 years) so I am preparing to get a new pet. I do like the look of rabbits.

I'm going to adopt an American mix! His name is Mitty, and he's a little stinker lol. His fosterer claimed he is very independent and prefers to not be picked up, and I'm perfectly okay with that! That just makes watching him do bunny stuff even more special 💜

I agree, i dont think any type of small pets are good for children because they are so fragile. Parents should let the children be around medium to large dogs that are gentle with kids. This can help a parent teach what is and isnt okay.

I have been absolutely considering getting a rabbit, but as much as I know that I would be able to respect their space and not sneak up on them or anything, I have this feeling that my home would probably never be safe for them. I obviously wouldn't get a rabbit while I have my cat, I'm convinced that would... not end well. But On top of that my home is just littered with electronics and things that I fear that they would chew on. I'm surprised my cat doesn't if I'm honest. The rabbits are adorable in every way. I'll revisit my thoughts on this in a few years of course (My cat isn't close to passing yet!). But I Thank you for this video and the information on how involved caring for a Rabbit will be, it has been enlightening!

I think so many people get a bunny thinking it will be this cute little snuggler. They also don’t expect them to get as big as they do or that they chew and dig. I learned so much that there were times I asked myself if I really was the right mom for a bunny. However, once I adjusted my expectations (actually ditched my expectations!) and did 3 months of research beforehand I couldn’t wait! Ok, one expectation I kept........the only thing I had my heart set on was a Dutch or a Lionhead. And into my life comes Ralphie......a 6 month floppy eared lop who picked me. He licked me within 5 minutes of meeting him. He’s from a rescue and we’ve been together 3 weeks now. Thanks so much for your videos and the information. I truly appreciate the time you take to not only breed wonderful buns, but to educate people extensively so that they don’t go into bunny parenting blindly. Since I started my journey, I have turned into a bunny advocate and educate those who, once they find out I have a bunny, exclaim how cool it is and that they want one too! I let them know how it really is.....kind of like having a two year old!

Thank you for this video! It's been such a plethora of information that I wish I had known in the past when we had a bun bun. We had a mini lop that we named Lily, and she gave us an amazing 6 1/2 years, and she became besties with our beagle, Abigail (Who wasn't much bigger than her), to our complete and utter surprise! I would like to get another bun bun again, and I absolutely want to be as informed as possible (especially with the GI Stasis and the signs to look for. I suspect that it's what took our Lily-flower, and we never even realized, because her diet and activity never changed.) We recently lost Abigail, as well (old age), and I'm looking into either a Holland Lop or a Netherland Dwarf. While Lily was amazing, we didn't realize that she would get so big! We were told she was a Holland, and she was really a Mini, but trust me....she was NO mini! Lol! However, even if we do end up with a slightly larger bunny again, it wouldn't be a bad thing at all. Just more to love on. Thank you again, for your informative video, and I look forward to watching the rest of them!

Hi, sorry I'm so late to this post but I've just found your channel and I find it very helpful and informative! I'm 13 years old and I live in Australia, and I currently have two Holland Lop doe, and we are on the lookout for a Holland Lop buck, so that I can start a breeding business. I know I'm only 13 but I am very responsible and have experience with other animal breeding such as chickens and dogs. I especially like your videos about the pregnancy of a rabbit, and how to care for the babies, because that's what I'm preparing for.

Thank you again and again and again Diane for sharing your experience and knowledges. Bunnies are living creatures and each one of them has his own character (people around me cannot imagine it !) and unmissable needs ! Living with, caring a pet is a true responsibility ! They are not toy you play with as you want then let them on their own ! It's a real commitment that will last many years for the best . I agree 100% and I am so relieved as you beg to not welcome a bunny as a gift for a child's passing fancy and whim ! I'd like (to be true I want, I expect) every people who think about a four-legged friend's adoption to watch your video .You are definitely a Bunny Godmother 🐰🧚‍♀️ (It should, no it must have an Holland Lop rabbit in the emoticon, darn ! )

Be careful about choosing to get a rabbit, one can lead to another and another! My first was a rescue, read about rabbits being happier if kept in pairs, hence rescue rabbit #2. Then, one day, I happened to browse the Humane Society's website. Snow, was a New Zealand who had been there for three months and nobody showed interest, due to her pink eyes. Guess where she lives now? And, of course, it was determined she needed a partner in crime, so back to the Humane Society I went. Mocha, is a totally adorable Satin rabbit, with fur softer than silk, and a personality to match! Fast forward a couple of months, when I discovered Washington State Rabbit Rescue, and made the mistake of 'just browsing'. Up popped two Holland Lops urgently in need of a home or they would be euthanized. So, they have now joined the other two pairs in their own separate pen in the double garage. I think Diane could possibly have been an influence with all her adorable Hollands, how could I not have at least two? Moral of the story is that adopting rabbits can be highly addictive, and involves trips to the feed store every two months for bales of weed free Timothy hay, and pine pellet bedding. The good part is that I have plenty of rabbit manure to share with my neighbour who is an avid gardener. Cleaning out bunny litter boxes is not my favourite part of the process, but I have to say that just spending time with such quieti gentle creatures can be very theraputic. And, they all have unique personalities that emerge when one takes the time to really get to know them. Be warned though, trips to a good Exotic vet can be expensive if one lives on a limited budget. My last trip, just for an exam was $69.00. Good thing, no other care was needed. And, thank you to Diane for a great video about what she feeds her rabbits, really excellent!

Loved this video! It really confirmed my timeline about when I should get a bunny versus when I want to haha. It's sad because I have no problem doing the work, but I'm still in my last year and half of college, so my resources are limited and travel would be a thing as well.
