I do like my privacy but I like the fact that if my robot gets stuck I can usually get into the camera mode and manually drive it out to safety.

Thanks for the video. Since I have mostly hard floors and the only carpets I have are the height of doormats, so very low would the S7 maxV be a better option for me than the S8? As it performs better on hard floors, and I have a lot of debris to pick up on a regular base..

Nice and detailed review. Unable to detach mopping bracket is a bummer, it's not as convenient as S7 when wanna check the mop cloth or remove it to put in the washing machine in a few weeks time.

Mopping pad is always removable in both S7/8 versions Problem is the possible mole build up in the water tank, search in KZfaq, you will find some case reported

How well does it mop edges? A lot of the robots I've looked at don't get within a few inches of objects/walls. This one looks a bit wider on the mop bit though?

Thanks for the review. Got a quick question: what is the working height? I know it is 9.65 cm high, but I don't know if that is the maximum height (where the LIDAR sensor is) or the minimum height. I currently have a Xiaomi Mi Robot vacuum. With our new kitchen it is just low enough to push itself below the drawers in the cabinet and then scratches its way out of there. Would be nice if the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is either high enough it will bump into the drawers and move along or low enough to go under them and find its way out of there without leaving any scratches. Thanks in advance!

For Roborock's it's around 3.8 inches (more or less) at the tip of the LIDAR cover. Covert that to cm, that's 9.65cm. For the robot to clear the opening, give it a buffer of a few centimeters, provided the surface is flat.

Great review as always. I still don't get why roborock always claims these high pascal numbers while in the reality seems to be much lower. Would be interesting to see some type of crevice pick up test since the airflow is getting lower (despite what the company says) every new robot release.

Crevice pick up is almost non existent

The reason the suction is lower is because there are now two heads and the opening is 2x wider so even though it has a slightly higher pulling power it is now distributed in an area that's twice as big leading the suction per area to be less than before even though overall section is higher which leads to worse pickup but it's worth it if you get a dual roller like above because that leads to dramatically better carpet cleaning

It's because the rated Pascal power the manufacturers give is measured directly at the motor. Remember, the suction has to go through a filter plus the rollers, which is why the suction is lower than the manufacturers claim.
