It allows a persons to step back, review all of the pros/cons you discussed, and of course, your experience during your journey of purchasing your Sanctuary. Definitely re-thinking my thoughts on all lithium vs solar with a propane backup. I did like that you mentioned that lithium systems are getting better. The 19L for me, is too confining, but prices are super competitive. All in all a great change of pace review!!! Keep it up, can’t wait to see more as we get into Spring and Summer, as you start more off-road adventures.

Thank you so much for these reviews. I enjoyed watching it. My favourite from the lot is number 6, I loved the layout, the bathroom (sizeable with a flushing toilet), the freshwater capacity, the TV and microwave included, the kitchen countertop, generator, sliding screen door and overall quality.

Extremely well done review. However, a combo grey and black water tank is a major design flaw., You are forced to wait in line at the dump station. Cassette toilets are a must for the off road crowd. One can legally dump your grey water when off grid, then dump the five gallon cassette at the nearest flush toilet, and easily refill the water tank at any gas station……never sto Of course, if you are a full service campsite user, then no problem. But a 144 Mercedes camper van is designed for off-road. It seems to me your design criteria is better suited for the larger van models. Again, a very professional comparison.

Great comparison! When comparing power systems, you should be comparing KWH not AH though, because AH doesn't take voltage differences into account. For example you mention the Entegra Launch battery being smaller than Revel, but's actually considerably larger in capacity because 48v vs 12v.

Great review! I actually like the #2 choice as my number one… if only they did have LED headlamps (a must) and if they didn’t have such questionable quality. But I just like the floor plan a lot. If the #1 choice had the same reclining sofa/bed setup #2, then it would be my choice as well. PS - you might want to add bookmarks to your next review like this and perhaps even a link to your original more detailed review for those who want more information.

i agree with your ranking, especially the Thor models, the 19L has much more storage than the 19P but is tighter but I have gotten used to the 19L

Excellent review! For me the driving experience is by far the most important. That and a big bathroom as I am 6'1. So I like the Midwest Passage FD2 (2 wheel drive) best. The 4 wheel drive is tall and will get blown around more. We drive over 2000 miles each way to get to the mountains so getting blown around is not acceptable. The 2wd with the XD 2500 suspension and the quiet Midwest Limousine type interior is best I feel for long distance driving. Just getting to and from the western states comfortably and safely is enough. I don't have to get into the most remote campsites to feel like I'm getting away. Just leaving the eastern states behind for a few weeks at a time is great!!

GREAT review Ruby! Flows freely and has a nice flair! So complete and so detailed. Ultimately these are not for everybody (maybe 10%)...very utilitarian and rough.

We found the Storyteller fits us the best. The Volta system is a true game changer. Great review as always!

Great video with lots of information! Would love to see another video like this but for the promaster chassis. For myself and quite a few people I've talked to on the road, the Mercedes adventure vans are way too expensive and only rarely do people actually use the capabilities of the 4x4 (those in Alaska or actual hardcore adventurers that go further than just a dirt/gravel road).

Would have loved to see Ford Transits. They are equal in many ways - style, floor plans and space and necessary features with power and pricing.

I haven't seen all the class b's, but Midwest/American Coach builds the most quality coach I've seen and a great company compared to most. As you said, everybody is different, especially in regards to floor plans. Getting off the subject a little. It's hard to beat the Oasi 540 that you did a review on for a short coach if the lack of 4x4 isn't a deal killer. ❤

Thanks for the review. You have a lot of great information. I believe you misstated the lithium battery power for the Jayco Entegra / Terrain. It has a 48 volt system not a 12 volt system. When you convert all the van systems to watt hours the Entegra has one of the MOST POWERFUL systems available. You do this by multiplying Volts x Amps = watt hours. With 48 volts x 210 amps = over 10,000 watt hours of power!!! vs. a 12 volt system with 210 amps = 2,500 watt hours. That's a huge difference. Thanks again for your videos. T.

Great job, you put all information in one place. Even the manufacturer's website doesn't have the details you did. If you can include the cargo carry capacity, that'll be even better. Me too; Tiffin Cahaba is my choice. Well, I can't accept that after I pay $200K and sweaty, I can't use AC due to the limitation of the battery, and I can't have a nice shower. I plan to live in an RV full time but don't plan to live like I am in poverty. I also plan to drive my RV as my primary vehicle. From Tiffin's website, Cahaba has a Volta charging system like Winnebago Travato. It means I can always use AC, and the underhood alternator will charge the battery banks within an hour.

Ruby, it would be great if you could make a video showing the different sewage disposal systems on the various B vans. Since I am older, getting on my knees is not an option. Roadtrek has a macerator making it easy. On the other hand, Pleasure Way has a traditional gravity sewer which is located far under the edge of the van. So I have ruled that out. Some of the gravity sewers are close enough to the edge of outside van wall, that I could reach it without getting on my knees.

Your criteria is virtually the same as mine! Except I’m looking for a Fourseason van. Very few meet that last criteria the Winnebago Revel does but I’m not a fan of it. I’ve had to go to bigger van to have the capability to safely travel in very low temps. Such as the Coachman Galleria 24A or the Winnebago Boldt. Much bigger and heavier. And I must have four-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive.

Hi Ruby, this was very helpful as my husband and I are (potential) first time RV buyers. Question on the Thor- I understand a generator is an option, otherwise we’d need to use the solar to run the AC to keep our dog and cat cool while we hike. We live in the Rockies and don’t go anywhere hot but I’d like some reassurance that the solar will allow us to run the AC so the fur kids are comfortable. Thanks in advance for your help!

As much as I think I will use the camper for off road adventuring, I suspect that reality is we won’t venture off road much and then to the beach, so I would opt for the more comfortable layouts and amenities such as the the Airstream class B you reviewed.

The entegra launch has slightly lower 210amph vs the 250amph on revel? Yes, but it is 48v. So it is more than 10kwh of battery capacity. While the revel has only 3.2kwh.

I'm looking for a vehicle for a solo travel that can survive in both the hottest weather in Sahara and the coldest weather in Siberia and even after being stuck at a remote place for several weeks because of snow or rain or whatever. So functionally matters most but living condition matters least. For layout I need maximum space for sleeping area, personal hygiene area, cooking area, and wardrobe but nothing else. I can use a passenger seat as my living room and dining room. I've been searching for a little while and so far Thor Tranquility or Thor Sanctuary appears to better fit my purpose. Do you have any suggestions?

I would think anyone buying one of these should consider the weight factor. Ours was professionally built by a van conversion business and upon looking it over prior to purchasing it, noticed a lot of weight. ( no more items than any you show). Bought it , tried one weekend of camping and decided to get it weighed. With very little of our own personal belongings it weighed it at 8700 lbs. max load of 9050lbs. Too close for my comfort. Too much weight on tires ( faster wear) too much weight on suspension,( sway in wind, unstableness). Took it and got one extra leaf on rear adding 1000lbs extra payload. While we would exceed 9050 ( especially carrying lots of water ( 32 gallons) we won’t exceed 10,500. Realizing these are YOUR wants, I’m calculating the time it takes to use the conveniences you require. Your shower I, guessing is a thirty minute venture, your powered lumbar seats is two- three minutes ( you get the picture). Less than 45 minutes out of your day to have all these amenities is fairly expensive. I think it takes me 15 seconds to adjust my non powered lumbar support. A vent in the bath is only required when taking longer than a 5 minute shower ( thus the reason it was not in that van.). Personally, I think your wants are excessive, but hey, they are yours! You are camping, and while you can take the Ritz -Carlton with you, it’s going to cost. The more gadgets you have the more often and costly your repairs will be. Lithium is the ONLY way to go. Our 300 amps of power with 400 amps of solar eliminates the need for any generator. But hey, you know what YOU like, so go for it. I’m just giving you something to think about.🙂

i could have used the 4wd last weekend when my Thor Tellaro got stuck in the sand- 3 times. You twice mention poor QC at Thor and I need to reiterate for anyone reading. Thor has terrible, terrible quality. My Tellaro just spent the last 5 months in the shop and I've only owned it six months. It rained last night and I found a roof vent leak- yet another problem.... Thor buyers- beware!

Tiffin has all the extras so it gets my high marks. Just a bit pricey.

😂😂😂 I’m sorry but you lost all credibility by placing the STO last and placing the Thor so high. Just off of build quality alone it should be higher while the Thor should be lower. I get the bathroom layout can turn off a lot of people, but that shouldn’t be the reason to push it so far on your list based on your criteria. I wish this was more of an unbiased comparison.
