Body camera footage captured the moment police officers in Frisco, Texas, pulled over a Black family at gunpoint believing that their vehicle was possibly stolen. The Frisco Police Department said that an officer entered the wrong state when running the license plate and that it intends to amend its training policies as a result of the incident.

I had an alarm system in our detached garage. We didn't go in it that often because we stored the vintage cars in it. So oneday I decided to take one of my cars out for a ride and I keyed in the alarm code wrong. I answered the call from the alarm company from the built-in garage house phone. I gave the correct password and the rep tells me to try keying it in again! Big mistake that rep made and I could have lost my life over it! I keyed it in again wrong and the alarm went off agai and another alarm alert went into the alarm company's call center. The second alarm went to a different rep that couldn't get through to me and got a busy signal because I didn't have a two way on my house phone. So the second rep called the police. I eventually ended my call with the first rep and had no idea the police were dispatched by a second rep. So I went to start up my classic car and I always keep the garage door down until I get it started so I can zoom out. Well, at the last second when I got my car started I changed my mind and turned it off. I went running out of the front of the garage into the enclosed patio to catch my breath from the carbon monoxide. I then turned to exit the enclosed patio to find about 18 police officers pointing their guns at me. I dropped my purse and went to turn to go back into the enclosed patio because I was scared out of my mind! An officer said don't do that and I almost did it anyway I was so scared all I could think to do was run! I went ahead and turned back around slowly and I'm shaking so bad. All these guns pointing at me as close as 20 inches. I'm told to show some ID and I'm shaking and I look down at the ground at my purse. I couldn't move or speak! I look at all the guns pointed at me and I couldn't move. So one officer tells the others to lower their weapons. The officer 20 inches from me keeps his gun on me with his finger on the trigger. I move very, very slowly and get my wallet. I hand it to the main officer that did all the talking. He says, "nice house" and all the other officers gasp and leave immediately. The main officer watched me lock up the garage and enclosed patio. Then he walked with me to the front of my house and watched me unlock the door. I believe he still thought I didn't live there. My husband and son were home and didn't hear a thing. I told my husband I was almost killed in the backyard and the officer agreed! Luckily my husband and son didn't come running around the house because they might have gotten shot. I still have anxiety over that day, I'll never forget it, it was very traumatizing because if one officer shoots they all start firing their weapons.

This happened to me in 1990 after dropping off a black friend at his upper middle class home in the suburbs. About 7 police cars barricaded us 4 miles up the road and held us at gunpoint.

1:42 the dad saying “it could have gone all wrong for us, though” and the officer responding “why’s that?” and acting like her colleagues weren’t just screaming that they would be shot for making a wrong move? what a sickening, cowardly, antisocial response.

@@julieboring4117 yeah i just smoked a blunt near my house and i saw them parked at the top of the staircase i needed to exit through. i scared them so they pulled a gun in my face and put me in handcuffs. they found my weed but gave it back to me cause they were looking for a shooter, not some kid smoking. not really traumatizing. ironically i got into a gunfight in that same spot when someone tried to rob me a year later

So sick of people that don’t have guns being told to stay calm while armed cops are totally erratic. It’s perfectly ok to be upset when you’re being treated like a criminal. You’re just enabling bad behavior. I get what you’re saying- if the dad freaked out he would be dead. The focus should be on the cops.

in my case the cops were there for a suspected shooting, so they're pumped up and defensive. if you've ever had a gun in your face you would know how serious their job is. seems like this was a similar case@@karinaz8756

This was about as smart as when those other cops, about a year ago, handcuffed a woman and locked her inside a cop-SUV they parked on rail-road tracks and then the train came along.

That woman cop should be fired for her uncalled for mistake this family went through a night mare over her mistake. The driver could have been shot and killed. How would any of these cops feel if one of them or their whole family had been stopped and held at gun point. Apology doesn't help in these kind of cases but a good lawsuit exposes and does help. This kind of stuff is the very reason a lot of people don't like the police and have no trust in them.

The cart is full. No more "a few bad apples" pretexts for institutionalized terror with a badge. There was no reasonable suspicion for the police to invrstigate the license plate of the vehicle. Notice that the police did not request the license and registration.
