@@DropingUP Nasa needs Starliner not because it can carry crew, but because it can do something that crew dragon cannot. As of right now the only way to keep the ISS in orbit is to use russian space craft to boost it. Starliner can do the same and that is something crew dragon cannot do. Do you want the ISS to be dependent on the will of Russia? They can literally stop boosting it and bring it down at any point they wish. I am a spacex fan too but im rooting for starliner success because it is very much crucial to the independence of the ISS from Russia.

Even if everything else goes perfectly.

Starship is a fully reusable super heavy-lift launch vehicle, that is currently being developed and manufactured by SpaceX. It consists of the Super Heavy booster stage and the Starship spacecraft on top. Starship will be able to send 100 tons of cargo etc to Low Earth orbit, moon or mars. Don't confuse Starship with Dragon, because Dragon is in the same league as Starliner. Dragon has been the default astronaut taxi, it has made 4 crewed flights to the ISS. When Starship becomes operational, it'll change human spaceflight as we know it. Nothing in current development compares to it, and might never for a foreseeable future.

" Why do straight lines turn out curved in my property photos? " "When you take a photo of a real estate scene that has straight lines, such as a room interior or walls in a property exterior, you may find that those lines appear crooked or curved in your final photograph. This can affect both horizontal or vertical lines, and they may appear to be sloping or bending inwards or outwards. Sometimes, the lines might even look straight when you preview them in the camera, but come out curved in the final photo. There are a few things that can cause these kinds of distortion, such as the lens you used, perspective distortion, or the angle you shot the photo at. With a few quick tips though, it is easy to mitigate this and get straighter lines. "

A little too late imo. I get why NASA wants to continue supporting Boeing, since they don't want to rely on SpaceX for everything. Still, just look at how far ahead on schedule they are and doing it at a much lower cost.

Spacex going to face tough competition
@hadorstapa

Hahaha good one. They've already been facing this 'tough competition' since the inception of SpaceX. Everyone told them they couldn't do it, and paid other companies such as Boeing more to do less, and SpaceX still got there first. It's a good job Starliner has a unique selling point in its reboost capability, or there'd be very little reason to give them all that money, or even use them at all.

@@hadorstapa I expect Elon has a team working on modifying a cargo Dragon so it can reboost the station as well. They could put a Draco thruster and fuel tanks in the trunk, and provided the Dragon docked to the correct port it wouldn't be that difficult to provide the required amount of delta-vee.
