As a lifelong Dodger fan and certified Giant-hater, Buster is a hands down 1st ballot Hall of Famer and one of the best catchers ever and true champion. The ultimate in class and a golden human being. God bless you, BP. Remember, Giant-haters don't hate the Giants because they suck. It's because guys like Buster have kicked our asses so often.

Respect. Just PLEASE don't ever put Dave Roberts in the same sentence as Bruce Bochy. Hope you enjoyed your summer collegiate 60 game "Alaska League" "championship" in 2020. BIG ASTERIK dude, Nationals were @ .500 at the All Star Break in 2019, once again proving it's the team that goes into the postseason HOT in a 162 game schedule. Joking aside, Vin Scully retiring boy do I miss him dearly as a Dodger hater my whole life. Scully is the GOAT of broadcasters in my opinion. We have THE best rivalry in baseball PERIOD. Yankees/Red Sox east coast bias ain't SHIT! Peace & love brother.

Although I'm a Dodger-hater myself, I have seen Dodger fans display sheer class on several occasions, and this is one of them. Another I'll never forget was being in Dodger Stadium in 1977 on Willie McCovey Night, as the Dodgers organization honored Stretch, who was on his way to winning Comeback Player of the Year. They held a great pregame ceremony presided over by Vin Scully, and then Willie Mac himself capped things off by coming up in the 7th and hitting an absolutely mammoth bomb into the back rows of the right-centerfield bleachers. The crowd stood and roared for a full two minutes. It was a spontaneous outburst of total appreciation for a long-time member of the despised enemy. It was very, very cool and I remember it like it was yesterday.

As a Dodger fan, I will certainly miss him. He was seemingly a guaranteed base hit every time he was at the plate and that created such a tough competition for the Dodgers.

When Kershaw retires, trust me we will honor him his last game in SF as a slam dunk no question about it 1st ballot HOF'er. Son of bitch is still killing it in 2023, while Bumgarner was never the same when he went the Diamondbacks released in April. As a lifelong Dodger HATER, just please don't put Dave Roberts in the same sentence as Bruce Bochy, took the f**king PADRES to the World Series for f**k sake LOL!!! Peace and love, California still the best state, we both know that.

I was teary throughout his speech, but it really got me when he talked about people always remembering where they were when Renteria hit the 3 run homer, or Serge (as I call him) striking out Cabrera, that electrifying and spectacular moment when MadBum walked onto the field in game 7 and Matt Cain, looking around the stadium-moments before the final out in the perfect game was recorded. All these moments have a permanent place in my mind. Thank you Buster for being such a huge part of this incredible run we've had. You will be missed but you will also be forever a part of our hearts, as Giants fans.

And I think EVERY Giants fan remembers just where they were when Buster hit that fantastic grand slam off loudmouth Latos in the final game of the 2012 Division Series. That was as big a moment as the ones Buster mentioned.

Buster is my fav player of all time. His work ethic and dedication to the sport are unmatched. This is hard to watch. But I know far harder for him. Buster you came up and ignited the 2010 championship team in a way I know I will never see again. When you went down with that horrific injury years later I prayed for your well being as a human first. You came back from it and fought. You were a huge part of all of the 2010, 2012 and 2014 championships. I wish you could have gone out with another ring - so close. Your swing is the most beautiful I have ever seen - so pure. You deserve to be with your family now and I can only imagine how hard the decision was for you. I will miss you on the field Buster. But I know you are in pain and I can relate very well to that. Enjoy your family and I wish you and them the very best and a future life free from the pain you endured for us fans. We will always love you Buster, please consider a role with the Giants if your life permits it.

This is gonna be long, so sorry for everyone reading this. My name is Noah and I was born in 2007. Once I was at an age to understand what was going on while watching giants games on TV, Buster was always behind the dish. I don’t know what it was about him that I saw at an early age, but I saw something that made me connect to him and I’m glad whatever I saw, I saw. Watching buster’s career throughout my life was a big blessing to me. Now onto the baseball part of this comment. I started playing baseball when I was 4. Part of the reason I started was because of all the fun I saw the whole Giants team having. So I gave it a shot, and I'm glad I did. I didn't take baseball that seriously until I was about 8. Around this time, I started getting into catching, among pretty much every other position, but catching was my primary at the time. Now here's where things get shaken up a bit. Foul tips seem harmless in baseball, but for some people, they are not. I have had a couple of concussions from foul tips but there is one that I will always remember. April 8th, 2021, it was a cold fall afternoon, and I got the nod from my coach to go behind the plate that day. We get through 3 innings of not-so-good baseball, and I go back out for the bottom of the 4th, and this is when my baseball career would take a weird turn. It was a 1-2 count with 1 out and the bases were loaded. I called a fastball on the outer half, and the kid fouled it off right into my catcher's mask. Now I have had this happen before and I get a headache for the game, take some Advil and I'm good, but this one was different. I went to bed that night with a little bit of a headache because the Advil was starting to wear off. (If you have made it this far, first off you are a stud and I love you, and secondly, trust me, this will all come back to Buster later in the story.) I wake up the next morning and my headache came back. I take some Advil and go along with my day. 2 weeks go by and my headache is still there. At this point, nothing will help it and I am starting to get noise and light sensitivity. We go to my PCP and they say yes you have a concussion. If it doesn't get better we will send a referral over to the concussion doctor. It proceeds to get worse, so we get in contact with my PCP and they send over the referral. A couple of days go by with light and noise sensitivity, and my appointment with the concussion doctor comes up. They put me on meds and it seems to help and does for about 3 months. I go off the meds and I don't have any headaches. Now, this is in late April early May. Fast forward to October 2nd, 2021. I get this really bad headache, almost a migraine. I have this headache and I take Advil so I can sleep through the night. Wake up the next morning with a little bit of a headache and just brush it off. Now comes the part where it goes back to the topic of Buster retiring (kind of). I wake up on the morning of November 1st, and go along with my day, waiting to play my final fall ball game of the year. It's about noon and my mom tells me that one of my old baseball coaches passed away over the weekend. I take that and think to myself, I'm gonna play my heart out in my game today for that coach, but, the game gets pushed back to the day after. I found out that night that they are taking me out of school and baseball for the week to see if that will help my headaches go away, but my parents allowed me to play in the game Tuesday because I had played a bunch of games with the headache. So I go to my game Tuesday, and our starting catcher isn't there, and our backup has a hurt ankle, so I get the start behind the dish. I went 1-1 at the plate with a single and a walk and threw a kid out stealing second. Now Wednesday and Thursday were the days that I found out Buster, my idol and reason to play baseball, was retiring. Now this part in the comment, (the whole story I've written.) where all of my life details and Buster Posey finally come together. Since my concussion on April 8th, me and my family have talked about me quitting catching, and on Friday, we sat down and had a big conversation about it. We weighed the pros and cons of catching and playing other positions, and after looking at those pros and cons, I made the hard decision, a day after Buster made it public that he was retiring from catching, to hang up my catching gear for good. When we were making this decision, it felt like Buster was helping me make the decision. This decision hurt a lot cause I love to catch and it's the position that I am most comfortable at and I kind of felt like I was letting Buster down in a way for making this decision, but I have other positions that I am satisfied playing at. Anyway, I'm happy for Buster on his retirement and imo his number should be retired by the Giants. Thanks for coming to my TED talk. lol hope yall that are reading this have a great day.

WOW! It's crazy to see Buster leaving the game. He is a great guy, he cares so much for other people, his family, friends, and probably just about anyone he has ever spoken to. Buster grew up 20 minutes from me in Lee County and played for the Trojans, which were one of our rivals, and let me tell you, he learned from a young age to play the game right. Lee County is a powerhouse program and had 3 or 4 guys go to Georgia my freshman year and always produced D1 players and future pros. Buster, enjoy the rest of your life, you deserve it!

I remember Matt Cain’s perfect game. In Houston, I got off work at my regularly scheduled time maybe 10:30 P.M. at that time. I arrived at my car around 10:50 P.M. I started my car and while driving out of the parking lot was messing with the radio. I decided to turn on the scuffling Astros. The third Astro batter in the top of the fifth inning stepped up to the plate. He hit a fly ball to right field. The Giant player, Pagan(?), was described as making an extraordinary effort to catch the fly ball. What is going on here? Is a no-hitter being thrown? The radio announcer stated that Matt Cain was throwing a perfect game. I immediately headed to the SRO sports bar to see the rest of the game. I arrived around 11:05 P.M. I was hoping that the Astros would come back from the 10-0 deficit. Unfortunately, Cain finished the perfect no-hit game. But it was still a great game to watch the final three innings. It was some of the best two innings and two half innings of baseball I ever saw!

We always won even when the score didn't say so but since you were always there, we knew we had a chance _ now we, team & the fans, must look for another leader - praying that one will remind us of you ( yelling in the background when players started getting carried away w/ exuberance of winning "...kids.." and would tone it down ) thank you mr. It has happened so many times before. Many greats have come and gone. No matter how many years they played it seems like their careers went by in the blink of an eye. Every man no matter how young he is when he starts will eventually become old and must concede that baseball is indeed a young man's game. Buster is only 34 however he knows he has given all that he could give. Sure he could have stuck around until he was 40 however I would rather see him walk away from the game on his own terms than being forced out by an injury. Will Clark did the same thing, he walked away on his own terms. I think that is the best way to end a career. It is kind of sad to watch players like Albert Pujols who remain in the game as shells of their former greatness. So long Buster. Thanks for the memories. #Retire28
