As an entrepreneur. working with Swissair as a consultant, my watches have a history to mark significant life milestones and accomplishments. Like you, the story behind the watch is as important as the timepiece itself. "Heritage and history are everything!" I could not agree more! Respect, appreciation of quality and love of horology are essential elements. Without those, a watch is just another article, not something to be admired, savored and kept over a lifetime. Piaget ultra thin movements remain my passion. The boutique "experience" is paramount, and it is essential to the memory and loyalty to the manufacturer.

Collectors sometimes need to sell watches aswell in order to be able to afford their next piece.

Kevin, with your next couple of New purchases. Take a portable microscope. I seen a You tube channel that put very expensive watch under a very powerful microscope and you wouldn’t believe all the FLAWS that a $50,000 may have. Paint flaws, debris, numbers or bars out of alignment.

What I really do not understand about Rolex and the purported restriction they have with selling to only VIP's, is how they expect to sell their inventory. The only thing that would make sense to me is that Rolex has a lower production rate than what is believed. Thoughts?
