I was 16 when second intifada started.. bus ride became traumatic reality, not knowing if you will be blown to pieces. there is almost no one in Israel that didn't loose someone or knew someone that did. calling these protests peaceful is a joke.

The Arab tactic of using human shields to increase civilian casualties for propaganda purposes goes back to the days of Arafat . I have yet to hear a single mention, let alone acknowledgement of this from any Palestinian supporter, and never will. The mentality has not changed since I fought these same battles when I was in college in 1973. An Arab student once told me, "The Jews must have done something. That is true. However no human can grasp 100% of the truth therefore we should all admit to that. I don’t know the truth, I know fragments of the truth. There is one truth and then there are different perspectives on it. Some of them using the evidence at hand, thereby being more likely to be approximating what is actually true, and there are „perspectives“ whose claims are not based on any evidence, which then produces a view that contradicts the fragments of the truth we know already. The latter is what is called „being wrong“.

A good question. I know that in the uk many are refusing to pay the BBC licence fee (which is deducted automatically from your tax payments or something like that). Over time maybe the television will lose ground to the internet and then the viewer can comment etc, which might help.

I can see why there were protests against the Vietnam war, because we were fighting in a foreign war. We are not fighting in this war and Israel has every right to eliminate the threat to their existence; after being attacked in such a brutal manner. Supporting Hamas, who are actually calling for genocide, is shows their lack of understanding. And yes I said Hamas, because whether they know it or not, that is who they are supporting, not the people of Gaza.

Gaza was essentially a state separate from Israel on Oct 7. Having a state did not moderate Hamas at all. Israel can never accept such a two state solution again.

During Covid lockdown I was watching this news show and she was in the studio while her cohosts were on Zoom and she said “Oh look all brown people today”. Now if this had been a white person and said “Oh look all white people today” I am pretty sure that the “white person “ would have been dismissed or severely reprimanded besides being ridiculed by all other racist networks. Yeah, that's not really the issue as there are plenty of families here in the U.S. that have 30 or more members. Say a couple have 3 kids. So that's 5. Then those kids grow up, have a partner, that's 8. The now 3 couples each have 3 kids. Now that's 14. And lets say the original couple had brothers and sisters. And they had partners and kids. So, it's pretty easy to have 30 or more people in a family.
