The shine is a good thing. it means the leather is in a healthy state and internally moisturized. Kind of like supple healthy skin or hair; it’s Less prone to cracking and it’s soft and malleable. Your bag is beautiful and you are too. Love your twist out ❤️

Not sure if you are still trying to get the odor out but try a piece of charcoal (in a cup or bowl) I know how strange that sounds but it always has worked for my family. We went to Louisiana when I was 15 to visit family and my aunt got a couple pounds of raw oysters, when we made it home and unpacked a bag of oysters were forgotten under a seat. We didn’t go anywhere for days so when we got in the van to go to church, I’m sure you can imagine the smell (it was also summer time in south mississippi) AWfUL 🤥 Anyway, she put a bowl of charcoal in there (after cleaning the carpet) and it took all the left over odor out. I use it now anywhere I need to take odor’s away. Has always worked for me.

To get rid of the smell try buying some "Zero Odour" at Bed Bath Beyond. I used it on my speedy 30 that I purchased pre-loved and it worked. You could also put coffee grounds in an open zip lock bag and leave it in your bag and it will soak up the smell. In regards to the water stain, I used an unscented baby wipe to remove a stain from my Noe, but I do not know if it will have the same effect on your Alma as this stain appears to have been sitting awhile. I've also heard of people using a dampened clean white cloth and wetting the other leather areas to even it up. Many forums have said that the water soaked into the leather and has changed it irrevocably. If this is unsuccessful, the condition of your canvas is in amazing condition so you could also bring it into LV to have all of the vachetta repaired.

You can clean the brass or shine it with a silver polish rag too. I use Mr Clean Magic Eraser on the leather too. It works for me. For the smell of the inside of the bag I use Fabric Softener Dryer Sheets. Not to many. For stronger odors,​ Activated Charcoal can help with odor and removes moisture. Last I use wax paper for the zipper works Great. Dont mess with that water stain anymore. Just let it be. I dont think anything will get it out anymore.

Zipper-rub the waxy side of wax paper over it. Smell- I bought a new Valentino, but it was stored in a smoking house. I did the baking soda in an open zip lock and then orange peels. You can also add dryer sheets once you have the odor out to infuse a pleasant smell, or Fabreze. I had a purse just arrive today with water marks. I used a touch of Dawn and water and a children's electric tooth brush to scrubs all the leather to an even color. I'm going to use your Armorall trick tomorrow. I have some in the car.

You are very clever! Your bag looks lovely and you did a great job. Try "Mothers" on your canvas as it is better than Armoral as it will not dry out canvas or leather. I love the vintage LV bags and your Alma is a beauty.
