Both defenses, masterfully delivered by Justin J. Pearson and Justin Jones will, indeed, go down in history. I would advocate for having their speeches (the written version) actually being enshrined in the Smithsonian. The power of their words rocked the planet. And that is not an understatement. Just today, on Twitter, you have people from Australia watching what's going on in Tennessee. The papers in the U.K. report on Tennessee daily. Justin Jones Tweets one paragraph and it lights up Twitter. The Tennessee 3 are the face of this combat to save democracy. (It was not even three years ago Barak Obama was warning everyone that democracy was at stake. People said then that Obama he was focused on the wrong thing.) Please also take notice of what's going on in France. There's an eerie parallel. Voters have been in the streets protesting for 3 months because the president, Emmanuel Macron, rammed through a retirement legislation that 70% of the country was against. Thanks to a provision in the Constitution, he was technically allowed to do this. However, it was an egregious example of the outright disregard of the will of the people. Critics are saying that France is now a democracy in name only. Similar story in Tennessee. Republicans are ALSO, like Macron, using the perfectly legal channels (legislation and the constitution) to enact laws that run counter to what voters are calling for. Just over the pass few days (shortly after the mass SCHOOL shooting in Tennessee, mind you), parents turned out in the streets calling for gun safety laws. Republicans, instead of passing legislation to protect kids, swiftly passed legislation to protect gun makers. If that isn't a slap in the face, I don't know what is. Who would have ever thought that legislators would be passing laws that a majority of their constituents find problematic? It defies logic. If we don't get a handle on this, I foresee mass protests across the country, because other state houses have been behaving in a similar fashion, ignoring the overwhelming will of the people. When you break the social contract, all bets are off. And whether in France or in Tennessee, we see a sort of institutional violence being weaponized against voters, as if what voters want is of no concern. We have, in essence, elected officials who are in the process of hijacking our institutions to do the bidding of lobbyists (gun lobbyists, anti-abortion lobbyists, anti-LGBTQ lobbyists, and so on and so forth). So, yes, the Tennessee 3 represent so much more to so many people around the world. They're rapidly becoming world leaders without realizing it. And there's a bright generation of young lawmakers and voters just over the horizon itching to join the movement. They're called GenZ. They have the might, the moxie, and the numbers, by the way, to take on these horrid legislators who dare attempt to thwart democracy.

Thank you to the Tennessee GOP; for elevating both JUSTIN JONES and JUSTIN PERSON careers and profiles at all levels--local, state and national!!! He of all people should be fighting like hell for his right to bare arms. Gun Control in this nation started out as a racist policy.

He's young and brand new to his position. He was sent there by Tennesseans to represent them and to make their lives better. He's eager to be effective for his constituents. He's extremely intelligent and passionate. He made a mistake not deserving of expulsion. Don't snuff out his potential to serve his community and to help positively change the course of their lives and the lives of all Tennesseans. Suspend him for a time or administer some kind of appropriate punishment, but expulsion is in no way appropriate.

What was done in Tennessee is the definition of injustice. Two members of the Tennessee House, who are Black men, are expelled for being outraged over the murders of 6 people: five white and one black. Three of them white children.
