They should fine the driver in a pursuit $500.00 a minute from start of chase until cuffed. Garnish wages if they work, withhold all government assistance, seize assets, and take Social Security benefits and/or tax refunds until it's paid in full. They could deny and confiscate any future lottery winnings or inheritances of money or property! Whatever it takes to make them truly regret it.

Police pursuits have become a spectator sport in places like LA. It should be obvious that the penalty for the horrors these pieces of human garbage cause is not high enough. Permanent revocation, mandatory jail time and absolute liability for every penny of damage they cause seem appropriate.

The police dog is handled so roughly, dragged and lifted and tossed on the other side then hauled back again. Poor dog trying to do his job, dying to help out and doesn't get to help and is handled like a football. Since the suspect was armed, how can a dog help other than to get shot, while all those officers are armed. Doesn't make sense.

Don't get me wrong and keep your hate to yourself. I love and totally respect all law enforcement and security folks at ALL levels but this was ridiculous. I was a paramedic and worked with law enforcement for 25 years so I speak from some experience. 22 units for one suspect? Even if there were six others in the car, I think 22+ officers with automatic weapons and shotguns on scene was mismanagement of manpower. Couldn't we have taken some of units and put them back in service once this person was stopped? Other crimes weren't postponed while this went down. Officers standing in the back not actively engaged in the standoff were there for what reason? Surely with all of the various technologies and weapons available this could have been resolved quicker. How about 10 officers with rubber bullets or bean bags all at once? How about 10 flash bangs thrown about 5 seconds apart along with all of the rubber and bags? I would hope that this would disorient someone enough to allow officers with shields, armor and automatic weapons end the situation. Let's not forget the most effective tool in this type of situation is our beloved K9s. Also, once the event is over, get the public back to their lives asap. Sitting out there for over an hour were thousands, if not ten's of thousands being stressed over every reason imaginable. Multiple units remaining on scene after the suspect was detained was for what reason? At least open one of the five lanes so that the innocent citizens can to move on. With all of the defund crap, this was a bad image for law enforcement across the nation. 22+ against one with thousands sitting in line to pay the bill for it all. I'm just saying... On a totally separate (and petty to some) thought. Gotta take something positive out of it all other than the guy getting taken in. Those motorcycles at the end of the video had all moved to the front from the miles of backed up traffic. With all of the traffic behind them and only open road in front, I bet a few of those guys got on it once they were let loose. Live well safely.

K 9 dogs and handlers were perfect good job guys and dogs. Very patience now go and finish the day with training session and reward for thr dogs. It was hot out there on the road. I saw happy dogs wagging tails in anticipation of action.

It's always amazing how many Private Citizen Law Enforcement "Experts" commenting on the SOP these Police Officers have to comply with to apprehend "every day" bad guys. "Patience" is the KEY and it ensures that these Officers can go home to their families everyday/night. As a retired met police officer I am embarrassed by the inefficiency of the American Officers.

For training purposes, an officer has options to go behind the suspect with K9 and a taser. Looking from above it is easy to think, what if. Thank you for protecting us. Congrats to all PD Officers. Great job.

Disculpen una pregunta, porque hay estados donde la policía en la persecución de una persona en auto, llegan le chocan el auto y la acción sorpresa le caen encima antes que el afectado actúe, y eso me parece muy bien asi se evita que mate a personas inocentes y también en una persecución muera un policía. Pero no comprendo porque hay otras persecuciónes de autos de delincuentes y sólo se pasan horas siguiéndolo con más de 10 patrullas y por alguna razón llega a detenerse el auto perseguido y los policías solo lo cercan y esperan muchísimo tiempo en someterlo, cuando ya vieron que el individuo no tiene arma, y solo está hablando por celular y vuelve a escapar y sigue la persecución y afectan a las personas que vienen manejando, pérdida de tiempo con las patrullas, yo considero que se debe actuar inmediatamente y la sorpresa al individuo es letal, y no permitimos que se escape y exponga a inocentes, es demasiado el tiempo que permiten al individuo y el solo se burla de la policía,
