In 2019, Hannah Payne witnessed a hit-and-run accident. She called 911 to report the crash - but instead of following instructions from dispatchers - she followed one of the drivers involved in the crash, Kenneth Herring, and demanded he return to the scene. Payne then shot and killed Herring as he sat in the driver’s seat of his car. The 25-year-old was found guilty on all eight counts against her including murder, assault, false imprisonment, and possession of firearms. Payne will be sentenced Friday and could spend the rest of her life in prison.

In GA life with poss parole means she’s eligible for parole in 30 years. She has an added consecutive 8 years plus another 5 consecutive years. 30 + 8 + 3 = 43 years before she’s eligible for parole. She’ll be 68 years old.

Both defendant and her attorney have a superiority complex. He has the audacity to tell the judge to use her notes, in sentencing, as if she needed help with doing her job. She’s a judge for a reason. Then he goes on to gas light every state witness, by saying they didn’t see what they saw, and the jury misunderstood the video and her 911 calls, with Hannah being aggressive. Apparently, he thinks he’s the smartest person in the room. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Her side asked for mercy while she showed none towards the man’s life she took. It’s an insult to talk about how good she was when she took a life and wasn’t remorseful whatsoever. She was smiling in the cop car. Good deeds don’t wash out bad deeds just like bad deeds don’t wash out good deeds. If she actually showed a bit of remorse I could see her getting less time but she showed none. She is lucky she got parole. Hopefully someone shows her justice while she is locked up. Hopefully someone doesn’t mind their business and tries to do the right thing”right thing”. F her and everyone that spoke on her behalf.

Even if everything she said was true, (which I don’t believe) the minute she cut him off and he couldn’t go anywhere, should have been the end of it. Why at that point did you get out of your car and go to his window with a gun. You knew the police were on the way, so that alone to me should’ve given her life with no possibility of parole. And the judge didn’t even admonish her for what she had done, she just went straight into the sentence ignoring the pleas of the family.

She was armed (I don't know if she was working that day or not) she reported what she saw to authorities then decided "oh the authorities cannot handle this without my superior abilities so I will ignore their instructions and I'll deputize myself and catch this dangerous villain. She corners him beats him through his window and then uses the excuse "he hit my car" as justification for shooting an unarmed man sitting in his vehicle. At no point throughout the incident did she seem agitated , scared, uncertain-she was playing cop and nobody was going to stop her.

All of this happened as a precursor to not following instructions from a 911 dispatcher. People seem to think of dispatchers as someone whose instructions have no credibility. I don't always agree with what a dispatcher tells me to do/not to do, and a few times we had "back & forth discussions" AFTER I followed their instructions though. If you refuse to follow instructions by a 911 dispatcher, it's going to look really bad for you (not the dispatcher) in court if something high profile happens. If you are following orders from a dispatcher, and something happens that is high profile, then you could go into court and say "yeah Your Honor, I did exactly what she told me to do, and here's the proof bruh (don't call the Judge "bruh").

It’s not a matter of “being called out” for drunk driving. If people “go nuts” about this, it is for valid reasons. DUI is a potentially deadly act, that he was committing- IF he was inebriated. I haven’t heard what his blood alcohol level showed. Hannah’s ultimate actions may not have been wise, or right, but I believe that her original intent was to get his tag number and try to help the police locate him so there would not be another accident, possibly fatal. He DID leave the scene of the accident, which was illegal and also dangerous, if he was under the influence.
