Jessy Kurczewski allegedly dumped six bottles of Visine into Lynn Hernan’s water bottle and tried to stage her death as an overdose in 2018. Prosecutors also claim Kurczewski defrauded Hernan of nearly $300,000 before killing her. Judge Jennifer Dorow, who oversaw Darrell Brooks’ Waukesha parade massacre trial, is overseeing Kurczewski’s case.

The problem is he is assigned to her case. Most times they know their client is guilty but they have to try at least get them off DR someone has to defend right? My mind changed when I saw the Jodi arias trial and wondered how Numi could defend such an evil female but you just have to listen to him after trial and you have to feel sorry for him

And Judge Dorow-whom I adore-was casually discussing the temperature of the room and the morning weather conditions. One attorney commented on how the children would have to go trick-or-treating in the cold weather. There have been casual comments and laughter by several parties throughout the trial, thus far. I don’t like the defense. I think they are unnecessarily snarky to witnesses and, at times, disrespectful of the way Judge Dorow runs her courtroom. But I don’t understand the criticism for any positive interactions they have with their client. Why does it matter if they laugh and smile together? Are they supposed to remain stone-faced due to the seriousness of the charges? Engaging with other human beings in a friendly manner under trying circumstances doesn’t diminish the gravity of a situation. People tend to be hyper critical of the way the defense interacts with their clients. You see it happen all the time. If a defense attorney comforts a defendant in any way, or is seen laughing with them, so many people are quick to shred them for it. Why? Is it because they’re defending “the bad guy” and, as such, they aren’t allowed to have normal, human interactions? Defense attorneys have a job to do: Defend a client. Part of this is getting to know the accused and building a rapport with them. In the process, I imagine you develop some kind of a relationship with the person you are defending. Not a friendship, but I am sure the attorney/client relationship is unique in its own way.

I know! And the fact that there were two dates for the vet office euthanasia procedure a year apart maybe means she had two of her cats put down 😪. She knows Lynn loved her cats, probably more than any money left. If she even cared an ounce for Lynn she would have found the cats new homes or even asked the other heir (the young man) if his family wanted to take them in. The fact that she put down the birth date as 2010 means one wasn’t even that old, only 8 years.

I really believe this is how they defend all clients.....by trying to somehow put every witness under a microscope and make them look somehow imperfect. They need to retire. At this point they're a burr on the hide of our legal system. It's almost as if they are stalling for time because they know they can't win.

Oh it's not "almost like," stalling is definitely their tactic. The only "win" they are going to get this client is one more stalled day, hour, or minute of not being officially declared guilty. They are absolute clowns, and I am struggling to see how they ever passed the bar in the first place.

They used the "broken" computer screen as an excuse to hold one of the witnesses over instead of releasing them. You notice right off she said "my screen stopped working during lunch, I did not drop it". She wasn't even asked, I bet money she dropped it, then even thou she had one at the office she couldn't get it over night , and used it as an excuse the following day also. The defense is horrible, whiny and full of excuses, she can't figure out how to move page to page with an exhibit, but everything is on the computer???? Doubtful

Because, Gisela made a shortened version to make it easier to view, she explained her reasons for doing so, along with how she did it earlier on. I actually find it helpful to view an abreviated version, abeit, I also understand if your prefer the long version.

It’s at the beginning. The judge keep turning him down. I barely watch court thing but this defense is probably the worse I’ve seen and not convincing at all. The state probably talk among themselves how easy the case will be.

Possibly because he has no defense, and nothing relevant in defense of his client so he has to think of things and try and make it look like he is doing important stuff... At the expense of the jurys time, the courts time, and dragging out the witnesses time they had to take off work etc,. They are the 4th set of attorneys for this despicable defendant, so maybe they were a last resort. Private practice brought in and paid for by the state because she already went thru the available public defenders... I sure wouldn't want my life in their hands...

These defense attorneys are horrid. I know they have no defense, and have to do a job, even if poorly. At everyones expense it's kind of a justice. This is her 4th set of attorneys. I wouldnt want my life in their hands. So you have crappy attorneys for a despicable defendant. She has her right to a trial, she has representation, and she has what she deserves, attorneys that were in no way going to get her off at all 😂

I'm sure they know she is guilty, but it doesn't matter. Everyone gets a defense. Granted, these lawyers are particularly inept, but they are participating in every aspect of the trial on her behalf...and they are apparently fully licensed attorneys (even though I struggle to see how).

She was his mom’s friend. She was in his life since he was born. And because Lynn didn’t have children of her own, she showed her maternal love towards Anthony (and jessy). He loved her like a nephew would love his/her aunt. And spending time with someone you love isn’t that suspicious.

In a way I'm glad that you're being honest because there's no way that in every single case your verdict is “defense attorneys suck and shouldn't exist” 👆🏾 What's more likely is that you're biased and ignorant...
