The details of Stormy's entanglement with Dump had to be laid out. The jury needs to understand exactly what was being covered up, and hearing from Stormy directly was the only way to lay it bare, so to speak, the actions taken by Dump and his minions to keep these lurid details out of the public domain. It is slimy, sleazy, seedy and nausea-inducing information that is better left unsaid. Except in this case, where it has to be said.

Hopefully the reasoning of, 'You didn't object when you had the chance' will hold up on appeal. There's no chance of an acquittal, and when you can't win, you play for the draw. Current strategy: Get a hung jury, by any means necessary. On conviction: Start the appeals, looking to overturn, get a mistrial, or just keep The Orange out of jail on appeal for life. And every day he is not in jail, he will claim that he was proven innocent and won the case.

@@jp13119 From the reporting I've seen (not a legal scholar myself), it seems like the complicated part was about the contents of the stolen documents, some of which were classified, and what might need to be shown during trial to people without security clearance. Once that's settled (again, going on information from people who know more than I do), it should be a straightforward case. So yes, she's either not able to handle the case, or is just doing favors for her boss.

So many men do not understand how often women "fawn" to avoid dangerous situations. She could have seen a large guy blocking a door and quickly calculated if I do what he wants, 1) she would not get hurt 2) she would avoid him slandering her, or telling other people something bad about her - guys have been known to ruin a womans reputation if they feel rejected 3) she would have a story to tell - for laughs or another reason. If she chose something other than what he wanted, there WOULD HAVE BEEN NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES for her. So how much of a choice is that? It is a pressured one.

What laws are broken with this? I have a daughter whose mother was 25 years younger than me. She thought she was going to get 1000's a month child support. When that didn't work out she set me up and ended up serving 18 months. After put everything back together, she was losing custody battle and died from an overdose. Story over.

Stormy Daniels story was essential in each and every one of its sordid details. It was her ability to relate those details that Trump feared and had to stop at all costs. Lisa is right-Stormy's recall of every detail was exactly the threat Trump feared if she spoke publicly. She would have retold those details over and over in 2016, which would have reinforced daily Trump's despicable Access Hollywood persona. Women voters would have reacted to Stormy's story differently than many men voters. Women jurors may as well.

I think the prosecution needed just enough detail so the defense can't claim she chased him for money. He can't claim it didn't happen, or it was her entrapment in any way. She gave just enough detail to show that she WAS THERE and it happened. Stormy didn't lie about what happened...the PJs, the leather case, those small details are just enough to show what happened. She showed he didn't care about his wife. She gave enough to make it REAL and how it wasn't HER predatory behavior in this interaction. There were no objections. You can't call it mistrial if you never objected.

there are several reasons her testimony was important: 1. convey that it really happened and she is able to recall details that she would only know if she'd been there 2. based on that if she would have retold this story at prime time on some talk show it could have had a major impact on the campaign. This establishes that she had something of value. 3. it clearly had nothing to do with trying to avoid a scandal to protet Melania because Trump didn't care about the story for nearly a decade 4. From this follows that all the other testimony from other witnesses (incl. upcoming) is credible and feeds into the actual crime which is the way they tried to hide the payments from the public 5. As this was done to benefit the campaign it makes it a campaign finance violation So her testimony was crucial for how the prosecution have build up their case. And now that all this testominy, documents etc are evidence other prosecutors can build on or refer to this material.

The so-called "extraneous" details are the very things that, to me, substantiate the truth of her story. They are some of the MOST important aspects of her story. They establish that, yes, she WAS there; all this DID happen.

You're right Joe, it's a good point. I wouldn't invest too much emotion in the fact that Judge Cannon postponed the classified docs case "indefinitely" as she put it. At some point this case will go to trial. Not defending her, but she had to remove it from its scheduled date because there are multiple hearings that have to take place that make that start date unrealistic. "In the foreseeable future" would have been a better way to put it, in my opinion. Now we have media pundits spinning around over that bit of news and saying that the trial is never going to take place and blah blah blah. I like Jonathan Lemire, but he is doing Politico speak right now and they like to embellish stuff.

Good point Lisa. Cannon is completely overwhelmed by this case, and that has nothing to do with her leanings in favor of Dump. It's just the nature and the enormity of the case. It does seem as if she's second-guessing herself to an extent, but that has nothing to do with the number of motions that are pending and have to be heard.

Under Trump, USA interest rates were practically non-existent, begging for a spike in inflation to occur. Trump had record undocumented border crossings at the time, and children of those people are STILL looking for their parents due to his inhumane separation of them. Where ever I go and whatever I do I want to be among people committed to undoing how others were using my things excessively particularly after I got my degrees. Stormy Daniel's testimony I believe was extremely relevant to the case, it painted an accurate picture of the defendant, particularly concerning the fraud he is being charged with, his deception, and his lack of empathy for others.

But so grateful to all who let this happen here in New haven because it was going on since 2012 and excessively since 2013 in other locations. It was justified by people trying to force me into a certain political ideology without exposure to anything else. Really unfortunate and glad it is being addressed. Very unamerican and used to be illegal. I hope we can disincentivize it and incentive privacy and respoect. This is an utter waste of my existence and goes against most of what I stand for and what my parents and grandparents stand for. Domestic terrorism and stealing our things aint it!
