Do you still need the audio converter if it’s connected through hdmi? And is there a DVD player built into the tech package? This is game changing btw! 🙌🏻

Thank you and we'll yes you need the white and red cable to be connected to the car for audio but you can use hdmi or mini hdmi Yes DVD player is built into the tech package

I have a 2014 Maxima as well but no navigation system, no Bluetooth audio, no tech package. Extremely hard finding an upgraded shallow mount chassis 6.2” stereo head unit. I’ve been searching for weeks now!

Oh so you have the S trim then? Have you tried using a Bluetooth adapter for the aux or cigarette lighter port?

Hey man you mentioned there’s not much you can do with the ugly red screen lol.. is there anything? I’d like to upgrade that and keep the original cd port etc.. looks great man!

What's the time stamp? you can replace the screen with a tablet but I'm not sure if the cd player will still work, if you replace the factory radio with an after market you might lose the cd player depending on which radio you get of course (never get the ones that fold down to reveal the cd player port they go bad quick)

I have a 2014 maxima w the premium package, so you’re telling me I could just buy the red and white cord aux and I can play music vids etc... like on KZfaq and it’ll show up on the navigation screen??

Just for audio you need the rca to aux cable but for video you need composite cables and a converter box for converting composite to hdmi so it can display your phone/fire stick or whatever

@@The4-D mines is a blue screen but when I plug in a plug in play it has the sound but the video was going in out do u think it's the rcc plug the yellow once it displayed the game but it would go out when I would pull the plug out a little bit back n forth

Like while you play music or something have your own custom background? Nope You can have it display pictures though that's about it

Yes but you'll have to go behind the dash/radio and unplug a cable There's a video on how to do it.

I have a 14 maxima sport pkg. it doesn’t have nav and we have to hook up phone to aux to listen to music. Looking to upgrade so we can use car play. Are you familiar with this? What to do?

You could hard wire a tablet in place of the factory screen use have a second screen at the bottom but you will lose access to the a/c controls There are alternatives that integrate the a/c and other stuff etc but that's usually over $500 just for the product

It’s not touch screen either, I do have an radio I bought for my daughters car that never used. Does it don’t bottom where cd radio player is or the top screen where everything else is ?

@platinum2real yes you can replace that screen up top and keep your hvac controls or replace that whole section with a tablet (like a tesla/ford tablet) You can also use an android tablet or iPad in place of the oem screen

I also did get the right ac converter and made sure everything was right. Pressed the ebrake and everything

I can tell your has navigation just from looking at the button layout. The other SV that has the coloured screen with no navigation only has one row of buttons on either side as opposed to 2 rows on your car.

Yes you can, just need a USB C/lightning/micro USB to hdmi Whichever cable your phone uses

@@jamelbrown2472 the head unit itself doesn't have any apps or anything so its mostly screens mirroring unless you want to try one of those samsung smart things devices, i would have to think about how that would work though...

@@The4-D yeah park brake on I've tried to get DVDs to play, I put my phone on it ,thought being that I have audio video cables it would just work,I never tried anything else I just ran my amp and subs couple months back I put an audio control lc2i JL500/1 & 2 JL12w6v2s

quality looks pretty bad though yeah? there's a cable you can disconnect behind the radio so it can work without the ebrake
