You mean more acolytes to a dead genre that doesn't sell albums and barely keeps afloat off of ticket sales? Why should the Voice endorse a musician who willfully chooses a song with no popular clout written by a band that most of the judges have never even heard of?

Crimson Dervish because people are actually waking up and realizing how shitty pop music actually is. Rock isn’t dying, it’s just been replaced by pop and hip hop as the most popular music genre. Just because you don’t hear something on the mainstream radio station doesn’t mean it’s dead. The judges here should’ve given him a chance bc he does have a really good voice, maybe not with the highest range but still higher than what I can sing for sure so they should’ve helped him out

@@codyross233 It's not about quality, it's about sales. 'Good' and 'bad' are subjective terms, sales figures are not. No matter how much you may prefer rock to pop, no matter how much you may refer to it as 'shitty', it still has sales figures that dwarf rock music, so that's what they're looking for. The same goes for someone trying to play jazz during the glam days of the 80s, or trying to play ragtime when big band music was selling hard. It's about knowing the market and keeping up with the times. Which this kid does not. Waste of the judges' time.

@Damian Edge Define 'legend'? You mean something that you, Damian Edge, personally find satisfying? To many out there, musicians like Michael Jackson, Elton John, and Whitney Houston are the real legends and the rock musicians you idolize are hacks. It's all in the eyes of the market. And need I remind you that many of the contemporary pop artists like Taylor Swift and Katy Perry will one day be referred to as 'legends' in someone else's eyes?

I bet Samu Haber was the only guy who might have heard of Myles Kennedy before. But the others... never. And the cover wasn’t good at all unfortunately. It’s a cross to bear to cover THE rock singer of our times.

The thing that makes the song so great is the vocal performance of Myles, the soul and sheer power he puts into it. This was just. Okay. Still, good voice, but the song wasn't the right pick

It personally insults me, that nobody of them dumb judges turned around. That song is pure goosebumps and he might not have nailed it perfectly, but still very good. Another bit of proof that real, handmade authentic music loses more and more ground these days. I have a special relation to Alter Bridge and even played "In Loving Memory" on my mom's funeral, after she tragically passed away in a car accident in January 2014...

Well done in a lower key. Myles tunes his guitar in an open tuning (can't remember which one at the moment), but this one suits his voice. Really well done.

The original song is tuned in open g. But can be played in standard as well with 4 basic chords. Anyway, this guy sang really good. Dont know what’s wrong with the judges.

Technically he was right, though the poinz is when you do this song, you need the high tones and the power and energy. He was really reserved and never unleashed the energy. Hear the original and youll hear. And thats the reason why no one buzzered. Miles kennedy is such a powerful singer with an incredible voice range. You have to deliver this if you dont want to feel like mediocre.

You are not right that energy you say he has it but in the most energic part is made of 2 voices at the same time maybe the same cause the studio if you see also mark tremonti have to sing in the shows in order to make the 2 voices like the studio ones. Your judgement is out of place

It really takes some abilities to take Kennedy's song and not completely slaughter it. He was cool, but you can say he doesn't feel comfortable with those high notes.

No matter how popular the song is or not, it's the quality of the performance that should have been judged here. The judges didn't do what was asked of them. They just said to themselves that they didn't know the song without really trying to listen the singer. This show shouldn't exist because it distorts the perception of what a musical work should be.
