I've very much enjoyed these episodes with Kevin. I believe if you had the opportunity to make him a "regular" guest on your channel would be excellent. That said I think that the way you go about putting these together everyone is going to enjoy whomever you choose to get together with.

I would love to make a suggestion as I like watching your brand grow. Take Kevin to Switzerland have him talk about his upbringing there while touring famous watch manufacturers. I know it has its expenses but the horological value and Kevin's rich story telling abilities would create a once in a lifetime experience for both of you and it would make for a great video series. You could break up the video like this into 5 to 10 videos to recoup the cost. Advertising each video weekly to increase viewer retention. Also I filled out your watch strap questionnaire. You have some real winners in there and I think you did a great job of providing versatility to appeal to a wide range of buyers.

YAI YAI YAI I don’t know, the GS spring drive was the worst watch I ever owned. GS has horrible customer service, warranty doesn’t cover the internal magnets. Mine stopped from magnetized or demagnetized internal magnets from traveling through an airport scanner. GS charged me $880 to recharge the internal magnets, the watch was barely a year old, had to be sent to Japan and took over 2 months. Still love my regular Seiko watches the ones made in Japan are still a great value. But buying a $10,000 watch should get you better customer service, a warranty that covers the main part of the movement and at least some magnetic protection. Mine was the GS SBGC221. I sold this watch and a Rolex Anniversary Submariner, I definitely do not miss the GS or wish I kept it. Picked up an aquanaut in their place, now that’s a great watch.

YAI YAI YAI the only other watch I’ve ever had to demagnetize was a Rolex and I dropped it off at my AD on Monday and picked it up Wednesday, no charge. So GS was a shock.

I bought my first Grand Seiko recently (sbgk005) and absolutely love it. But I hope your experience was a fluke, because they have to have customer service that is equal to the luxury standard of other companies if they wish to succeed.

Yeah FPJ is like the pseudo watch enthusiasts name brand to name to seem like they know what they are talking about. Hardly rare. Now in perspective to some other brands sure they are more rare but are easily available and all over the secondary market. The 1 of 10 FPJ statement is a marketing ploy and in fact every boutique only receives 10 per year of the limited edition series and there are quite a lot of boutiques so you do the math but it’s no we’re near only 1 of 10 produced.

Beast Jr its different when you do your research and come to your own conclusions instead of memorizing lines dealers told you to sell you a watch. He doesn't demonstrate a deeper understanding of the watches besides from what we all know.

@@oscarcordero4436 He’s clearly in it for the money. Teddy had to correct him about the helium escape valve on a Seamaster in one video. He also said he doesn’t care about your movement. A true watch collector should care about the entire watch and know about the movement

Lav True, but it doesn’t mean you’re not a collector... I found it a little derogatory towards the vast majority of people who have to save for ages before affording a piece... what these rich people do is watch buying not collecting

@@kevin_howell I hear you! What did Archie Luxury say in his one on one interview with Teddy? "It's [collecting] gotta hurt for it to be meaningful". I saved for 5 years to afford my Explorer 1, and another six after that for my first (and most likely only) high-end precious metal Parmigiani Fleurier. Next will be either a GS or a JLC, whenever the coffers get replenished 😁😁😁😁

I love your videos with Kevin. I collect watches also and have the bug for the high end watches. Best advice and after I realized it was his comment was best to have a collection of 10 watches for most people. I had over 30 and constant battle on which to wear, etc......getting down to the 10 made things so much better.

It's "easy" to be a true lover of high horology when you've got a money printer in both pockets. This guy thrives on having unique pieces, because it will make him feel special for feeling unique and having something you don't or some other rich dude won't have. That's not the love of horology.
@Danielpi
@Danielpi 4 жыл бұрын
@@GODSPEEDseven Well, there's nothing wrong with being rich. Just find a rich guy who actually knows something about watches is all I'm saying. O'Leary called Bremont, "Beaumont," called the helium release valve, a "nitrogen valve," and he doesn't know how to pronounce "Audemars." Pretty much all of his "insights" about watches are just meaningless metaphorical descriptions. Riffing on some childish stream of consciousness. It'd be totally in line with his vocalized rumination if he were to say something like, "If Rolex were the Pegasus, then Omega is a mighty Griffin," imagining this were sensible, witty, or maybe profound. I can't help but think this idiot is so far up his own bum hole, no one tells him when he sounds like a five year old child with a mental handicap.
