Xiaomi has cancelled its FREE service allowing its camera to record short clips of surveillance detected events.
The reason-- Xiaomi wants all to subscribe to Home Secure to avail of the service.
But there's a way to still watch those detected events. Check this video.

Great review, doesn't look like some fancy KZfaqrs channel videos but giving the real information you need. Other reviews either paid or self sponsored all they do is reading the device specs.

Hello I'm wondering after 3 months my subscription ends if a thief stole the sd card or the camera and i'm not subscribed can i found the clips on my phone ?

Nope. Some of Xiaomi cameras can be connected to a NAS for back-up storage. Maybe, that is a solution.

Hiiiii great video. I just have one question. If I subscbred from July 1-30, and I will have to subscribe again for the month of August, am I going to loose the videos from the month of July?

@@ReinMadel-i5f By Aug. 1, the July 1 videos will be automatically deleted as it will be overwritten by the videos of Aug. 1. HERE'S FROM XIAOMI SECURE Term of Use page: How do the 7-day and 30-day event video history plans differ? The number of days, 7 or 30, refers to how long videos are stored in the cloud. For example, on 1 January 2019, you purchased a 7-day event video history plan and started to store the videos generated from 1 January to 7 January; on 8 January, the videos recorded 7 days earlier (i.e., on 1 January) will be automatically deleted and those generated from 2 January to 8 January will be stored. And so on.

@@ReinMadel-i5f Actually, you don't really need the cloud. By having SDcard, you can see all those videos days or weeks ago depending the card size. The only advantage having the cloud service is the detected events which you can be notified and play directly on the the 9-sec. Clip.

i have subscribed, enabled home surveillance, put sensitivity to high yet not a single event recorded. i dont know why. u got any idea what i might be missing out?

@@bagarimeena In you open your camera on the Mi Home app, go to Storage Management and tap the Cloud tab. You will be directed to Xiaomi Secure page.

You can still receive notification for detected person but you can't just play the 9-sec detected event video clip. Anyway, you can just see it on the timeline or card recording.

Hi sir so when you say if I subscribe today, it still has records of the past videos from today? I only have 64GB sd card and I wanted to view the recordings first of August,you can guarantee that when I subscribe today, I still have access to those? i am just worried if I paid now and I can't access them

You better read the terms of the subscription. I don't know if it can back track to days prior to subscription.

In Xiaomi cams, when you say RESTART, it means you turn off the camera and turn it on by pulling the plug. Someone can do that for you in your home while you are away. But if you mean--RESET, you can DELETE DEVICE from the Mi Home app but you need to be in your house since pairing the device needs to be connected on the same network.
