Isn't this one of the greatest technical tragedies of our time. That in July 1969 - and that is 53 years - half a century ago - we have space travel with a distance of 384,000 km to the moon. People got out of the lunar lander and went to the moon. And today, you hardly dare to even talk about it, we get excited about opening a hatch of a capsule at 400 km altitude in a 1.5 hour video? If it wasn't so incredibly tragic, if it wasn't so outrageously painful, you could maybe tolerate it as a good comedy ...

We need to end this program! We have spacex, which is cheaper and more reliable.

1.2 billion dollars, and all we get is a 'super sized', glorified Apollo capsule? What a rip off of the American tax payers
@bjbeardse2 жыл бұрын
This is the large size, Orion is the super size...
@gurgleblaster22822 жыл бұрын
Well most of that is r&d and this is more than a glorified Apollo capsule. Not to mention it's reusable. Unlike the Apollo capsules which were single use.
@aerohk2 жыл бұрын
Speaking of the capsule only (not the rocket), this is probably more advanced than SpaceX's one which still lands in the ocean, exactly like Apollo.

Ever since Alan M. left as CEO of Boeing all has gone from bad to worse. Yes there are those who love you, and those who despise you: The issue is that America has depended on you to deliver since the Apollo Age. But we’re now 50 years on. Regardless of the ‘advancements’ made by you as a company, you’ve let us as a nation and people down. You’ve taken the taxpayers dollar and put it straight into your own. Then, you give us this ‘Starliner’ capsule for the future of humans in space. It’s truly a disappointment and utter failure. It’s about time you took a leaf out of your old CEO’s book and omit and rid this cancer that is eating up Boeing from the inside out. This day and age doesn’t call for more opinions and young thinkers who ‘think’ they know better than the ancients: it calls for doers. You’re move Boeing; rise to the occasion or fall(like you’ve been doing for many years now)…
