This focus on Biden's debate performance - or more particularly how confident he looked - suits MAGA as it is successfully keeping off the air the issues that matter: the economy, climate change, employment, national debt, incomes and inflation. On any of these issues Trump is dead in the water, a failure. MAGA needs to keep the reality of performance in office out of sight, and the media is in practice facilitating that.
