You forgot to add sinister to the word clowns! When I was young I liked to see clowns in carnivals and parades because they did funny stunts, until I saw clowns in a movie theaters eating and terrifying people, Halloween settings! Nothing funny about those clowns! I had a collection of cute colorful little clowns which I trashed after I saw a clown movie! These new clowns are horrifying !

Never says a thing about Cohens counsel from back when it happened. Cohen lied several times. Cohen is on record telling Cistello that he wasn't going to let anyone know about it to protect Melania and Trump's campaign. Cohen told Costello he took out a home equity loan to pay for it. Folks, please don't think that you are completely helpless as regards "judge" Cannon and her antics; you are not. Glenn Kirschner explains step-by-step how every concerned & angry American (so not us foreigners I'm afraid) can file a judicial misconduct complaint form with the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals to insist that Cannon be removed from the case and a fair, impartial, and independent judge be assigned trump's federal case in Florida. What do you have to lose, good people, go for it!

I think the question people should be asking is not was your life better four years ago (obvious answer). The question should really be - how many life long friends and family members are you no longer speaking to as a result of Donald Trump? I personally had disagreements about former presidents but I’ve never seen the country this deeply divided over a single person who does not care about anyone else except himself. This is not the country that was intended but it seems like the one we deserve.

Your assessment strikes a truth. I am still speaking to some friends who have "fallen down the rabbit hole" but the relationships are strained. As you say, we have had disagreements about former presidents, but never to this deep a schism. I don't know how long we can remain civil and still be as close as we were. Changing the subject can only go so far for so long.

Back in the early 1970s, I can clearly remember hearing my indoctrinated Presbyterian-Republican father & remarkably independent Irish-Democrat Great Grandmother heatedly debate over Nixon, the Kennedys, Vietnam, & other things political & even religious. They'd get a bit heated, but never angry enough to turn against one another. In contrast, Trump has been the reason for my own contact with several ex-friends & relatives terminating permanently. I believe that if my dad were still alive, he would back Trump. That being the case, he would have heard the last of us in around mid-2016. Differences of opinion, conflicting points of view, or differing political beliefs is one thing - being a person who could/would buy into the Trump cult to the harm & detriment of everything in this world not of their own kind (in fact, that is their whole point & purpose) including the future of their own children & grandchildren, for any stated reason, is something else entirely.

Two families there are doing whatever they can to free their country; another family moved to Russia believing Putin's propaganda. What is truly sad is that the apartment building that family moved from was in Bucha, which was destroyed early in the war. They cannot go home if they wanted to. It is the same schism there.

Michael Cohen’s bluster has always seemed to me to come from a man who felt deeply betrayed, humiliated, disappointed and ashamed once the wool was pulled away from his eyes. He’s verbose because he is loudly trying to communicate to the cult that he will turn on them too. He is Cassandra screaming into the void. But we hear you loudly and clearly Michael. Thanks for helping us understand him a bit better Lawrence.

It's been suggested that he is not sleeping "mostly" but it is his way of protesting. He is showing himself disengaged to show he has no respect for any of these proceedings. Don't be fooled by the 'doddering old man' (yes, at times he is). It feels more like a100% calculated FU.

There is "the law" for the "little people" but the Republicans are above the law so it matters not what Trump or any other Republican does, they should be supported and of course, Jesus would want it that way. For the really good people, the truth is whatever they say it is. Praise the Lord for the righteous Republican party.

It's interesting to note Mike Johnson didn't wear a red tie. In another historical event in in Arboga [SWE] in 1517, Brask secretly placed a note under his seal with the wording: "To this sealing I am forced and compelled" that later saved his neck. This was famously thereafter called a "Brask note". I look at Johnson's missing tie as an example of the same.
