Agree. I generally hate Sweet covers. Pat Benatar’s “No You Don’t” was decent but I pretty much can’t stand any others I’ve heard. This is the first Sweet cover I’ve heard where the band turned it into one of their songs, made it their own. It’s makes a great garage pop/post punk tune

This is fun, but not surprised by the negative comments. Some people will hate on anything that isn't the original. Some will hate because it is being done by a band with some female members. Some will hate because they seek to attack Lydia for some comments she made about her interactions with someone. Some will hate the style of music in general, and some will genuinely dislike this performance because they dislike it. Some will hate it because they happened to hear it when they were in the midst of a bad day. The people at AV Club, where this was originally posted, came up with that title. From listening to it, it sounds like those amps are up really loud, you can kind of feel the energy in that room. If the person who came up with that caption was in that room for the performance, I can get where he or she was coming from. Plus they had 24 bands doing covers in 24 days. That’s a lot of headlines. Might have just been throwing shit against the wall at some point lol

I actually think it does kick ass in a raw Indy rock way. It’s not as polished and pop sounding as the original. I also noticed that it sounds like it’s really loud in that room, amps on eleven. I’m a HUGE Sweet fan. This is the first cover I’ve ever liked of one of their songs.

I like what the Regrettes do, but this is in no way better than Sweet. To me, it desperately needs that great synthesizer riff. But, to each their own as I always say. To their credit, this band has done pretty damn well, in a very competitive music market

Hang on. This is the first cover I've ever heard in fifty years. It's not that bad. Maybe Gibsons would give it more clout than Telecasters, but not a bad try. Oh. And they are mostly a girl band.
