With the INSANE costs and EXTREMELY LONG wait times - it's important to understand exactly what grading services such as PSA or Beckett are looking for when they grade your sports cards. If you don't, you could be wasting THOUSANDS of dollars a year getting your cards graded. EVERY DAY & DOLLAR COUNTS when it comes to getting your cards graded.
In this video, Grant and Nicky reveal some of OUR BIGGEST CARDS that we're sending in for grading. Grant shows off some of the cards that didn't make the cut and why we won't be getting them graded.
Nicky breaks down everything that PSA looks at when they inspect your cards and how grades are determined. The guys review the differences between PSA and BGS grading systems and which service you should purchase when submitting your cards - regular or express.

What I’m not liking about these grading companies is that - just in the little time researching right now b4 I hit the hay for the night - I come to find out that they hammer you for your card being badass (layman’s terms). If I send in a card of my favorite player & I chose the standard (lowest) cost, since idk the value & they grade it a 10 all around & find that it’s worth millions! They then tell you “oh well it’s worth over a million & cus of that now you owe us 2 houses & 3 cars to get it back!” That’s where I consider it bamboozling people. If they’re gonna charge anyone $75 for the standard, then grade it & regardless of whether it’s a 1 or a 10 & the card is $10 cus of it or $10M, just ship it back charging only the shipping to people because you already did what I paid for! Basically they’re charging you at the end for their findings value-wise as well. When the truth is, hey I’m just paying you to tell me how good the condition is, that’s it! Now just cus you find it’s worth a lot, you want a cut! Gold digging I tell you!

So true that's the reason I'm skeptical about sending in and I literally have boxes on top of boxes of all type of cards and I know for sure tons are 9-10 but why send in to get robbed basically

@@Pointofviewblvd PSA up-charges. I know Beckett Grading Service/BAS doesn’t. You can send them to Beckett & whether the card is worth $1 or $1,000,000 they don’t up-charge. The only thing about Beckett is they’re tougher on the grading. My SOG Jordan got an 8.5 with Beckett but I took it out of the slab & sent it to PSA & PSA gave it a 9. Plus PSA graded card sell for the most, Beckett is the runner-up, unless you get a gold label 10 or the ultimate black label 10!

That's why you send it to SGC they don't extort you for getting a high grade which makes the card valuable. PSA does that bullshit which should he against the law

They also do pop control so their elites card values don't plummet so they will grade a card a 8-9 when it's a 10 for that reason. PSA is a flipping scam send your cards to SGC they don't do that bullshit

been collecting for years and allways wanted to grade the monster in my closet i just started selling and see that its the best way to turn bigger profit! i sold an antman i thought would hit a 10 i sold it raw for 150 they sent it in and hit that 10 he came up huge time to send them in!!! thanks fellas check you on your next break

How would you recommend sending in cards from a magazine? I recently was reading how certain cards from sports illustrated for kids magazine are worth it, but was wondering what’s the best way to send it if the card is still in the magazine?

Great vid guys. All the cards shown are all must send in to PSA/BGS. I understand the POP report and is important if your looking for a quick flip or just to add to your PC. Most of us don't have those RPA cards unfortunately. What other cards would you recommend sending in...which cards are more difficult when being graded? Example: depending on the POP report on some, would you send in a Rated Rookie Ja Morant HOLO? Which cards do you think best grade well? Thanks!

The Backyard is right about grading. I deal with vintage toys and also do the same with action figures. You need to know what you are sending in, inspect it, any flaw will affect the grade. But man if it comes back a high grade, that is money in the BANK! Love the Backyard, and you guys are the best breakers in the world! Let's GO! 💰🔥

Here's how you save some money..stop thinking once u pull the card...then grade..that your set! A report said the buying side js down immensely. People aren't buying the cards right now. The second phase is selling the card. So I appreciate all the excitement of the finds...but then realize a given card...has 10-15 other videos pulling the same card. You now have quantity (supply)which will diminish demand

I'm new to selling cards and getting them graded. When mailing the cards to PSA for grading how do I go about insuring that package? Do I give the shipper (USPS, UPS, Fedex) an estimated value of the entire shipment? I wouldn't be able to give a solid estimate until PSA grades the cards, correct? Let me know how this works and what I should do. Thanks a lot!

I finally opened up some boxes I've had for years in perfect shape. How do you know if you send the card in and it's a 10 that they won't swap it out and send you back a lower graded card and keep the perfect one? Is there a way to mark your card so you know it's definitely yours?

Ok it’s been almost 3 years since that original comment I posted. I still have a question about PSA upcharging so can any of ya’all here answer it for me!? Here goes: by now I have graded with PSA various times but haven’t experienced a big up charge. Has anyone here experienced a significant up charge!? For example you submit a card that you’d expect to grade a 9 (worth $ x,xxx) but you get the 10 & now the card is worth ($xx,xxx - $xxx,xxx), with this said, will PSA actually up charge you thousands of dollars? I’m about to paste a statement I copied off their site about up charging after a value of 6 figures, heck this might answer my own question. Here is what I copied: †Premium 10 pricing starts at $7,999 for any item with Declared Value of $350,000 or less, and increases by $399 for each $10,000 (or fraction thereof) of Declared Value over $350,000. For example, the price for grading an item with Declared Value of $425,000.00 is $11,191.00, or $7999.00 plus 399.00 * 8 (i.e., ($425,000 - $350,000) / 10,000, rounded up)."

SGC is a good company but their resale value is low, would try PSA if you think it's a 10

Having trouble deciding on Victor Wemby S I for kids rookie cards I have 12 . I think I have a 3 @ a minimum of a graded psa 8 based on other webby cards I've seen I could very well have 9s but what about the others is this the exception not the rule do I grade em all?

Longtime collector, but was never much into having cards graded. I understand where things are these days, but still skeptical about spending the money on grading. Also, just retired from policing and on a budget. Obviously careful about trusting anyone with valuable cards due to my job, but if or when, a grading company shuts down, have people had their cards returned or have they been simply "out if luck"? Just debating my next moves. Thanks for any advice given.
