Both of them are different can't compare. GOT is mid fantasy and Lotr is high fantasy. The fact is LOTR set a standard in fantasy genre, it is timeless and considered as the pinnacle of fantasy storytelling . It inspired GRR to write song of ice and fire

Second age is short they have only small part to adapt in that case they can create new storylines that not an issue but what they actually done is creating a story tolkien never created and characters tolkien never created and finally Warrior Galadriel🌚.
