In this video, I'll be exploring all the secret pockets of Yeonnam-dong, and provide you with a guide on how to get to the Yeonnam Dong Cafe that everyone is photographing, what to eat, and cool things to do in this super hip and trendy neighborhood that is an offshoot of Hongdae.
How to get to Yeonnam-dong: Take the metro to Hongik University Station, Exit 3. Walk straight out of the exit and along the grassy walkway called the gyeongui forest line. Just before you reach an intersection where cars are driving across the gyeongui forest line, cross the street to your right and bear right. Go down Donggyo-ro and continue straight for about 7-10 minutes. In this video, I will also show you how to go from Yeonnam dong to Hongdae.

just got back from Seoul last week and i visited this neighbourhood and loved it! i always have my bagels at SF Bagels and hot chocolate at Coffee Libre

I just got back from Korea and stayed at Yeonnam-dong but i was not able to go to the famous Yeonnam-dong cafe.. It will be on my list next time. But i was really satisfied trying other restaurants on the neighbourhood. I'll be saving this vid as reference for my next visit. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤️

I haven't explored Tokyo as thoroughly, but I would say Shimokitazawa is kind of similar, although its more organic I think and a little less packed with businesses.

What kind of products are you looking to buy? To be honest I feel like that market is so outdated and it's cheaper to buy stuff online thru gmarket. I am not super familiar with all the areas though. I did buy a used cell phone on the top floor of iPark mall (right near the electronics market) when I had to send in my iphone for repair to the states, and I was happy with it. There was a thriving secondhand cell phone market there.

Haunani Tirso ah ok. I don’t know where to buy games but definitely the top floor of iPark mall at Yongsan station for cell phones. Someone also told me that at Sindorim station you can buy used cell phones but I haven’t been there.

Your comment about Cafe Skön being kind of like Ikea is really funny because Skön in Swedish actually means comfortable. The pronunciation is like, "sk" sounds like "sh" as in shirt "ö" is tricky to explain but like the e in the name Merle, like Merle Haggard. and n is just n. I wonder if they realised the double meaning there. I noticed in another video you went to Åland and I giggled when you said the name because it's actually the name of an autonomous island off the coast of Finland which is Swedish speaking. The å sounds the o in 'bore' so it's more like O land (with a short a) :D

We went to cafe skön and they were super, super rude! It was empty but they wouldn't let us sit down because I wanted cake not coffee. They said my husband could sit with his coffee but I'd have to wait outside in the sweltering heat with my cake!

- wow - no kids !!? - - If there is just a couple like that ....in a big area...ok...but THAT is insane to have more than 2 ! -.....it is ok for an option for people to study etc. - but then make them KNOWN as just study cafe's for the people attending school etc. ! - - just CERTAIN ones that someone would not WANT to bring their kids to anyhow ! - and right next door or near it all the rest that DO except young children ! - - - and it is THEIR LOSS not getting to meet and serve YOUR wonderful sweet daughters !! = THEIR Loss ! - - lol - -
